After Ivana have walked away John continued looking at her until his mother pulled him down. He didn't believe that he had the courage to speak to her. From the outside appearances Ivana appeared to be a tough and a person full of Pride. So John was so skeptical about approaching her. 'I can't believe that you are a nice person to those extend.' he thought as he looked at his hand.'I am sorry that I had judged you wrongly. Indeed don't judge a book by its cover.'
"What if she turns back and find you still staring at her, she will be suspicious of us."Miss Grace said worriedly.
"Mum, you see how down to earth she is, why can't we follow her and tell her mum. I know she is going to accept us right away." John said happily.
"John, did you really examine your sister? I don't want her being stressed because of us. Your sister is pregnant and I don't want her being stressed." Mis Grace said as she left with the wreath to her husband's grave that's after she had confirmed that Ivana have left.
"Mum I don't know why you always care about her so much yet you don't care about me. Remember that I am your son too.Do you know how much it's difficult to address her as Ma'am yet she is my sister?" John said as he followed her behind.
"Oh really? You would have called her by her name. Then you would have a clear explanation how you know her." Miss Grace said as she placed the wreath between the two candles that Ivana had lit them.
"Why do I feel like you are favouring her, am I really your son? Or I am just a boy that you picked on the street and groomed to be a man that I am right now?" John asked his mother.
The way Miss Grace looked at him,she wanted to ignore him but when she noticed the tears in his eyes, she opted to answer him.
"Stop having your evil thoughts about yourself John, Ivana is your sister, not even your half sister as you always think. The thing is I really don't know how to introduce ourselves to her. We cannot just pump into her and say Hey, we are your family, I am your mother and this is your brother. We can't do that, let's give her time and I know time will come when fate will bring us together. Miracle will happen son." Miss Grace explained to him.
She wiped his tears as they squatted at the side of the grave. They said what they had to say to his dad and her husband respectively is silence. Miss Grace wiped away the tears in her eyes as she stepped back waiting for her son to finish.
John finished with a sign of the cross then walked to his mother
"Why are are you shedding tears mum? I thought that you never loved dad,and that's the reason why you kept him away from me." John said when he noticed his mother returning the handkerchief in the purse.
"Don't talk about thing you have no idea about, okay mind your tongue next time and this is the last time we will be visiting the grave." Miss Grace said seriously.
"Why? What have I done?" John asked.
Miss Grace was about answering him when the person who takes care of the graves and guard the cemetery approached them.
"Good day Ma'am, I don't mean to mendle in your affairs but what was your relationship with Mr Bombwe? I have been seeing you coming to visit his grave,I guess this is the second time here?" The cemetery keeper enquired.
"Aaah, I was ..." Miss Grace trailed off not knowing what to answer him as she avoided his eye contact.
"My mother used to work for him before he passed away." John said from behind.
"Is that so, but I have seen close resemblence between you and his daughter. The young woman that have just left a few minutes ago."He said as he looked at both Miss Grace and John.
Miss Grace was surprised as her mouth was left open. She turned and looked at John who was also surprised with what he had heard.
"Yeah that right sir, but the thing is... you see they always say that when you spend some years with a person you are not related with...mmmh...like you tend to look alike. Actually what I mean is I use to be his daughter's nany." She sighed when she finished talking. "Sir we will be on our way now bye." Miss Grace said as he dragged John with her.
The grave guard didn't believe what Miss Grace had told him. So he turned and looked at them as they walked out of the cemetery but Miss Grace kept on turning to look behind after every few steps.
" I think that man is suspecious of us mum," John said.
"Yes and that's why I am telling you that we won't come here again. I don't want my daughter getting the wrong signals." Miss Grace told John.
"But mum,he will help us getting connected to her, don't you get it?"
"You better stop all this crazy ideas if yours John. All you care about is living a soft life and inheriting what your dad left for her. Why can't you create your own wealth?"
"Why should I create my own wealth mum, tell me is there something that you are hiding from me?"
"You should create your own wealth because your name was no where when the list of inheritors was read. If you were or I was, the lawyer could have tried reaching or looking for us. So if you want to go and introduce yourself to your sister with your silly ideas. You are free to do so, but when something goes wrong don't involve me." Miss Grace explained.
"Okay then when she accepts me, because I know that she will then don't come introducing yourself as our mother." John retorted.
"You think she is a fool to accept any Harry,Tom and Dick in her life. You don't know what your father told her about us. As yourself why she never cared to search for us when her father died!"
