CHAPTER 34

Kamsy decided to take his little

lover on vacation to Paris as he has

planned to propose to her over there.

He wants them to travel to different

places and also get married to her

before her belly starts bulging. He

wants to fill up the rest of the year

with good memories so that each

time Lota flashes back to the year

that she was sold by barrister Fred,

she will also remember the good

memories that came with it. They

are still trying to decide whether they

want to know the sex of their babies

or not. Lota cannot wait to know

because she fears that the babies

will be girls and according to her,

she is afraid of giving birth to girls

so that the cycle of female exploitation

and suffering which began from her

mother will not continue with her

daughters. Kamsy on the other hand

does not want to know the sex of

the babies as he wants to prove to

her that any sex that she gives birth

to is okay by him. Kamsy has

always loved baby girls and wishes

that their babies are girls because

he can't wait to see them argue over

little things. Sometimes when he

closes his eyes, it's almost like he

could hear little girls calling him daddy.

Lota walked into the house all sweaty

because she has been picking flowers

from the garden. She loves to do that

every day because she loves the

smell of fresh flowers in the house

and Kamsy has been really happy

about that because since she started

picking flowers from the garden, her

appetite for sex has reduced. She

looked towards him and smiled as

a plan came into her head. "Kamsy,

come and kiss me. "Kamsy quickly

stood from where he was seated

and rushed down to kiss her until

we heard her saying that she wanted

him to kiss her sweaty neck. "Yuck

honey, come on don't do that to me

do you want me to be sick from

ingesting bacteria?" She looked at

him angrily and said " are you trying

to call me a pillar of bacteria now?

I can see that I have now become

so gross that the sites of my body

now irritates you. " k was really

confused as he couldn't understand

why she is acting this way. He felt

like calling Joshua to ask if this

attitude was a new pregnancy

hormone but even if he wants to

call Joshua he has to deal with her

first before calling Joshua later. He

walked up to her and raised her chin

"how dare I call you a pillar of bacteria?

You know that I can lick from your

head down to the under of your feet

without thinking twice but honey

you are just coming from outside

and you've also been to the barn.

Well, if you insist." He was about

necking her when she couldn't hold

it in anymore and burst into laughter.

She showed him the phone that she

was holding and said, "I took a picture

of you. Just look at your face. It

looks very funny." She continued

laughing but Kamsy did not see

anything funny about that so he

turned and walked away. when Lota

saw that he was walking away from

her she chased after him and kept

calling him to come back but he

refused to turn around and walked

into their room. He went and sat on

the bed as he began to type on his

phone. "Kamsy, I'm sorry I played a

stupid joke on you. I did not mean

to upset you." As she was apologizing

he burst into laughter and said "you

should have seen your face also."

Lota just quietly turned around and

walked into the bathroom because

she couldn't complain as she was

the one who started the bad joke.

While she was in the bathroom

having a bath her lover sneaked in

and wrapped his arms around her

"do you think I will let you have your

bath all alone? I'm a very generous

guy and I am here to help you with

your bath madam." She smiled and

said "thanks for your generosity

mister but I must decline because

I don't accept help from strangers."

They were both happy while spending

time in the bathroom together.

A few minutes after they were out

of the bathroom, Lota pulled Kamsy

to the sofa and said, I need to talk

to you seriously and you need to

answer me truthfully. When Kamsy

heard her say those words,  he

became slightly scared as she

knows how to ask questions that

will put him in a tight corner. She

started by saying "Kamsy, I am

only young, not stupid and blind. I

know that you know who my father

is and I want you to tell me. Please

I just want to know and I don't care

even if he is a gatekeeper. The

curiosity of not knowing who he is

killing me inside so please tell me

who my father is." He took deep

breaths as he looked at his future

wife and said "Why not let it go?

knowing who your father is, is not

likely to bring you any joy rather it

will cause you more pain. I have

refused to talk about this topic for

your sake because I want you to be

happy." She frowned at him as she

said, "you are not inside my head, so

you can't tell if it will cause me pain.

Give me the information that I need

and let me decide the kind of

emotion that I will display." He

sighed "never say I didn't warn you.

Your father is the same person who

sold you to me." Lota could not

believe her ears as she felt that he

was lying. "You must be joking right?

I really don't know what to think

about Fred now. You are saying that

barrister Fred is my father? So that

pig was my father and he still had

the mind to do what he did to me."

Hearing these words today really

made Lota feel bad as she wondered

how much Fred would have hated

her and her mother to the point that

he sold her without looking back.

She remembered the day that she

escaped from Kamsy and Fred saw

her. He still didn't have any pity on

her and was still talking about selling

her to an underground prostitution

market. She wished that she could

see him now and slap his stupid face.

When she first heard about Fred's

death, she said that he deserved it

but thinking back to it now, she

wished that Fred was still alive so

that she will be the one to kill him

by herself. 

Kamsy held her and said, do you

understand the reason why I couldn't

tell you anything? I couldn't just jump

in here and say hello Lota, Fred is

your father. I would like you to do

away with all the anger in your heart

because it will do nothing but consume

you. Fred has offended many people

and not just you and your mother

alone but now, he is dead and you

need to let it go. If you keep bottling

up that anger, you will end up taking

it out on the wrong person and by then,

you will only have yourself to blame.

