He looked guilty, “he caught me when I thought my acting was top-notch”, he smirked, leaning in closer he brushed his mouth over my ears, his breath tickling me.
“ Stop doing that”, I blushed.
I won't lie, his proximity is doing funny things to me. It's making goosebumps materialize on my body, but the thought of us two together like lovers made me nauseous.
“If you say so mister”, he's taken to calling me the mister most of the time instead of referring to me as his Highness, an achievement I must say.
I yawned from fatigue
“The journey is too far, you can rest your head on my shoulders if you want, I don't bite unless you want me to”, he patted his shoulders in invitation.
“Thank you”, I leaned on his shoulder, “I didn't get enough sleep last night”
I can feel his smile, “I know, you don't have to tell me about that. I was with you last night, remember? Not only that, but I kept you awake all night.”
I blushed harder at his words.
“ I swear to the gods Kwofo, I will leave you if you continue with your folly”
He erupted in laughter at my words.
“You know you can't do without me, my love”, his words made me glad we were separated from the driver with a partition. My dad would have shit his pants(a slang I learned from Kwofo) if he were to hear a tidbit of our conversations.
I removed my head from his shoulders, and he raised both hands, "am I apologize for disturbing your rest, you can lay back, but permit me to say these last words?”
I can't agree with that, he's talking like this when he wasn't given any permission, talk more of when permission is given to him.
He might bring down the whole of Makoha if permission is given to him.
“Permission denied”, I murmured.
He grunted, but thankfully didn't comment more on the subject.
Who knows, I might have permitted him if he asked once more, I can't deny the only friend I have.
I drifted off to sleep moments later, the silence after our talk was almost strength and time-draining.
Kwofo true to his promises didn't utter a word until I dozed off.

I woke up in a very soft bed, unlike the hard surface I rested my head on earlier, cracking an eye open, I took stock of my surroundings.
“Good, you're finally awake. Thought I will have to force your eyes open.
Thanks for not making me use force on you”, Kwofo spoke from his spot at the end of the ridiculously enormous bed.
“Where am I?”, I sat up to get a clearer view of my surroundings.
“The academy, Sir, where else will you be in? Your dad left minutes ago, he was waiting for you to wake up, but when you didn't wake up as he expected, he left promising to visit on your parent's visiting days. He was sad he didn't bid you farewell on your first day in a strange place without him to keep you company”.
