“Am sad I missed his farewell, are we really at the academy?” I yawn as I took in my surrounding once more.
He looked puzzled at me “if it's not the academy the where are you?” he shook his head at me “I know you are too forgetful, but not to this extent. I had to carry your lazy ass up four flights of stairs while you were dozing like a princess”, he glared at me.
“ I nearly broke my ankle!” He shouted exasperated.
I crawled towards him, but he held his hands up
“ am tired, I don't feel like doing it with you”
I facepalm," you're impossible”, I scooted off the bed.
His plays are getting on my nerves, sometimes it feels more like he's genuinely saying what he is and not just joking.
“Only for you”, he winked, standing up from the bed, he walked towards a door on the right side of the room and minutes later walked out with a pair of my clothes.
*
I was currently laying on my back, enjoying the softness of the bed on my back, the bed feels like the one I had at home.
I won't put it past my dad to send the same bed to the academy.
“Get your lazy arse up from bed and get ready for your first of many meals in Habigalima”, he clapped like actors in a movie do whenever an interesting scene is about to be played.
“I don't want to go”, I whined, “I rather stay in here with you than go out of this room.
I prefer being than going out there and being sacrificed to wolves (no exaggeration in my words, there is a real-life wolf in this horror of an academy).
“Buchim Igali, get up this instant and get ready for dinner or god's help me out what I will do to you
Gone is my playful Kwofo and in his place is a taskmaster from hell, “thinking of it now, you might even enjoy what I have in mind, you perv”, he winked.
I thought I've lost my playful Kwofo, but I was wrong.
I rose the bed faster than you could have said 'a'.
His punishment I can endure, but I would rather not hear his idea of fun.
“I thought so”, he chuckled, “although I hoped you will defy orders, so I will be able to do with you anything I want without being punished”, he smiled playfully.
I dressed up in the clothes he brought for me, and he helped me style my hair.
“Where will I be without you?”
He contemplated for a minute before replying, “probably in a ditch somewhere calling out to passerby for help”, he kept a long serious face.
“ You think so highly of yourself Kwofo”, I walked out the door without bothering to wait for him to precede me since he knows the way to the dining room.
“Where are you walking to?” He chuckled, “you don't even know the way back to your home from here, talk more of the way to the dining”.
