New Goals
Gui Shan succeeded in sneaking back without Tang Tang noticing and slept off like a baby.
The next day came, Gui Shan is seen holding the jade token given to him by his foster parents.
"Gui Shan... you're up already?", Tang Tang asked.
"Yeah, just thinking of what the future holds for me", Gui Shan said.
"I've told you several times, don't worry too much, remember with your skill and my intelligence, we two would become great", Tang Tang said.
"Okay, I'll stop worrying", Gui Shan said as he kept the jade token in his breast pocket.
They both got ready, as set out to continue their journey. On their way they saw a stream and decided to wash themselves.
Thoughts were flowing through Gui Shan's mind, the thought of his training, the trip to Nirong Village and unraveling the truth about his parents.
The thought that clouded his mind most was what form his training is going to look like, since he is now a disciple and having pledged to train harder than ever.
He just pictured and arrainged his life in one big encyclopedia.
"Gui Shan", Tang Tang said bringing him back to reality. "What are you thinking about?" He added.
"Nothing, just skimming through the past few days of my life", Gui Shan said.
"Okay since it's nothing disturbing, let's continue our journey", Tang Tang said as he brought out a map from his bag.
"Okay", Gui Shan replied.
The two youngsters continued their journey to Guiyi academy. Gui Shan on the other hand was in deep thought.
"Hope you're not having problems with the coordinates?", Gui Shan asked out of concern.
"Just follow, I know where we're heading to", he said in a conclusive tone.
"Tang...what do you think Guiyi academy would like?", Gui Shan asked out of curiosity.
"I think it would be a school full of pretty ladies and sumptuous meals for diet", Tang Tang said out of his imagination.
"For me, I think it would be a place full of people with special skills and gifts from all around the kingdoms", Gui Shan said.
"When we get there, we would tell who is right or wrong", Tang Tang said.
Following the map, they discovered a path and short route that would lead them to Nirong Village.
As they continued down a path, being guided by the map, they got to a point where the path now divided into three separate ways.
Contemplating which way to follow, the two youngsters decided to take a nap since it was already noon.
They both decided to rest under an oak tree. Surprisingly for them they heard someone singing and the voice gets louder and seem to be coming towards their direction.
Contemplating on who to expect, a young lady came by and greeted the two of them.
As she was about to proceed with her journey, Tang Tang who already took a liking to the lady asked her to please wait and give him some directions.
Tang Tang being a smart one quickly started a conversation.
"Hello angel", Tang Tang said with smiles all over his faces.
"Good day, Mr..", replied the young lady.
"May I know your name?", Tang Tang requested.
"I don't tell my name to strangers, but anyways I'm Ru Yuo from Aang village", she replied politely.
Tang Tang already impressed, but not willing to embarrass himself kept calm.
"I'm Tang Tang from Ciafa village", Tang Tang said stretching out his hand for an handshake.
Tang Tang felt accomplished deep within. On the other hand, Gui Shan was amazed by Tang Tang's competence in approaching the lady.
Tang Tang already taking a liking to the lady, quickly cleared his throat with a screeching sound.
"Uhmm... actually I think we're heading the same direction", Tang Tang said out of impulse.
"I don't think so, I'm heading to Nirong Village for the Guiyi academy's entrance examination", Ru Yuo replied.
"Great! That's where we are also headed", Tang Tang said picking his bags to continue the journey.
Gui Shan was speechless and surprised by how Tang Tang succeeded in convincing the lady to accompany them in the journey to Guiyi academy.
"I'm not too familiar with the terrain, can you lead the way Ru Yuo", Tang asked in a courteous manner.
"I can't lead the way for two grownups like you, we better walk on the same pace", Ru Yuo opened up.
"Okay, let the wind lead the way", Gui Shan said with a smirk as he leaped forward.
The three youngsters continued their journey to Nirong Village. As they journeyed on the way, they talked about themselves, shared stories and enjoyed themselves on the way.
"Have you ever been to Nirong Village?", Gui Shan asked.
"When I was much younger, I went there on several occasions with my parents, who usually go there for business",
"It's been some years back and I think things may have taken a new turn in the town", Ru Yuo replied.
"Wow! that means with you here we won't be blackmailed while seeking directions", Gui Shan said being impressed.
Tang Tang was already getting pissed up off by the Ru Yuo was smiling at Gui Shan. In an attempt to get her attention.
He tried to play savior. Since he spotted berry tree, he decided that it was a wise way of getting her attention.
"Does anyone care for some berries", Tang Tang asked.
"I wouldn't mind", Gui Shan said.
Tang Tang at that point wasn't concerned about Gui Shan but was patiently waiting for Ru Yuo's reply.
"Can I also get some", she requested.
Tang felt like a hunter that had meat in his trap. He quickly ran to the berry tree and grabbed some fruits.
On getting there, he handed most of the berry to Ru Yuo and gave the remaining to Gui Shan.
They enjoyed the berry as they continued their journey.
"Do you like the flavor?", Ru Yuo asked Gui Shan.
"Yes, of course it came from our very own Tany", Gui Shan said to make Tang feel comfortable.
Ru Yuo patted Tang on the shoulder and thanked him for the berry. Unknowingly to Ru Yuo, she has just kindled the fire in Tang Tang.
Tang Tang at this point felt so satisfied as things were falling in place as he planned.
They laughed as they continued in the journey with Ru Yuo leading the way. Evening was creeping in and the sun was already going to it's bed.
"We are getting close to Mulang village", "Maybe we'll take an inn and rest the day", Ru Yuo said.
No long after she said that, they arrived at Mulang village, which had an inscription by the passage that reads "A home for all".
"Let's find an inn to rest", Ru Yuo said as they entered.
"Yeah! Let's look for one with a very large bed and space for all three of us", Tang Tang said not considering the fact that Ru Yuo was a female.
"I can't stay in the same room as you guys, I need some privacy", Ru Yuo cut in.
"Don't mind him, he's just over excited", Gui Shan said to repress her rage.
She walked away from them swiftly as she headed for the inn. On getting there, she met the inn keeper which was a middle age man.
"Good day sir, my friends and I would like to room", she requested as Tang and Gui Shan joined her.
"Good day young lady, the least room herr cost about 100 copper coins, are still going for the two?", the inn keeper replied.
On hearing the cost of a room, Gui Shan and Tang Tang were surprised as it was quite expensive when compared to their village.
"We only took 200 copper coins for the journey, and we are about to spend half of it", Gui Shan said out of shock.
"Don't worry, the bill is on me", Ru Yuo said paying 200 copper coins to the inn keeper.
After receiving his payment, the inn keeper quickly showed them their various rooms which were opposite each other.
At this moment, what flooded Tang's mind was the idea that fate had brought both him and Ru Yuo together.
"Pick up your bag Tang let's go to our room", Gui Shan added waking Tang from his daydream.
They quickly entered their various rooms and bade each other a good night rest.
In the room, Gui Shan is seen lying on the bed while Tang Tang is seen walking round the room with many thoughts flowing through his mind.
Indeed fate has been set into motion and the wheel of fate has started spinning very fast. At this moment, all Tang Tang could think of was Ru Yuo and how the day went with her.
Meanwhile, Ru Yuo has taken a liking to Gui Shan. While Gui Shan still sees her as a new friend whom they are yet to understand fully.