She nodded her head and asked him

quietly "How many children does he

have apart from me? Was he nice to

them?" Kamsy chuckled to himself

and said,  "nobody knows. We only

know about a new child anytime that

one pops up from somewhere." She

laughed and said, "how  ironic."

Mrs. Ejike who is also Josh's mother

drove through the bush paths as she

kept asking herself how these people

manage to live in this kind of place

filled with all sorts of trees and

grasses. Only people who know

about the existence of this Village

know that people live here because

it doesn't appear to be like a place

where human beings inhabit. She

finally got to the river and parked

her car somewhere before taking a

boat across the river to the other side.

When she got to the other side, she

began to walk deeper into the forest.

She took a deep breath when she

came out in the open Village and

walked into a compound. When she

got there, she asked for a particular

person and she was told that he has

passed on but she can speak to his son.

She was directed to where she can

find the man's son which means that

she will have to walk a few kilometers

into the forest again. As she was

walking, she began to say to herself

"Linda I came here especially for you.

By the time I get what I want out of

this place, you will regret the day that

you set your eyes on my son. You

will pay for the stress that I am

going through because I can't

remember the year I stepped my

feet in this Village but you pushed

me to the wall and I had to find my

way back here. People who have

made me come here in the past

years have always regretted their lives.

She finally got to the hut and went

inside to see the man. The young

man looked at her and said "I don't

think I have seen this face before.

You are new here." When she heard

what the young man said, she

laughed and said "you have not seen

you here because it's been a long time

since I was here. I was close with your

father but I hear now that he has joined

his ancestors.

The young man looked at her intensely

before saying, "so what can I do for

you?" She came closer and looked

directly into his eyes and said "when

your father was still here, there is a

special treat he gives to me for

pregnant women. Do you have the

power to prepare such a treat for

me?" The young man looked at her

and smiled. "How potent do you

want it to be?" When she heard the

young man's question, she smiled

and a particular kind of evil joy

spread across her face. "I want

something that is very potent and

can make a woman lose her ability

of ever having a child." The young

man nodded and said for something

that potent, I will need a few days."

She shook her head at the young man

"the problem we have here is that I

don't have a few days. I came from

the city and it's very far so I would

like you to work your magic. And if

you can do this for me, I will surprise

you." The young man looked at her

and said, "the only one that I have

on ground is for somebody and she

will be here for it tomorrow." Mrs.

Ejike smiled and said "that's perfect.

Give the person some excuses and

I'll pay ten times what the person is

supposed to pay you." When the

young man heard that, he didn't bother

wasting more time and immediately

packaged the substance for the woman. 

 By the time Mrs. Ejike returned to the

city, it was already late at night and

she almost got into trouble with some

hoodlums on the way but narrowly,

she escaped them all thanks to her

good driving skills. After escaping

the hoodlums, she smiled and said,

"I am putting my through all this stress

and danger because of you Linda, so

do not complain when I make you

pay heavily for it." When she got to

her house and into her room, she

brought out the substance but did

not open it as she remembered the

warning that the young man gave her.

The young man said that if a pregnant

woman inhales it for five minutes, she

will lose her baby and the ability to

ever have children again, and if a

woman who is not pregnant but

wishes to have children in the future

inhales it, she can kiss her dream of

ever having children goodbye because

it will never happen.

Mrs. Ejike smiled as she does not

care about inhaling it because she

has no plans of ever having children

again. She made up her mind that

she will invite Linda to a hotel room

for a chat and couldn't wait to see

how it all unfolds. By the time she

loses her baby and they keep trying

to have another one without any

success she is very sure that her

son will have to give up on Linda and

look for other alternatives.

Josh and the others were at an

emergency meeting which the

bloodline called for. Everyone knew

why this meeting was called because

since the last time they fought against

the lady vampire and her Shadows,

no meetings have been held and

everyone has been quiet trying to

nurse their injuries and mourn their

dead. Josh and Kamsy made sure

that they did not leave any traces

of their men behind so that the

bloodline can never trace anything

but to them. The new Ace was very

happy to announce to them that no

activity of the lady vampire and her

Shadows has been recorded since

their battle. Although they all know

that the lady vampire and her

Shadows have not been wiped out

but it seems the battle took a toll

on them. That battle did not only

affect lady vampire and her Shadows

as even the bloodline has been

marked as an evil cult and any of

its members who are caught will

be treated like a criminal. The new

Ace has been trying to use his

connections to get the bloodline

back to where it was before the

battle, but it's not been as there are

many who have always wanted to

see the bloodline fall so that they

can take its place. The Ace did most

of the talking in today's meeting as

many people did not have anything

to say. After assuring members of

the bloodline that they still have

immunity in certain states in the

country, he introduced their newest

member. He began by saying, "As

you all know, one of our very

important members made a

sacrifice for us, and through him,

we were able to discover the hideout

of our enemy. Today I am introducing

to you someone who will be taking

his place and she deserves it

because she has done her homework

and she is also his daughter. Cherry

can we have you in front of the other

members now?" When Cherry stepped

out, the person who was most shocked

was Josh. He couldn't believe that

she will be this evil to sort out the

bloodline and become a member. He

has always known that she is

manipulative but he never connected

her to being evil. Everyone was

surprised to learn that Fred has

another daughter somewhere who

has willingly come to take his place in

the bloodline.
