CHAPTER 55

Lota opened her eyes and wanted to get up but she felt very weak and in pains. Everything felt complicated as she could hear many voices and see many faces almost at the same time. Her head began to ache heavily as she screamed and passed out because she couldn't bear the pain.

Sade and the doctor ran in when they heard her scream and they were surprised that she woke up because she wasn't supposed to wake up at this time. "Are you sure what you are doing will be successful? Because I don't understand why everything is going wrong. If all else fails, my only wish is that she should be alright. I'm already beginning to have a double mind and ask myself if I have taken the right decision. I just hope I don't end up regretting what I have done and making her hate me forever because I am only trying to help by helping her fulfill her dreams. I believe that she has been brainwashed into thinking that she is in love." 

The doctor took a deep sigh after hearing Sade's talks. "Don't you think that you should have let them be? The girl seemed happy where she was and I don't think she will thank you for dragging her out of there. Let's just hope that she never finds out her true identity."

She shook her head and assured the doctor that Lota will never know who she was in the past as she will never allow that to happen. She told the doctor that Lota is young and inexperienced so she is infatuated with the first man who ever showed her love and care because what she feels for Kamsy, is not called love as that is the first definition of infatuation. Sade told the doctor that she is very angry at Kamsy because he acted irresponsibly and took advantage of a vulnerable girl. She told him that if Kamsy really loved Lota as he claimed, he would have allowed her to explore and see the world before he gets married to her but he knows that if she goes out there and see the world, her eyes will be opened and she will see men who are better than him and also see that there is a lot to life than marriage and having children.

Sade looked at the young mother who was lying on the bed and felt even more sad. "Don't worry baby, I am here for you. I know how much you love this child, so I will not take away the joy of motherhood from you as your child will still be introduced to you as yours but I will make sure that that selfish pedophile who calls himself your husband, never walks into your life again. I will steer you to your original path in life. The one that did not include infatuation, men, and having children."

The doctor tapped on Sade's shoulder and said "sometimes you just have to calm down and know that not everybody reasons like you. Don't you think that you are forcing your plans upon this little girl? We make plans and those plans change with time and I believe that her plans have also changed. At least her husband never caged her as you are saying and did you ever try sitting with him to discuss her future? Do you even know if he has plans of sending her back to school? I felt that before you took the step that you took, you should have contacted him and discussed her future and this step should have been taken after you discover that he has no plans for her future. Don't get me wrong Sade, I am not saying that you did the wrong thing by caring for her but I feel bad for her husband and daughter whom you left behind. What if these two siblings meet in future and go into a relationship without knowing that they are siblings? What do you think will happen and who do you think will be blamed for that? Sometimes, we do things with the best intentions at heart but they never turn out to be what we expected. Many villains were once heroes and they turned to villainy because the world never appreciated the Good  that they did." 

Immediately Kamsy got the baby back, he and Joshua rushed the baby to a children's hospital that was nearby as she was in terrible shape. Joshua even wondered how the baby was still breathing after being exposed to so much cold and brutality. He turned to his friend and said "the God of your child has truly decided not to fail her because your daughter has been through a lot just in one day of coming into the world yet there is still something keeping her alive and strong."

Kamsy began to wonder who took his wife and son away. He couldn't imagine that he has amassed so much enemies because if he knew about it, he would have protected his family but this thought is just like medicine after death and he told himself that if it was just kidnap for ransom, he will be very happy and willing to pay any amount that they want him to pay. He can't believe that someone will have the guts to take away his family like that. He shouted "cowards! If you were that brave why didn't you let us face each other man to man. Why did you come behind me to steal the things that are most important to me? If you think that you could have been able to take them away from me, you should have faced me." 

Josh pitied his friend as he never knew that his friend was so much in love with Lota. Although he also loves Linda but he doesn't love her to this point that he will be willing to lay down his life for her and he really give God the glory for that. He looked at his friend and shook his head as his friend was looking like a person who has lost his mind. He kept trying to pacify his friend while filling his head with hope. As he was doing that, Kamsy did something that Joshua would have never expected in this lifetime. He burst into tears as his hand began to shake. He dumped the baby on the car seat and began to say that if Lota has not given birth to these children, she will still be here with him as nobody would have been able to come in and kidnap her.

