The Journey 2

Still in shock, Tang Tang screamed like one who was bitten by a ferocious beast. Although there was a beast right in front of him.

He screamed so loudly. Which caught the attention of Gui Shan who was already a step away from him.

"Ahhhh...", Tang screamed in a loud tone.

Gui Shan turning back also screamed along side Tang Tang who stood there frozen as one who was peeing on his pants.

Gui Shan quickly told Tang Tang to run for his life and pledge to lure the beast away.

Tang Tang ran in a different direction, while Gui Shan pretending to be scared carefully lured the beast to himself.

Having encountered a similar beast in the forest, he thought he could do away with the beast.

Tang Tang still on the run didn't look back until he noticed he was out of trail and wasn't chased after.

The beast chased after Gui Shan and closing in the gap. But Gui Shan did this in order not to be seen by Tang Tang using his special abilities.

Suddenly, Gui Shan stopped knowing he was out if sight and confronted the beast.

The beast on seeing Gui Shan halt, also stopped and reconsidered his opponent.

Gui Shan felt confident, but unknowingly to him, he has temporarily lost his abilities because he stopped training for a while.

Upon the first attack from the beast, Gui Shan narrowly escaped, still surprised on why he felt empty.

But nevertheless, he didn't stop. On an attempt to hit the beast, his blow did nothing to the beast but he felt pain in his arm.

Before he could recover from his thought, he saw himself on the ground with a heavy blow from the paw of the beast.

The beast immediately wanted to pounce on him and Gui Shan thought it was over. But something amazing happened.

As the beast was about to land the final blow, suddenly a bright light shone from Gui Shan's body, which left the beast dead on the floor.

On seeing this, Gui Shan fainted.

"Gui Shan...Gui Shan", Tang Tang called out having heard the scream of the beast, he assumed Something happened to the beast.

On getting there, he found Gui Shan lying on the floor with the beast already dead next to him.

Still in shock, he approached and confirmed if the ferocious beast was actually dead or he was daydreaming.

But truly, he found out the beast was dead. "Gui Shan...Gui Shan wake up", he said with tears flowing down his cheeks thinking Gui Shan was dead.

"Stop crying Tang, I'm not dead", Gui Shan said waking up.

"What really happened, I was scared that I already lost you", Tang Tang said.

"Have you forgotten I told you I would get to the root of my existence", "I haven't started my quest yet remember", Gui Shan said.

"Stop playing around, I meant what I said", Tang Tang said emotionally.

"How did you kill the beast", Tang Tang asked out of curiosity.

Actually, I can't remember what happened", "I just faintly remember being knocked down by the beast and you waking me up", Gui Shan said trying to cover the truth.

"But such a ferocious beast cannot just die at random, there is something you're are not telling me", Tang Tang said

"So if you were told I killed this beast you would actually believe such a lie", Gui Shan said

"It's not far from being possible", Tang Tang replied

"Help me up", Gui Shan said trying to close the conversation

"Tang Tang...pls don't do something this funny next time, we may not be lucky as we are now", Gui Shan said

"I'm aware of that", Tang Tang said studying the terrain

"Let's look for somewhere safe before it's goes dark", Tang said as he Led the way

The two youngsters eventually found their way out of the forbidden

"Finally, we are free from any threat, I can  e at ease now", Tang Tang said crashing on the ground

"That would be a good spot", Gui Shan said pointing at a cave

"Yes! It's indeed a good spot for us to camp tonight", Tang Tang said in compliment

They both walked to the cave which was some distance away from them. On their way, Gui Shan gathered some sticks which he planned to use in setting fire

They entered the cave, seeing it was good and apeared safe, they decided to camp there

Gui Shan decided to set the fire before night falls to keep themselves warm and also ward off reptiles

"Tang Tang... I'm going out to see if I can get meet for dinner", Gui Shan said

"Don't take long", Tang Tang replied

"Okay", Gui Shan said as he went off

Hunting for meat wasn't Gui Shan's real aim of going out. He was searching for a seluded place where he can commune with his ancestral grandmaster, having left him aside for a while now

He spotted a place and luckily for him, a little squirrel ran past, which he caught immediately being skilled in hunting

He took it back to the cave and prepared roast meat. They both ate to their full.

"This is so satisfying, I'm already full", Tang Tang said after eating more than half the meal

"Me too, I'm filled", Gui Shan said in agreement

Having ate to their satisfaction, they both decided to retire for the night and bid each other a good night rest

It didn't take long before Tang Tang fell into a deep sleep, unaware of his environment

During this time, Gui Shan feigned that he was fast asleep the whole time

Having noticed that Tang Tang had fallen asleep, he carefully got up from the mattress

And walked stealthily down a path with a fire torch to see through the dark woods

Immediately, he arrived at his destination. It was a solemn place, which was why he chose his for his meditation

He took a good sitting stance and concentrated deeply, ignoring his environment and surroundings

Luckily for him he had a breakthrough and entered into a subconscious zone, but this time around, he found himself in an endless space.

In that space, he saw a man backing him and got assured that he was in the right place but a different location.

That wasn't his problem at that moment, what he pondered on was if he should approach his grandmaster, Hun Feng.

Being aware of the fact that he disobediently acted against his master's wish and skipped training, he knew he was in for something.

"Master Hun Feng...master Hun Feng", the young warrior called out to the man in white.

Getting no response, he decided to get close, but stopped as the figure turned to face him.

Feeling guilty he said nothing after realizing the figure was grandmaster Hun Feng. But seeing his master was silent, he decided to start a conversation.

"Good day grandmaster", he greeted.

"Good day young wolf warrior", Hun Feng replied in similitude.

Gui Shan was shocked at the old man's response. He thought the least the old man would do was to scold him, but it didn't cross his imagination it would be so easy.

Still in shock, he asked.

"Aren't you angry with me"

"Why would I be angry, you did nothing to upset me", Hun Feng replied.

"Pls old man, I have a question", Gui Shan said.

"Go on...", the old man replied.

"Were you the one who saved me this afternoon", Gui Shan asked out of curiosity.

"Yes Indeed, I was the one", "If I didn't do that, you would be a dead man by now", Hun Feng replied.

"Why did you save me? Are you expecting something from me in return?", Gui Shan asked.

"No! Like I said you would be a dead man which means my primordial spirit would be lost and disappear", Hun Feng replied.

"Thank you for saving my life, although I've not been of any help to you", Gui Shan said.

"No problem... it's part of my duty to protect you since you are so powerless", Hun Feng replied.

"Today made me realize that you only seek after my wellbeing, I plead to be your fully pledge disciple", Gui Shan said.

"I've given you this offer before now, but you tried to run from your destiny", "I'm happy you're back to your senses", Hun Feng replied.

"So master, when do I begin my training?", Gui Shan asked with serious tone.

"Anytime you feel is right. But mind you, a day you spend here is an hour in the real world, so reconsider your options", Hun Feng said.

"How about I begin tomorrow, same time", Gui Shan enquired.

"As you wish, you can go now", the grandmaster said closing the conversation.

Gui Shan regained consciousness and discovered that he only spent few minutes in the subconscious world. He quickly went back stealthily to avoid any suspension from his friend.

"So..."
