CHAPTER 213:THE OTHER BABY.
Sammy went to the room that Ivana was and sat down on the couch as he watched her. He wanted her to regain counciousness before he could leave the hospital.
Ivana's mobile phone had a password so he was unable to call any relative. Although Sammy knew Mish,he didn't have her contact.
The nurse came in and told sammy that they needed clothes for the baby and the towel to rub the baby in. He wanted to say that he was not the father and do on so he can't buy the clothes for the baby, but again he thought that it might be the perfect way to get close to Ivana.
So he walked outside the hospital and went to the nearest baby shop. Although he was not good at selecting colours, he chose the baby clothes according to the favourite colours of Ivana. He also bought baby shawls several of them. He settled the bills and came back to the hospital with a big luggage of baby clothes. He hoped that the paparazzi have not spotted him. He didn't want to start trending at that time. One of the thing he fears most was his image being tainted and also explaining the matter to his parents.
When he walked to the hospital he found that Ivana was concious and she was demanding to see her babies.
"Nurse where is my babies, I want to see them and atleast breastfeed them, I think they are hungry right now," she demanded.
"Ma'am please rest abit, I am waiting for your husband to come back. He has gone outside to buy baby clothes before we bring the babies," the nurse replied.
Ivana looked at the nurse perplexed, 'Dies that mean that Paul is here? How is that possible?' she thought while her eyes not leaving the nurse.
"My husband?do you know my husband nurse?" She asked again.
"Yes ma'am, your husband is the one who brought you here to the labour. You have a very strong man ma'am, he was present while giving birth and also he didn't leave you after that," the nurse commented.
Ivana looked at her knowing that the person they were referring to was none other than Sammy. He was the one who had brought him to the hospital. How can she tell her that Sammy was her former boyfriend and the real husband is not in the country? Although they already divorced at that young age? She didn't even enjoy her marriage.
All this time Sammy was back and he was standing at the door eavesdropping on their conversation. He smiled inwardly when Ivana didn't say anything about him being her husband.
"Okay nurse, are my babies fine by the way, I know I passed out and I didn't get to see them," she said happily.
Before the nurse could answer Sammy pushed the door open slightly and entered. He didn't want them to realize that he knew Ivana was awake. That's why he tiptoed in.
"You are awake? I was worried about you. How are you feeling right now?"
"I am fine thank you so much for helping me get into the hospital on time," she answered.
The nurse interupted their conversation when she asked for the clothes and the shawls to rub in the baby. Sammy wanted to answer her that he didn't do anything. He just did what everybody could have done.
"Nurse are you going to bring in my babies?" Ivana asked when she saw the nurse walking outside the room.
"Yes ma'am, Sir excuse me," she said then walked outside the room.
Sammy turned to look at Ivana worriedly as he held her hand in his. He wanted to break the news to her about one of the baby being dead but restrained. Ivana noticed the change in facial expression and asked him.
"What's wrong? You look so worried is something the matter Sammy, tell me?" She asked as she struggled to sit up.
"No, actually don't stress yourself sitting up babygirl you are hurting you back relax first," Sammy helped her to lay back on the bed.
He caressed her hand with his thumb lovingly but deep down he was worried about Ivana knowing the truth about the other baby.
"Ivana I don't.......Sammy paused when the door opened revealing the nurse carrying the baby in the shawl.
"My babies are very small, how come they are rubbed in one shawl? Nurse are my babies underweight or their was only one shawl,?" She asked.
The nurse stopped walking towards the bed and looked at Sammy who's head was bowed.
"Sir haven't you told her about it," the nurse asked timidly.
"Telling me about what? nurse what happened to my baby nurse? Why is anyone telling me anything? I want doctor Masika right now, he told me that I will give birth to twins," Ivana roared with anger.
The nurse placed the baby on the hospital bed,Ivana was sleeping on. She then exited hurriedly as she run to the Doctor Masika's office. Fortunately doctor Masika was just seated in the office with no appointments.
"Doctor,Ma'am Ivana is awake and she is demanding to see you right away," the nurse said.
"Is something wrong? Does she knows that one baby is dead?" He asked.
"Actually that's the reason why she is calling you," she said.
Knowing how Ivana can be sometimes he stood up a d walked to her room faster. She was taken to the private room, a room that looked like a mini- house. Ivana's room in the hospital had everything starting with a small kitchenette, a bathroom, and a small dining room. That's what she had told doctor Masika during her last antnatal visit. That when she gives birth, she want a private room one for security purposes and two for privacy. Money was not an issue to her, neither will it ever be.
When they arrived Ivana was almost causing a trouble with her shouting.
"Do you anything about my other baby? Tell me Sammy, you were there when I was giving birth. What happened to my other baby, please tell me,She said while crying.
