260: It Didn't Look Like It....

Rose and I were waiting for Noelle and Zeke to finish their interview.  After their interview, I wanted to look for some beds and other items for them. I didn't know what was driving me but I wanted to make sure that they get somewhere good for their sleep.

                "So, how are we going to do this?"

Rose looked at me while trying to ask me something that I didn't even understand. I asked him to rephrase his question because it was difficult to answer it. 

"I like them, can we at least stay with them? I didn't say this but I would love to have them around. They didn't even judge me when I said that my mother is in prison for doing something bad."

What have they been talking about to get there? I thought they were just having children's conversations and not some conversation trying to determine whose parents were way cooler than others. I know Rose is always positive and when he gets older, I will have to tell him that his mom will never get out of that place. I just hope that her mother will be able to see him until he becomes someone she is proud of. 

"Rose, you know, we can't decide for them. They have a mother who would want to stay with them. So the issue of them staying with us is kind of hard. Maybe I will ask grandma if we can stay with them.

I didn't want to give him any hope. Maybe he longs for other kids' company and I must admit, it has been long ever since he associated with kids his age. 

              "Why grandma, why not their mum?"

Why would I ask Daniella about that? I don't want her to think that I want to take her children away from her. She might have some other thoughts about this. As much as they look like me, I respect her very much and I am not going to take that as something for granted.

Any of them is going to be asked. Don't worry, if they can't stay with us then I will take you to grandma's place guys can stay with her and the other guys. You can come to visit anytime if you feel like you want to spend a day with me, just call using your grandma's or anyone in the house.

I didn't want to let him go. I wanted him around. Most of the time he keeps my mind busy and I love it but his happiness has to come first no matter what.

            "Hey, over here!" 

I heard the two voices, Rose looked at them and rushed to meet them. They were already done and were coming outside smiling as they rushed to meet him. 

They ten walked towards me. I just admire the way they are cooperating without leaving each other behind. I wanted to ask them how the exam was, but instead, they jumped at me and hugged me. I felt this connection in my heart and hugged them tightly. 

         "We did it, we are done!" 

Zeke was saying while still hugging me, I didn't want to let this go. I wanted to stay here forever and be happy. 

I quickly broke the bug and looked at their happy faces, I know their results were not out but they were excited to have done the interview.

How was it? You guys have finished earlier than expected and that's surprising.

"The math was not that difficult, and spelling check is my thing, so we just finalised everything quickly."

Let me hope you guys answered everything correctly because there are going to be consequences. 

They all looked at me with shocked faces. They are probably afraid that maybe they did something wrong. I just wanted to make sure that they had done everything correctly. 

After thirty minutes, we were called into the office. Rose greeted his principal who seemed to recognize him very well. 

       "Rose, you didn't say you have other siblings?"

Their principal was asking him. Standing with respect in front of the principal, he introduced all the two kids to his principal and told her that they were studying somewhere else. 

We were welcomed to the office and asked to wait as the results were being processed. I know they are a bit nervous because they were not all jumpy as they were previously.

"Do you need me to call your mum and out her through she might be interested to know the results?

       " No!"

They both chorused. It looks like they didn't want to disappoint their mother and they preferred they tell her the results than have her listen to what was going to be told. Though I secretly recorded the meeting, maybe this will help Daniella know what the school was going to say.

The principal walked in and the two students held on to Rose's hands as if they wanted him to comfort them.

"Do not fear anything, I am very surprised with the results. You guys have done extremely well. For the oral interview, I must admit you guys are very eloquent and your words are nicely pronounced, Mr Davids, I must admit these kids are something else. Rose, you have very stiff competition. These two are fire trust me." 

Rose looked at the principal and raised his brows. I feared that if this was going to stick in his head, they might as well be enemies.

"I don't see them as my competition. Noelle and Zeke are like my sister and brother and we all work together. I know if I am bad at something, they will help me in another thing, I am aiming to work together with them, so I didn't think it's a competition, it's a team."

Wow, I thought they will start arguing and the way they were friends. 

"That's good, so Zeke and Noelle, when do you want to begin your classes?"

The principal asked and they were all excited all of a sudden. They didn't know that that would be admitted that easily. 

                  "Monday, just like the others." 

I was excited that there got an opportunity to go to the same school as Rose. I didn't want to separate them. At least Rose now has a team of people whom he will come to school with and go home together. 

       "Do they need to be picked or they will be dripped to school?"

I will be picking and dropping them, just like we do with Rose. Nothing is going to change about that.

I was not planning to have someone else pick them up or get them on a school bus. They are going to enjoy all the privileges that are here. 

They were given the timetables and diaries, they will get to be assigned patrons on Monday. They couldn't be more excited about the opportunity that they got.

          "Mum, we go it, we finally got the position!"

Shouted Noelle to her mother over a video call.  They had requested to call their mother once we were done and share the news. Daniella congratulate them and promised to buy them presents. 

            "How did the job hunt go, did you get one?" 

"Yeah, baby, I got an opportunity, I will be working with your uncle, Brian, on grandmother's company. Then I also got to enrol in college."

So finally she got to work and go to college. I hope she does her best because her babies here are very excited and happy for her.  

"Hey, I just hope you get someone in college the way aunt Clara used to say that college is where to get the best buddy?"

What, the hell no, give me the phone here, You are there to read not to get the best buddy and you better know that!

Daniela and the kids raised their brows looking at me shout at their mother on the phone. Her daughter was just suggesting that she gets a buddy in college, that is not happening. I will make sure it doesn't.

'I thought you said you are not interested why the shouting then?'

I composed myself and looked into the phone, Daniella was busy looking at me as if I had grown some two horns on my head. 

"Sorry, it is your choice, you don't have to limit yourself, I am happy that you are finally going to college. Do your best there.

Is that what I wanted for her? This is going to be harder than I thought. Other than making her want me, she is making me want her that bad. Whatever, she can have whoever she wants and I don't care about it. 

Noelle and Zeke went on talking to her and we were driven to go look for some beds for them. I could feel all their eyes on me. They were wondering why I was shouting all of a sudden yet I was happy just a few seconds ago.

They turned to look at Rose as if he had some answers but Rose in turn looked at his hands and then at me. This was making the situation more awkward. I didn't want this to happen.

"I am sorry, I didn't mean to shout at your mother, I respect her and she should do whatever she wants 

            "Are you sure, it didn't look like it though!"
