CHAPTER 33

Josh contacted his father on

phone to ask for Linda's address

but was disappointed when his father

said he doesn't know where Linda

lives now. So Josh had no choice but

to wait until when Linda decides to

contact him.

Linda has been very busy as she is

vying for a contract which if she gets,

will be the biggest contract she has

ever gotten since she started her

career. Different architects have been

contacted by a company to design

their latest Estate and whichever

architect has the best designs and

ideas will be awarded the contract. It

is a huge and difficult job and that's

the reason Linda invited two of her

friends over and switched off her

phone because she doesn't want any

distractions. She, Jack, and Nathan

have been working non-stop as they

keep coming up with different designs

which seems good at the beginning

but later turns out to be one of the

worst designs. Linda was very tired

and needed sleep but she couldn't

sleep because of the work at hand

and she has also forgotten about Josh.

 It was only now that she felt a bit

dizzy that she remembered that she

was pregnant and she also promised

her baby daddy that she will call him.

She picked up the phone and dialed

Josh's number and immediately it

connected, she was surprised at

how agitated he sounded. "Hi Josh,

I know I promised to call you, but I

forgot because I've been very busy."

Linda, I am very sorry about what you

saw at my office the other day and I

promise you that it will never happen

again. I know that you are angry but

please just come back home.

 His behavior seemed weird to Linda

and she said "I am home. I am at my

house and I am not angry at you.

Josh, it is your life and you are free to

do whatever it is you want to do with

it because I really don't care. Like I

said before, I am very busy and I

need to get back to work now so

can we talk later?" Josh couldn't

believe that this woman does not

even care like his friend said she

would care." Linda, please hold on.

Can I have your house address at

least?" while Josh was still trying

to get Linda's house address, she

disconnected the call.

Josh couldn't just sit idle and wait for

Linda to contact him like a little boy

waiting for his mama. He picked up

his phone and called someone to get

a particular address for him. Within

an hour, he received a text message

from whoever he called and Linda's

address was there.

 "Now Linda, let's go find out what you

are doing that's keeping you very

busy." Josh drove to the area where

Linda lives and was surprised to see

that it was not far from his place. He

began to wonder if he has been given

the wrong address because never

would he have imagined that Linda

was so close yet far away. When he

got there, he found a spot to park

his car before going on to ring the

doorbell. When the door was opened,

the first thing that surprised and

pissed him off was the person who

opened the door. When he rang the

bell, he wasn't expecting to see a

man and just when he thought he

has seen enough to piss him off for

a week, he saw another one when

he entered and said himself "wow!

Linda has really been very busy."

 The young man who opened the door

was surprised at the way Josh walked

into the apartment and was about to

pull him when he heard Linda's

surprised voice. "Hey! Josh, how did

you locate this place because I

don't remember giving you my

address." Josh laughed and said, "well,

let's just say that I am a finder." He

walked up to Linda, hugged her, and

kissed her on the lips. She felt very

awkward as she said to her friends

"guys, this is my friend Josh and Josh,

these are my friends Jack and Nathan."

After the introduction,  the guys all

smiled at each other awkwardly.

Josh made a face at Linda as he said

"are you truly introducing me to your

friends as just your friend?" Josh looked

at the guys and said "I am not a friend.

She is my runaway girlfriend who has

been telling me that she is very busy

and that's the reason she can't talk on

the phone." Linda ran up to Josh and

quickly dragged him away from the

sitting room and into her room. "What

is wrong with you? You and I know that

we are not in a relationship, so what

are you trying to do? " Josh smiled as

he looked at her beautiful face. "What

other relationship could be better than

what we have? You are carrying our

child and I want to marry you so that

we can give our children a better home

where they can have the love from

both parents." Linda looked at Josh

like he was speaking Latin. The words

she was hearing from Josh were

sounding strange to her ears so she

touched his forehead to be sure that

he is not running a fever because

sometimes, fevers can make people

delusional and they say weird things.

"Josh this is not the place and time

to discuss this. My friends are just

outside and we are working on

something very important to me

and my career, so I will really

appreciate it if this conversation can

hold on." After speaking, Linda was

about to turn around and leave when

Josh suddenly hugged her. He held

her tight to him and breathed in her

scent as he has missed it. She rolled

her eyes while in his arms before she

felt his mouth on her ears. As he

was kissing her ears, Linda sighed

and a little moan escaped her mouth.

"Don't stress yourself too much.

Consider the baby." He whispered

into her ears before letting her go.

She smiled and told him that lunch

will soon be served and asked if he

was interested.

 After hearing that question, Josh told

himself that he will be very stupid to

decline lunch. They went back into

the sitting room and that was when

Josh really saw the scattered sheets

on the floor. When he saw those

sheets on the floor and the other

guys still working on something, he

cursed his dirty mind for thinking

something else when he first came in.

 He walked up to the guys and was

surprised to see that they were

working on a  development plan. He

couldn't imagine how busy they've

been just as Linda said because

they were doing both manual and

digital work. "Hey guys, sorry to

interrupt you but can I know what

you're working on?" Nathan looked

up and said it's just an estate

development plan. We've been trying

to come up with a particular design

but there is just this thing missing

from it and we can't seem to wrap

our heads around it.

 The guys continued working and

Josh used that opportunity to look

around the apartment. Linda's

apartment isn't big, it is just okay

and cozy with beautiful designs

which made Josh ask himself if

she was an architect or an interior

decorator.

