197: A Fucking Rapist!

The following morning, Davids was picked from the cell, she wanted to talk to the lady on the other cell but couldn't get an opportunity. She had listened to her words and learnt a lot, she didn't know what her fate will be, but keeping up with the positive faith seemed to be hard for her. 

The pinning of evidence was eating her up, her pictures are everywhere and some people are good with computers they can hack anything and she feared it might be used against her. 

Her lawyer was already around and he had a red eye, Davids wondered what might have happened, that will portray a bad picture if he is presenting her in court. She was given some clothes to change and she quickly changed into them as the session was almost starting.

Her parents were present, she didn't need to be shown where to sit and she will always occupy the first seat. Today was the day her strong witness will be testifying, she hoped all the CCTV cameras were not going to be manipulated and she will be cleared free.

Her mother was tired, her eyes were swollen. Looks like she has been crying the entire night, Davids wished things were different. She was battling with retrieving the memories of people who attacked her and now, trying to make sure that her daughter was not guilty was working her up.

She was leaning on her husband, a smile formed on her lips but it faded as soon as it started. Her dad tried to be the strongest person around, he covered the dark marks below his eyes with makeup and you would think he was just okay and nothing was happening.

She didn't see Damien today, 'maybe he is still shocked by Clara's words,' thought Davids, Clara was sitting on the second sit, her head held down. Davids thought of asking her some questions as to why she decided to betray her boyfriend but then decided against it. She couldn't be allowed to do that in the first place.

Trying to check for the people who were inside, her eyes popped out as she saw someone being pushed in on a wheelchair.

"Daniella!"

She gasped as she watched her frail body that was inside the wheelchair. She looked so weak and older than she last saw her. 

Her once radiant body, which was full of life and it shined whenever she walked in the school corridor was now pale and the bones were protruding from her shoulders. 

Everyone turned around to look at the person Davids was looking at, they gasped and some murmured as if they started talking while pointing at Davids, Vicky gasped and cried when she looked at her. 

Though they accused Davids of raped, she knew how it felt for someone to do something bad in your life, but the way her body looked, it seemed like it wasn't related to rape.

Who were they to give opinions? 

Amanda was there giving them deadly glares, and Daniella looked like she didn't have any energy left to talk to anyone, she didn't have even the energy to look at Davids.

"You see what you've caused?" Started Amanda as she pointed at Davids then at Daniella, "she can't even walk she can't talk, and she doesn't want to eat because of the trauma you put her through, are you happy with your life?"

Davids looked at Daniella all this time Amanda was talking, she didn't know what to tell her. She wanted to say sorry for all that happened but she knew if she say that it can be used against her in a court of law. 

"Is this what you taught your daughter to be, a fucking rapist who doesn't care?" Shouted Amanda towards Davids parents.

Davids didn't even want to look at her parents, she knew they were embarrassed by the words that Amanda had just said. Vicky was crying and Mike glared at her, he didn't know why they brought Daniella to the hospital yet she is not fully recovered.

Vicky wanted to say sorry but Mike squeezed her hands and she stayed quiet.

The security guard came and asked her to sit because the paparazzi were now gathering trying to take a shot at what Amanda was saying, the microphones were all over the place. It was hard to know how they managed to sneak inside with their cameras.

The judge walked in and everybody was instructed to stand they sat down after the judge instructed them to.

Mr Chen stood up and dressed the court as he called in the first witness.

"Mr Majory, can you please tell us where you were on September 5,6 and 7th at night?" Asked Mr Chen.

"I was in Mountain High doing my night_shift as usual," said Mr Majory.

"In those days, did you come across unusual guests in school?" Asked Mr Chen.

Mr Majory nodded, "yeah, there was this student who came to me at the gate and she told me she needed somewhere to spend a night. I knew her, this has not been the first time she slept in school. I wanted to ask her why she is sleeping in school—"

"A minute Mr Majory, just take us, step by step on what happened?" Asked Mr Chen.

"She came to me on 5th at around eleven pm, and asked me if I can allow her to sleep in the school for a night because she couldn't go home? Since I knew her from school and she had an id on her, I couldn't deny her the opportunity. She looked lost, her eyes were swollen and but she was clean and everything was okay. I told her to use the school storeroom which I can access at night because it has some flashlights and clubs that we use at night. She didn't hesitate, she walked in and slept. That was on the first day, the second day, she came again at the same time and asked me for a place. I wanted to call the school administration but sue slipped ten dollars in my hands and begged me."

The court started murmuring when the guard talked about money. Davids was shocked about the money because when she escaped from home, she didn't have any cash with her, it was just her and the clothes on her body.

She doesn't remember bribing him or telling him any stories, all sje did was walk at the gate, talk to him ask him about his day, then crash in the storeroom till morning.

"What happened next Mr Majory?"

"She did that for three days until on the 8th when she didn't come because on the 7th she had told me she will be going for her graduation and probably ask her parents to forgive her."

"Is the girl you are talking about in here?" Asked Mr Chen.

"There she is, Davids Black, sir" pointed Mr Majory.

"Is there a day that she missed to come in?" Asked Mr Chen, "in those three days you've talked about?" 

"None, she was present in those three days and I saw her."

"Thank you, I don't have any more questions for you," said Mr Chen.

Davids wanted to be excited and declare herself free but she remembered what she was told by the lady from the other solitary room, all her hopes drained under the bridge. 

Vicky squeezed her shoulder and Davids placed a hand over it. They wanted to assure her that things are going to be okay.

"If the prosecutor gave a question, you are welcome to ask," said the judge.

Mr Gali stood up and walked to Mr Majory.

"You've said the girl you saw is in here Mr Majory?" Asked Mr Gali.

"Yes sir," answered Mr Majory.

"And you've also said she came and slept in the store for three days without missing?" 

"Yes," 

"My honour, let me bring up this evidence of the school cameras, these cameras have been retrieved from the school and approved to be worth," said Mr Gali.

Davids looked at Mr Chen, "why didn't you use the CCTV cameras, they seem to be having more information than us?"

"Look at my eyes and ask it, if it wasn't trying, be grateful I am powerful and trying to support you after everyone bailed on your dad's ass!" 

Davids looked at him and focused on the camera that was being shown to the jury. 

"As you can see, this is on 5th We can see the witness by the gate, all standing and its already eleven and we are not seeing anybody," he zoomed the camera for the jury to see and the truth was there looking at Davids with its eyes cast over her.

"That can't be the truth!" Shouted Davids as she stood up. She wanted to rush forward but the guards restricted her from moving forward.

"Sit your ass down Miss Davids or I will expel you from my court if you don't behave!"
