264: Can I Call You Mum?

🥀HappyvReading❤🌹

Noelle had washed up and was in shorts and a huge t-shirt. She walked in announcing the dinner time for everyone. Tim bid us goodbye and left us for our meal. He had made some sumptuous meal. Nimo was in charge of making the table I don't know if they had a rule here but it seems they were put right.

She had placed every plate in place. Five plates to be specific. They might have added a new chair when I came in because it was squeezed next to the head of the table.

Rose and Zeke jumped to the table. They all knew where they are sitting. Except for the seats that were on the head of the table. Noelle mentioned for Davids to seat and I was asked to sit next to her. You don't know how I wanted to sit next to her. I looked at Noelle and wanted to ask her to sit next to Davids and I sit in her chair because the situation may be worse.

Worse from what I don't know? It is just a meal, can we sit down and eat. Just pray I don't choke on the meal like the first time. Or do you think if I choke on my meal I will get a chance to touch her? let's just forget about that.

Noelle was the first to serve her meal. She placed a reasonable amount of food on her plate and sat down passing the bowl to Rose. She then stared at Davids who was busy looking into her empty plate.

"I don't want to repeat myself today Nimo, vegetables on your plate."

Is that why she was looking at Davids trying to see if she was going to make her take vegetables. She hates vegetables, especially broccoli and would rather just take more proteins than them. Right now Davids was tight on them and she couldn't escape it. I didn't want to interfere in their discussion. I watched as she picked the bowl with vegetables and stuffed it with broccoli. Davids smiled and Nimo looked at way showing an angry face.

Zeke gave Davids the bowl. Looking at my side, I had not placed anything on the plate, I didn't want to eat too much though. Right now in the model industry, I am trying to maintain my figure.

Davids placed food on her planet, but that was not hers because she exchanged the plates when she was done. The food was mine and I was supposed to be taking it. What would she put a lot like this and then exchange the plate for me?

             Why did you do that?

"Please shut your mouth, everyone is eating and talking while eating is bad table manners."

I frowned and Nimo was busy laughing with her mouth all closed. I thought that someone was going to support me here but not really. The kids have their plates full and no one is eating like some toddler.

I had to insert my fork into the plate and start eating my meal before it gets cold. The company of some slow music was followed as we silently munched on the food.

"You all know, there is no food supposed to be left on the plate or now, so you all better finish everything."

Her authoritative voice again tried to tell us that we needed to finish everything. The kids nodded and went on with their meal. I looked at Zeke who shy away from food and rarely finished his meals. He was eating, seriously eating his meal like nothing. His plate was full of vegetable, rice on the side and some little meat to accompany it. Glass of water looked like a must thing for everyone.

I love the way things are done in this condo. Everyone is cooperative and the kids are not disturbing the way I thought they would be. Once they were done, the plates were picked from the table with the three kids while Davids walked away holding hers and placed it in the kitchen sink.

Rose and Zeke stood on the sink with the support of the two bars to help them reach the sink. They were washing the utensils while Rose was rinsing and drying them off. Davids helped to place them back in the cupboard. This all is new. The three kids are cooperating. Noelle was busy wiping the table and arranging everything in place.

You guys never used to do this while we were on the Island?

I wanted to know what made them do this. I thought they were going to eat and then jump to their beds like spoiled brats.

"No one does our work here mum and the first day, Rose was washing his plate then rinsing it. So instead of doing all that alone, we agreed to exchange between the three of us. Uncle Davids helped us to store them. Plus we have to learn to live without aunt Mirrah."

I understood them. They have to do their work on their own and not depend on anyone.  After they were done. They had to do some personal reading for thirty minutes before they each went into their beds.

Nimo had shown me a video of her room but I wanted to see it with my eyes. Rose and Zeke went to the same room.

"Mum, why don't you sleep, it doesn't look like it will stop raining soon. Plus we have an extra room or you can sleep with me."

That's not going to happen, Davids can decide to take me home even with the rain remember she doesn't love me.

I couldn't tell my daughter that. I smiled at her. Davids was in Zeke's room. They always get bedtime motivation before sleeping. These kids don't appreciate any children's stories. For Zeke, he would either read about an upcoming fashion show or something new but not some bedtime stories.

I went with Noelle to her room. It was huge. The beautiful sky blue colour dominates the room. I loved how she dedicated the room, just like my room on the island. The bed was big, I now get why she wanted me to sleep with her in the same bed.

Aren't you afraid to sleep here on your own, I mean the bed is too big.

She shook her head and looked at me.

"This is good you know. I wanted big beds. Plus if Zeke and rose come over to watch, they can sleep here without choking each other. Plus uncle Davids is also here and she loves to watch with us during the weekend or movie nights."

I now understand why she preferred a big bed. It's good if she still thinks of the others. Her closet was neatly arranged, colours of every clothes were placed on the same side. Her shoes were neatly arranged. She has most of her shoes like Jordan because sje loves playing basketball. The sneakers are also dominating the room.

I am happy that Davids got her everything she wants.

"Mum, I was asking a question. I know maybe Zeke will also want to ask. Why do we say uncle Davids while she is a girl and not a boy?"

I looked at her and raised my brow. Everyone will be calling David Sir not madam. Her huge body made her look more like a man than a lady.

Have you ever asked her what she wants to be called? That's the only way you can know. So maybe you may ask him today or when you want to.

Nimo nodded and looked at me. I know sje wanted me to tuck her in before she sleep. I gently pulled the covers up her body and judged her a good night.

"Nights to mama, and in case you stay make sure you make us fluffy pancakes, Uncle Davids makes us crumbled eggs and smokies which are good but I miss your pancakes. "

I nodded and closed the lights.

Walking off to the living room, I had to check whether the rain had stopped though I saw through Nimo's room that it was still there.

"Come say goodnight, they are calling for you."

Davids told and she walked into Nimo's room. I walked to Zeke and Rose. They were not yet asleep but I know they are tired and going to sleep anytime.

I bid them goodnight and they were happy.

                              "Excuse me?"

Rose startled me from my movements. I turned around and looked at him as he hid his face in the sheets.

Yes Rose, and you are not supposed to close your eyes or be shy, what is it?

"I don't know how to ask but I was asking, would you mind if I called you mum.?"

I looked at Rose and then at Zeke who was also staring at me. I didn't know if it was a good thing to allow him to call me mother when her mother is still around.

                 Rose, what about your mother?

"I will also call her mother and I don't mind having two mums. I mean we have a lot of uncles and aunts why not two mums?"

"Yes mum, it's only if he jas two mums."

Zeke was supporting him. I looked at both of them and nodded.

That means if you call me Aunt again we have a problem, okay?

They both nodded and bid me a good night. I walked out of the room.

Let's wait for the rain and head home.
