Chapter 167

Before I can say a word concerning what he's saying, I saw a light ahead of us. The light would have been too difficult to see if we haven't been in darkness for a long time.

"Is that light I see?", he tugs me to get my attention, not knowing my attention is transfixed to the little light.

I tugged him as I increased my pace, the light fueling our tired body on.

Seeing the light is akin to a person seeing a little water in an otherwise dry desert.

Imagine being in a dark room for hours only to see a little flicker of light; I wonder how you will feel like.

Making our way to the little light, we found out there's a door blocking us from the light we saw from a distance.

"Oh my gods, don't tell me that door is locked",

I tried the handle, and the door was luckily unlocked. Opening the creaking door, we stepped out into the learning hall.

"I can't believe our learning hall is linked to our dinning room" , the pretend prince whistled, releasing my arm from the prison he held it in.

I turned to the pretend prince the same time he turned towards me.

Taking stock of the person in front of him, his eyes widened, "my prince?", he gives me a look of disbelief, "were you the one that took me out of there?", he looked back at the door we came out from as if the person who he was commanding in the darkness is still somewhere in the dark room.

"Your highness are you surprised?", I gave him a playful shove, bit he didn't look all that playful to me.

If anything, his face looks as stricken as that of a person who've seen a ghost, his brown eyes more pronounced "your highness?", he took some steps away from me.

" What's wrong?",

" You're really the high prince Buchim Igali Dochie Alpparex?", he face palms, " I should have known you were the one when I heard the voice calling you. I never even stopped to think on the fact no one answered his call except me", he takes more steps back, keeping a pronounced distance between us.

" It's nothing really",

"nothing?", his eyes widened in disbelief, "being am imposter is not not nothing my prince. It's more than something!".

I flinched at his outburst,

"am sorry my prince I didn't mean to shout as I did", he hurried to apologize, "I don't know what's wrong with me, I keep heaping crimes on the ones I've committed".

" I got a laugh from it, you don't have to be afraid. We're good", I smiled, but the guy just shook his head.

" Am sorry your highness, hope you forgive me for what am about to do", he turned and ran towards the classes before I can stop him.

This is one of the disadvantages of being a royalty; no one haves fun with you without thinking his head is on the line to be cut.
