Damien was busy at the counter f the restaurant checking the books. Writing some notes on a price of paper before recording them into a big black book.
"Arghh, why don't you use a computer for this?" Asked Davids who was now tired and had dropped her head on the table.
Damien looked at her and shook his head. He was also for the idea but he has never told his uncle about it. He knows his uncle preferred the old method of bookkeeping using hands and that's why up to date, he uses the same method of bookkeeping.
"I will ask your uncle about it if you don't want to do it then," said Davids when he saw Damien focusing on his work and hadn't given her a reply.
"Try it, he might take it from you than me," said Damien looking at the calculator he was focusing on.
"I might as well save him from all this drama," added Davids pointing at the documents in front of her.
Damien didn't utter a word and continued with his work. Davids studied him and saw how he was trying to balance looking at his phone and doing the calculations in the book. She wanted to know what was eating him that bad that he couldn't just focus on one thing.
Davids stood up and snatched the documents from his hands plus the calculator and focused on them leaving him shocked by her actions.
"I know you don't trust people with money, but you might thank me for doing this," said Davids settling herself and starts to dial the buttons in the calculator.
"Thank you?" Asked Damien in dismay. deep down he was thankful that the calculations were out of his face for a while.
"Yes, thank me, Damien, you are trying to confuse work with personal matters and that doesn't work!" Reprimanded Davids.
Damien looked at her and stood facing say from Davids. Clara was the problem here. She was not giving him a chance to concentrate and focus on business. Ever since she heard about Daniella's father she has been acting weird and hasn't talked to Damien.
"Give her time, we can't pretend that Daniella and class were never once friends," said Davids while doing some calculations.
"But that shouldn't be the reason why she is not texting me back Davids," complained Damien facing Davids.
Davids just shrugged her shoulders and focused on what she was doing.
"When is your uncle coming back?" Asked Davids
"I think sooner than I except before Mr Clank's burial, why?" Asked Damien to fill some documents into a file.
"I wanted to give him a business proposal and talk to him about the importance of using the software means of bookkeeping," said Davids with confidence.
Damien looked at her and admired her confidence when talking. He imagined how her parents are when they make business decisions or when they want to convince someone to join or invest in their companies. He also wanted to be like her, confident and fearless when it comes to decision making. He has looked at the app that he launched to help students in mathematics. She thinks Damien doesn't know about it but he does and has been wanting to ask about it.
"Are you always this confidence?" Asked Damien to change the subject and to get to the main topic.
"Sweetheart, the only way you can make it out in this world is taking risks and being confident, that is the only way to win." Said Davids handing him the completed calculations and she helped with filling.
"What if you fail?" Asked Damen wanting to see how he would answer the question.
"Dust me and start I've again," she said smiling.
"Well am afraid of losing and failing," said Damien.
Davids chuckled and imagined the day she let her mother down, her business almost scrum led to the ground and her mother was angry at her. But she made sure to make it up to her and that is what she is doing.
"Don't be Damen, you don't know how far you can go if you can't start walking," advised Davids walking out of the office.
"Uh, Davids, about the app thing...."
"You have seen my app?" Interjected Davids looking at him. Damien nodded and Davids hugged him.
"But you haven't given me any suggestions or if you want to help be one of the tutors?" Told Davids.
"I've meant to ask you about it and if I can join you in tutoring if I can get some little compensation for my effort?" Asked Damien jokingly.
"That's a good idea, but I was thinking of updating it and making sure every subject is presented and every grade. Our teachers will be of big help and I we will use some of our students as tutors," said Davids while wearing her helmet.
"Does that mean I can make some extra cash?" Asked Damien.
"Too soon for that, hope in I take you home," said Davids
