Ru Yuo was very happy when she saw that Gui Shan had recovered.
"Wow! I don't know how you recovered so fast but I'm happy you're back",
"At a point, your vitals were unstable as though you were about to die, I'm happy you're back", Ru Yuo said as she embraced Gui Shan.
"How long have I passed out? And hope I haven't missed a lot?" Gui Shan said as he was getting ready to get back into the competition ground.
Meanwhile, Hu Mei was badly injured and is currently receiving treatment from the academy's best doctor.
He seems in a critical state but would regain consciousness after some days treatment and rest.
Gui Shan and Ru Yuo then set out to join in the competition. They both happily walked back to the competition ground.
Meanwhile, at the competition ground the senior students were already warming up for their combat.
Gui Shan and Ru Yuo then stepped in. Everyone was amazed by how fast Gui Shan recovered. All eyes were on him as he marched to the his wing spot.
"Wow! I'm glad you're back on your feet bro", Wan Fei said as he embraced Gui Shan.
The masters of the various wings, including principal Ming were not surprised at Gui Shan's quick recovery since they sensed there was something fishy about his background.
Coupled with the fact that master Yang Jun had his doubts about Gui Shan.
The match competition continued in earnest as the senior students began their match.
*ROUND ONE*
In the first round, we have 'Wan Quaing vs Zu Wei'.
Everyone cheered them as they both stepped forward. The two contestants gallantly stepped forward and climbed up the platform.
Zu Wei was the well known descendant of the Zu family, the Zu family was a well known and powerful family. His family antecedents have been known for their prowess and exceptional kungfu skills.
With the wealth of the Zu family as the only son of his father, Zu Wei grew as an over pampered child.
Many people still think that his admission into Guiyi academy was an unsolvable mystery. But over the years, he has been taught some discipline and has also improved in his martial art skills.
But he had been caught several times sneaking to the city's most popular tavern for fun, which was against the guiding principle for Guiyi academy.
Meanwhile, for Wan Quaing, although he came from a humble background, over the years he has trained hard to refine his skills.
He had always hoped of becoming a soldier in the wolf troop in the royal capital. With proper guidance from master Lin Fei, everyone believes that he would become the great warrior he always wished to become.
The match began in earnest, with the two contestants present. The combat began.
Wan Quaing took his first leap to attack, Zu Wei also followed by attacking him also. Both of them seem to be on a stalemate.
The match went on for some time with punches and kicks flying into the air. They seem to be on each other's neck.
But eventually, Zu Wei lost to Wan Quaing. Wan was therefore declared the winner of that round.
The crowd cheered Wan Quaing as they believed that there is no possibility of him losing to someone like Zu Wei.
*ROUND TWO*
Wan Quaing still in the platform was to await his second opponent which was no other than Lu Han.
Lu Han was probably the best student in the second year category, you can simply say that he is one of the top students in the academy.
Lu Han climbed up the stage as the crowd cheered him. But there was no certainity that Lu Han would win considering the turn fate can take.
The fight started but before they started throwing punches, they examined each other carefully. After a moment of silence, they both attack each other almost the same time.
The both of them were evenly match and seem to throwing the crowd to awe. This match was totally on a different level with both of them displaying excellent kungfu skills.
Both their reaction time and attack range was excellent. The match seem to be leading where as none of them was willing to back down or admit defeat.
Although they both got hits on several occasions, it wasn't enough for any of them to go down.
They fought for about ten minutes with no one winning. But as fate would have it, with one last hit, Lu Han emerged as the winner of the match.
There were cheers from all over the crowd immediately Lu Han was declared the winner.
"Congratulations senior", Ru Yuo shouted from a distance as the cheers lasted for some time.
Lu Han was then declared the strongest in the second year category. Lu Han was happily welcomed back by his wing members as he stepped out of the platform.
This makes it two wins for the students in the crimson lion wing.
Next up was the fight to determine the strongest in the senior category. It was the moment and hour everyone had been waiting for.
This was the time when one would witness great display of martial skills at the peak. Public officers, ministers and Generals were present from different divisions in Wushu province.
They patiently awaited this single moment in order to choose whom they will recruit to their division and offices when they finally graduate.
They carefully watch out for the strong and most skillful student. So indeed it was a moment everyone awaited.
Principal Ming stepped forward and requested that the senior students check for their opponents. The senior students stepped forward to look for their opponent in the board.
Principal Ming then cleared his throat and spoke;
"I believe before now, everyone of us have been aware of the rule guiding the competition",
"Everyone of you have been paired up for combat and the last man standing in the final round becomes the winner", principal Ming said as he declared the match open.
For the senior category, the match was made of several rounds. Individuals representing from the various wings were;
Chen Feng and Chu Cao, from the purple cloud wing. Tan Ning and Han Xui, from the crimson lion wing. Qin Feiye and Xiang Wu from the silver eagles wing.

*ROUND ONE*
The match began in earnest. In the first round we have;
'Chen Feng vs Xiang Wu',
'Chu Cao vs Tan Ning', and
'Han Xui vs Qin Feiye'.
After their names were announced, the first contestants came forward. Unlike the fights so far, the senior students came up the platform in a spectacular way.
Their steps and moves were so striking. Instead of walking up the stage, the two contestants flew up to the platform using Qi they gathered in their foot.
Such an excellent display already tells one that these fighters were on a totally different level.
First up was 'Chen Feng' and 'Xiang Wu'. As they came up the platform, the crowd cheered them laudably.
The two contestants took their fighting stance. As Guiyi academy's best student, Chen Feng knew wasn't going to lose, although they both had a stern look on their face.
The fight began, as both contestants displayed excellent moves and counter attacks. Chen Feng's reaction time and precision in attack was off the chart.
No wonder he was the number one student in the academy. His master, Yang Jun was proud of his student's prowess and often boasts that Chen Feng got his skills from him.
Eventually Chen Feng won the match and defeated Xiang Wu without breaking a sweat, that's to tell how powerful he was. Although Xiang Wu was able to put up a fight and hold out, Chen Feng still won.
Chen Feng was then declared the winner. Chen Feng's name was ringing in the air as students from the purple cloud wing screamed his name.
"Chen Feng...Chen Feng...Chen Feng...", they screamed.
Next up was 'Chu Cao vs Tan Ning'.
The would-be winner of this match is still yet unknown because both Tan Ning and Chu Cao were in the second level stage of enlightenment.
Whereas, Chen Feng had already climbed up to third level stage of enlightenment. The both of them had immense strength, stamina and skills.
Despite the fact the Chu Cao was a female, she was highly skilled and known for her kungfu prowess.
Growing up as a child, Chu Cao was brought up in an affluent home, she got whatever help and assistant she needed.
Until one day she decided that she needs to be someone of her own making. She then requested that her father take her to a kungfu school so that she can protect herself.
She was fed up with the fact that every now and then she would always be at the mercy of her father's bodyguard. So she decided to attend a kungfu school and train herself.
