CHAPTER* 75:CONFUSION.

After they checked the documents presented to them. Ivana was the first one to lift her head up,she looked at her mother inlaw as she pressed her lips together. She had everal experated sighs before she held her chin in her palm,while her elbow on the table. Tears were treatening to fall down her cheeks but she blocked several times to prevent them.

Mr Mwangi felt anger and sadness the same time. He had throbbing veins in the neck as he wrabbed arms around himself.

Everybody had different emotions and reactions as they finished reading the final clause in the documents presented by Mrs Wechuli. The only people who seemed happy were the two culprits Mr Mukhongo and Mrs Wechuli. Although Mr Mukhongo was trying to suppress his laughter, a smile was visible on his lips. He could have pumped a fist in the air if they were alone but it with them.

One of the board members known as Mzee blew out his cheeks. Suspicion was visible in his face,then:"I am wondering Mrs Wechuli,Why will Mr Bombwe leave you a company to run while he had a daughter and a brother?"

"Yes why?"

"Board members l was surprised too this morning when My lawyer came to see me.Thats why l decide to come and see the way the company is doing and luckily l found you deciding on who should take over"

"In my opinion l think you can't convice us Madam,these are just sham papers. I won't believe that Mr Bombwe wrote this to you. Unless you are a custodian of this company for the sake of your daughter in-law. Which is not understand!" Mr Mwangi said.

"Yes she is just pretending"

"You mean she is the mother in law if the heiress?"

"Then something is fishy"

The members talked amongest themselves. How can she decide to come out now.

"I will provide proof that they are not sham but authentic,you continue airing out your,concerns,emotions, questions,everything you have.You will be answered" She said with unblinking focused eye contact depicting her pride.

She signaled the lawyer and leaned in his ear and murmured something. The lawyer went outside and after five minutes he came back carrying another file in his hand.

"What l mean is this, he wrote that before even my son could marry her daughter. I knew him before we become in-laws,he was my one of closest friends.

"I was his closest friend, he never talked about you,he never told me that you will be the CEO when he dies. Even his dead came us a surprise to him through an accident. He had several plans about his company,he always talked about retiring a honorable man."Mr Mwangi addressed no one in particular.

"Sir we have friends and frenemy, l think you now know where you belonged in his life now" she said as she opened the file the lawyer had handed to her. She started distributing other papers to him.

"Those are the photocopies of this"she lifted up a paper in her hand. I will keep the original"

"When did my dad transfer all his shares to you?" Ivana asked her mother in-law.

"You have eyes sweetheart" Mrs Wechuli winked.

Ivana picked her purse and walked outside the board room. Tears were falling down her cheeks. 'How can you do this to me dad,how am l supposed to continue your legacy,when the only legacy you left to another woman's hand?'.

Since she didn't come with her car or driver. Paul had dropped her to the company. He walked outside the company compound. The surbodinates who know her wanted to greet her but seeing the state she was in restrained and continued with what they were doing.

When she reached the highway she took a taxi and left.

"If Mr Bombwe transferred a his shares to you who was the witness and the lawyer?"Mr Mwangi asked.

"Perfect questio here is the first witness, my son was the second witness, and the lawyer is here too, any other question?" She  swilled in the chair.

Mr Mwangi was left in awe as his gaze was fixed on Mr Mukhongo. "How is that possible mr CEO, we have been pressuring you to hold this meeting and inform your niece to attend yet you know a of this?"

"I wanted to te all of you, but no one was ready to listen to me,then who would have believed me then?, It's good that you have made a fool out of yourselves today" he winked.

Mr Mzee asked, "but Mrs Wechuli said that he learned about this in the morning, this means you didn't know that Mr Bombwe had transferred shares to you?"

Everybody in the room had an expectat gaze upon her. Mrs Wechuli had a creased brow as she didn't know that she might contradict himself with her aim of manipulating them. He fidgeted in hear seat,cleared her throat then wiped her invisible sweat before saying."l am sorry sir but l think you didn't hear me very well, l said l learned about this meeting in the morning after my lawyer came to see me"

If only the had the recording, she will preparing by now to go to jail. But their was no voice recording for that. Although Mr Mzee wanted to talk and ask her further information and questions. He decided that there was no point for doing that. The only thing left was pulling out his shares.

"Then who informed your lawyer that we are having a board meeting?"the other member asked.

This question got her off guard, "Hey this is not a criminal offence,why are you interocating me, this is my company now whether you like it or not,My lawyer won't answer your silly question for now if you want take me to court" She yelled at the members.

"No it's fine l will answer him" the lawyer said.