Joshua stepped on the brakes of the car and the alighted. He opened the door and dragged his friend out as he shouted at him "pull yourself together! This is what Samira was just talking about some minutes ago. When did you become like this? Why are you making a fool of yourself by behaving this way? Do you think that this behaviour will bring back your wife and the other child? I never thought that a day will come that I will see you in a condition like this. You look terribly pathetic and I'm very sure that if Lota should see you like this, she will never want you back. You look worse than a homeless man and I think that even that baby is ashamed to call you father because no reasonable father will blame their babies for something that they are not responsible for. How is it your baby's fault that she came into this world on this day? You should rather blame yourself for everything that you have put this child through. It's a miracle that she is still alive and conscious. That girl was crying so much but kept quiet the moment that you carried her. Does that not show you the kind of bond that you share with that child? Do you know how envious I was of that? Do you know what I will give to set my eyes on my baby who I do not even know where her mother has ran to? For now, you are the only family that this baby has and she will depend on you for everything so you had better pull yourself together and be ready to take responsibility for this child because you brought her into this world without asking for her permission. You decided everything and this child had no choice than to come because she was called by you." After Josh was done yelling at his friend, he went back into the car and sat at the driver's seat as he hooted the horn of the car signifying that his friend should come in and behave like a father that he is.

Amaka's mother has been keeping track of her daughter's movement. There is nothing that Amaka does that is new to her mother because she has been keeping a tab on her. She has promised herself that Amaka will never be happy in this life as long as she is alive. She was holding her daughter's picture as she began to speak to the picture "you think that you can ruin my life after everything that I have done for you and live happily? You must be joking because on the day that your father threw me out of his house, I made a vow to myself that I will take it upon myself to ruin every successful relationship that you go into. You child of the devil you will know no peace in this life because I will make sure that I take everything that makes you happy away from you. I guess you forgot that I am your mother when you ruined my life. You got all that evil from me and believe me, there is still more where you got yours from. She used a knife to stab the picture to the wall and on the wall, there were pictures of Zion, Zoe, and their parents.

Mrs Austin welcomed the Investor into her office but was surprised when she saw the face of the person because this was not the face of the Investor that she was expecting. "Who are you and why did you impersonate the person that I was expecting?" Amaka's mother smiled and said "don't get it wrong, I did not impersonate anybody because I truly am an investor and the only difference is that I am not here to invest in your company, rather I am here to invest in your family. You and your husband are so interested in your businesses that you have failed in the area of your family. Don't get me wrong here, I am not trying to say that you are bad parents but if only you had time to look into your children's life, you would have known that a viper has just found its way into your family." Mrs Austin was confused as she does not know this woman or what the woman is talking about. She felt very angry that a total stranger will walk into her office and start to lecture her about her family. "You had better introduce yourself to me now and tell me what you are here for before I call the police and security on you. As you already know, I am so interested in my business that I really have no time for idle gossip or impersonators thank you." 

Amaka's mother was calm and did not even flinch at the woman's threat. She picked a pen from Mrs Austin's table and began to twirl it around as she chuckled to herself and told Mrs Austin "if only you know how valuable the information that I bring to you is, you wouldn't sit there and threaten me with the police. I know all about your son Zion and his fiance Amaka. I know that you see the girl as someone who is very responsible and hard-working but you are seriously mistaken because everything that Amaka has, she got it through prostitution. Your daughter Celine was right about her but you were so blinded by Amaka's false appearance. Believe me when I say that that girl can manipulate anyone just as she is manipulating your son to do her bidding." 

Mrs Austin got angrier and told the woman "I can remember vividly that I made myself clear a while ago that I am not interested in idle gossip. If I want to investigate my son's fiance, you are not the one to come in here and tell me anything about her as there are credible sources that I can use to get information on her. So woman, I would like you to crawl back to whatever hell hole you crawled out from because if you are still here in the next two minutes, you will regret walking into my office today because I will make sure that you regret it." 

Amaka's mother stood and raised her voice at Mrs Austin. "Instead of this attitude that you are putting up, you should be appreciating me for taking out time from my very busy schedule to come in here and warn you of an imminent danger that's about to find its way into your family! Can you just shut up for one minute and listen to what I have to say? You are here speaking grammar to me. If you were so good at keeping your family together, you wouldn't have punished your daughter necessarily because she was telling the truth." 

Amaka's mother brought out a few pictures of Fred and Amaka on their wedding day. She showed the picture to Mrs Austin and said, " if thes picture are not convincing enough, here is also a video for you to watch and know that Amaka was once married."

The same video which Amaka used to ruin her life was the same video she showed to Zion's mother. She smiled within her and told her self that in this life, the measure you give is the measure you receive. She told Zion's mother to slot in the USB and play it so that she can understand what she's talking about and also know the kind of woman that her son is about to get married to.

Mrs Austin slot in the USB and her eyes couldn't take what she was seeing because it was pure pornography which involved three men, the woman seated in front of her, and Amaka. She quickly stopped the video and pulled out the USB as she looked at the woman and said "it is obvious that you are also in this video so may I know your reason for bringing me this information? "Amaka's mother smiled and dropped more pictures on the table and seeing those pictures, made Mrs Austin disgusted because in those pictures, Amaka was having sex with animals.

Amaka's mother smiled and told Mrs Austin "I want nothing in return and do not think too much about this piece of information because I am just a concerned person who do not want your son to make the greatest mistake of his life and bring disgrace into your family." After speaking, she stood and left.
