The training was in progress as it was just a month 26days to the exam
It was another new day, students of various wings have successfully advanced to different levels of cultivation.
Gui Shan on his part was the talk of the academy, his breakthrough into the third level of the 'stage of tranquility' was a shock to many.
Gui Shan was now on the spotlight, even in his own wing, he began to earn the respect of his seniors.
Meanwhile, Hu Mei was not happy with Gui Shan's feat and concluded that there was something fishy about it.
"I'll get to the root of this", he said.
Training that day began. All the students were present at their various training points during the early hours of the day.
*CRIMSON LION WING*
Gui Shan and the rest students had already arrived at the training ground awaiting master Huang Ju.
"Good morning master", they greeted as master Huang Ju arrived.
"Good morning students",
"I welcome you to the training today and congratulate your efforts yesterday",
"Although it was our first training, you guys Successfully advanced to the 'stage of tranquility', he said.
Shortly afterward, he took them to the Wing's archery quarter.
"Our training today would base on improving and enhancing your vision and body control",
"A good martial artist must possess keen eyes like that of an eagle", he said.
"Okay master", they responded with enthusiasm.
To the students, it is just normal archery.
Just as they were mumbling among themselves, master Huang Ju cleared his throat;
"Before we begin practicing the art of archery",
"I would like to point out some things for you", he said.
He began by giving them the basics;
"Archery is an art of precision, it's the ability of one to control and stabilize the body, in order to direct one's Qi into the bow."
"You have to control your body as well as your breath. Train your muscles and precision by holding your arm in various positions without cramping",
"Are you ready for this? He asked.
"Yes sir!", they responded.
He then gave each of them a quiver containing arrows as he gave further instructions.
"Each of you is to aim at the target and possibly try to hit the bull's eye", master Huang Ju Said.
Wan Fei during this moment was getting all excited since archery has being one of his hobby since childhood.
Ru Yuo and Gui Shan seem to be a novice at archery. They all took their quiver and took turns to give it a shot.
Wan Fei stepped forward for his shot.
He took a standing position, had a firm grip on his bow, found a balance point, then off the arrow went.
To the surprise of everyone, Wan Fei hit the bull's eye.
Gui Shan and Ru Yuo were amazed and cheered Wan Fei.
It was Gui Shan's turn now, he stepped forward, grabbed an arrow from the quiver and took a deep breath.
He wasn't sure of the outcome of things, but he summoned courage and gave it a shot.
It was as though everyone were expectant of what Gui Shan's hit would be.
Fortunately, he didn't get the bull's eye, although he made a hit at the margin of the target.
Gui Shan wasn't deterred by his performance, he believed that he'll better during the next round.
Next on was Ru Yuo. She took a deep breath and breathe out.
She looked tense as she had never shot an arrow before. Ru Yuo took an arrow, set it on the bow and stood for some time.
Her grip wasn't that firm but she finally took her shot.
Due to her inexperience, she missed the target and the arrow went flying to the ground.
She felt disappointed and stepped aside.
"Don't feel bad, I believe if we practice harder, we'll eventually get it", Gui Shan said as he pacified Ru Yuo.
They both continued practicing and their precision was greatly increased. Gui Shan seems to have mastered the art, same with Ru Yuo.
Although, Wan Fei's skills surpasses theirs. They all practiced together and were polishing their skills.
"I can see that you all are doing excellently well."
"But don't get excited since we just only began. Continue practicing for today, we'll begin a proper archery training tomorrow", master Huang Ju said as he walked away.
Gui Shan, Ru Yuo and Wan Fei continued their archery and....
*PURPLE CLOUD WING*
Meanwhile, in the purple cloud manor training had begun. Both Hu Mei, Jin Xu and Yu Xuan were in attendance.
Master Yang Jun had a look on his face which portrayed the level of his seriousness.
Before the training began, he addressed his new students.
"I believe you all must have heard about the progress of your fellow students",
"I repeat that there is no room for disappointment",
"Put in your best into the training, I want all my students to come out beautifully well",
"Yes sir! We'll do our best", they responded.
"I want you all to quickly advance the stage of essence before the Inter-wing competition next month", he said.
After his addressed they all arrived at the archery quarter and soon began training.
"Our training today would base on improving and enhancing your vision and body control",
"A good martial artist must possess keen eyes like that of an eagle",
"Just watch me", master Yang Jun said as he took an arrow from a quiver and a bow.
He then wrapped a black cloth round his eyes and then aimed to shoot. To their surprise with his eyes closed, he hit the bull's eye in less than a minute.
They applauded their master for his arrival skill.
"Why being amazed? That's not up to one-tenth of my skills in archery", he said.
"I want you to understand that the art of archery is way beyond you being physically fit",
"It's a thing of the mind and can't be mastered unless you make it a routine", master Yang Jun said.
After that, he instructed each of them to get an arrow from the quiver and take turns to shoot at the target.
That moment, Hu Mei seemed amused since he has good archery skills. He was the first to step forward and gave it a shot.
It wasn't a surprise to him that he hit the bull's eye. His fellows applauded him.
"Wow! Hu Mei you indeed live up to expectations, seeing our skillful you are", Yu Xuan complimented.
"If it were rumors, I wouldn't have come this far", he said in satiable tone.
Next on was Jin Xu, it wasn't also his first time doing archery.
He was indeed a master with weapons and is known for his dexterity.
He grabbed the bow and an arrow, but he did something exceptional that even master Yang Jun didn't see coming.
As he drew out the bow, he infused internal Qi into right arm and shot at the target.
To the surprise of everyone, not only did he hit the target, the force he generated perforated the target and left a hole in the target.
He was applauded for his feat. Hu Mei now seems to have a humble look since he isn't the only with good skills.
It was finally the turn of Yu Xuan, he was very poor at archery, you can call him a novice.
As he grabbed the bow, he was tensed all over him as he feared he may not do well as his counterparts.
He held up the bow as his hands shivered. Fortunately as he released the arrow, it went flying to the ground.
He felt so inferior because of his performance. Hu Mei on the other hand was giggling.
"Don't be deterred, you'll get the hang of it soon", Jin Xu said as he pacified Yu Xuan.
Just then master Yang Jun cleared his throat and spoke.
"I'm impressed by our performance, but Yu Xuan seems to be behind us",
"I urge you to practice harder and get a hang of it", he said.
"And Jin Xu, who taught that technique of infusing Qi energy into your archery?",
"I was taught by my master back then at my hometown", Jin Xu replied.
"That means your teacher must be master in archery", master Yang Jun said.
He urged them to continue practicing as he headed for his chambers.
They all continued practicing that day, Yu Xuan now seems to get the hang of it as he finally had a hit, not the bull's eye actually.
