More than enough humans die during this season, and that's why we hardly venture out during the middle of the season when everywhere will be too cold for you.
Families hurdle inside their homes for most durations of the season for fear of losing a dear one to the harshness of the season.
The leader wasn't satisfied with the answers I gave him.
I don't think he believes half of my words.
He kept on asking me questions after questions until someone from his side shouted.
"Ori Anu ndu!"
I guess this is their first time noticing Blondie isn't human. One of thee members of Kalika clan like I was told was the one who first made the observation.
The outburst made the ones who have lowered their weapons raise it up, a sneer on their faces as they pointed the sharp things at Blondie who looks surprised at their outburst and change of mood.
"What's happening? why are they pointing those things at me?" Blondie looks ready to battle. His claws and fangs elongated on a half shift.
" They just found out they have a flesh eater among us, and as you know humans and Werewolves don't see eye to eye."
The feuds between them have been on for years. Not even the peace treaty can permanently solve it.
"They're just no finding out?" Blondie scoffed "they need to brush up their recognition spell a bit. Talking of spell, why haven't your so called dark magic spell done anything to them?
Why are they still standing?"
" It's not doing anything because it's not a spell. It's a dye that will disguise you and Reddy when we enter the elders' village."
" Kpoputa ya k'anyi gbou ya," the leader commanded me to bring Blondie out so they can slaughter him. As if I will allow them do anything to my mate.
"Gini Kaa omere unu?" I raised a brow in question.
"What are you two talking about?" Blondie levels a look at the leader who was equally giving him a look.
Looking at the two of them is like looking at two mortal enemies meeting for the first time.
"He asked me to give you to them, but I asked what you did to him that will warrant your death."
Most times the way people behave really baffles me. They want to kill Blondie not for what he did to them, but because of his forefathers.
It's like visiting the iniquity of the fathers on their children and children's children.
Most times I don't get the advantage of doing that. Why kill an infant for the sin the mother committed when he haven't yet being born?
Why require payments from the children of a dead ms man when they're not aware of how it happened?
"Gbuo ya!" the leader shouted as he raised his spear up, and that spurred the members of his community to fight.
"They want only me. I won't want you in between us. Please stay safe for your sake and that of the unborn baby. "
