The guard looked at me in alarm,
you can literally see his bones shaking.
He nods, "you're old your highness",he answers.
"Old? you think am old?", Father growled at the poor guard who's properly regretting on his decision to serve the high king.
He frantically shakes his head, "no your highness, you're a young man. You're the youngest high king ever had in Ugali", he says with his teeth chattering in fear.
"Young? you dare insult me by calling me young? what impetus!", Father growled again.
I stifled a laugh as I watch Father and the poor guard who's trying to say the right words.
"Am sorry your highness, you're not as young as I viewed you to be earlier, you're between being young and old. You're in your right prime my king".
" You think am between the two? how can you insult me so by saying am between the two? how can you keep on angering me by saying rubbish?", he looks at poor guard.
" Am sorry your highness, am a bit dim in my eyes, I can't tell exactly how you look, you can ask another guard, am sure they will provide the right answers to you my king", he fearfully bowed before Father.
" Dim in the eyes you say, how can you protect me of you can't see properly?"
" I didn't mean it to be a permanent problem your highness. My eyes are dim today because of the scents of this flowers. I think I'll be okay if am placed outside with the others", he all but pleads.
" you can go", Father said with barely restrained mirth
" Thank you your highness", he scrambled off to avoid answering another question.
Father burst into an uncontrollable fit of laughter, "that was really comical",
"you should have seen how his knees kept shaking throughout out the question session", I joined father in his laughter.
" It really good having you back son", he looks at me in happiness, " I don't know how I will survive three more complete moon cycles without you".
" You will survive it father, you've survived this long without me, you will survive more without me", I console him for the neat future.
I don't know where I will leave after my study, but am confident my mates won't follow me back to Ugali.
"Your highness", Kwofo bows, "my prince", he bows at me.
"I thought you two have gotten quite closer for you to refer to him by his name?" Father raised a brow at Kwofo.
" He's my high prince, it's improper to address him by his name".
He said it so respectively one wouldn't have guessed he calls me by my name back at the academy.
"You know I've heard you two discussing before, and you never for once called him prince, why are you pretending in front of me?", Father looked at a guilty faced Kwofo, "I think you've earned the right to refer to him by his name. You're like a brother to him Kwofo, and I will like for you to protect him".