Josh walked into the kitchen to help

Linda but was surprised to see her

spaced out while the food was burning.

He walked close and tapped on her

shoulder but when she turned around,

she said "I have found the missing

piece." Josh could not understand

what she was saying as she rushed

into the sitting room to meet her

friends. He went after her and

discovered she was talking about

the designs. He went back into the

kitchen and continued preparing the

food as he kept wondering how many

dishes Linda has burned in the course

of her career.

She rushed back into the kitchen

when Josh was done cooking and

was already dishing out the food.

When she rushed in, she was saying,

"oh my God, lunch is already roasted."

She stood at the kitchen door

surprised when she saw Josh dishing

out the food. "Are you surprised? I

decided to make myself useful around

the house as there are no patients

here for me to treat." She smiled as

she walked into the kitchen and said

thank you for not letting us starve

this afternoon. Josh held onto her

waist and pulled her close to him as

he kissed her and said "I don't want

you to tell me thank you because my

services are not for free." She was

playing with his beard as she asked

"so what is your price?" Josh smiled

while kissing her neck as he said

"Linda you are playing with fire. Do

not start something that you cannot

end." She laughed and tickled him.

"Just try me and you will know that I

am up to the task because I am also

starving for something else." Those

words from Linda, set Josh on fire

as he began to kiss her fiercely. They

were busy kissing when the voices

of Nathan and Jack interrupted them

and Linda felt very embarrassed

because she has introduced Josh

to them a while ago as just her friend.

They all had lunch in an awkward

atmosphere because the two lovers

in front of them were shamelessly

displaying their affection. Nathan and

Jack wanted nothing more than to

kick Josh out of the house so that

their friend can come back to her

senses and they can resume their work.

After lunch, Josh bid them goodbye

as he had a hospital to run. Before

leaving, he hugged Linda and said

"if I call your phone and it's switched

off or you don't answer, I will come here

and chase your friends out so that

you and I can spend the whole day

together in bed. If you know you don't

want that, you had better answer my

calls when I call. Take care of the

baby and be a good girl." After

saying that, he grabbed her ass

before entering his car and driving

out. 

As Linda walked back into her

apartment after Josh left, she saw

Jack and Nathan weirdly smiling at

her. "Guy's, what is that smile about?"

Jack looked at her and said, just a

friend right? You never told us that

you kiss your friends that way, else

we will have also come in for a kiss

like that, or Nathan what do you

think? "You guys are gross. Please

go into my toilet and flush down your

dirty minds." The guys laughed and

Jack walked up to Linda and said,

"I'm really happy to see you happy.

It's about time you moved on, but I

have my reservations on this one. I

am not trying to say that he's a bad

person. All I'm trying to say is, just

be careful with him. We have more

than enough on our plate right now

that topping it with a heartbreak is

not an option. Linda chuckled and

said, "well, this one is a whole load

of trouble and we are having a baby

but don't get me wrong, we are not in

a relationship." The guys laughed and

said unanimously, "you are joking." She

shook her head and Nathan tapped

his forehead as he said "Linda do

you have a sign on your head that

says trouble here I am, come and

get me? You know that you easily

fall in love with any guy that you like.

I can't imagine that you saw trouble

and know that it is trouble yet you

jumped in. I hope this one is not

after your money?" Linda laughed

and said I think the question

should be rephrased because he's

got more money than me. And I

want to have kids with him because

I'm done with guys and relationships.

I just want to live my life on my own

terms now and however, I please. I

am tired of the chains and constraints

of relationships and the pain they

also bring along with them. So guys,

let's stop talking about me and head

back to work.

Jack looked at Linda and said, "lucky

you for just deciding to have a child

on impulse, and here it is. unlike me

who has been married for years

without having any even though

we've been visiting different fertility

hospitals." Linda shouted from the

kitchen " I heard what you just said,

Jack. I did not decide to have a child

on impulse okay."

Cherry called her godmother who is

also Josh's mom and was faking a

cry as she spoke with so much

grievance. When Josh's mum heard

her voice, she was very concerned and

asked her "Cherry darling, what

happened to you? Who dared to make

you cry like this?" Cherry cried even

more and said "last night, I was at a

Bar, and coincidentally, I came across

your son. He was dead drunk so I

had to get his address and drive him

back home. After helping him into

his house, he refused to let me go

as he thought that I was Linda." She

paused so that she improve on her

acting skills before resuming with

an unsteady voice. "Your son pulled

me and forced himself on me then

this morning when he woke up, he

chased me out like a dog but not

before forcing contraceptives down

my throat and also giving me an

injection and calling me all sorts of

names. You know that I have always

liked Joshua right from when I was

young and that was the reason I

refused to have any boyfriends as I

was saving my virginity for him. The

man I love, finally took my virginity

brutally last night only to wake up

this morning and deny the fact that I

am a virgin. He also told me that he

can return my virginity through

surgery. He said so many horrible

words to me this morning that I

don't feel like going out of my house

anymore because all I feel like doing

right now is to kill myself. I have never

been so humiliated like this in my

whole life. I have called my mum

and she wants me to come back

to the United States." Josh's mother

felt so bad for Cherry that she feels

like seeing Linda right now so that

she can strangle the b***h and kick

her out of her son's life for good. She

said to Cherry, "do not go anywhere

and do nothing because I promise

you that Joshua will have no other

choice than to marry you when I am

done with him, and over my dead

body will their child come into this

world. Joshua thinks that he can

give me bastards with low-life girls,

I will like to see him try.
