"I hope it don't come to that," Elit who have been looking at the cave voiced out her thoughts.

"Let's hope for the best." Ije smiled tightly.

"Wait here with the girls. Blondie and I will go check it out," Reddy instructs me when I tried to walk in with him.

"What if it's dangerous in there?"

" Then you will be safe out here with them. I can't carelessly risk your life."

Together he walked in with Blondie who pecked me on my forehead before leaving.

"Are they going to be alright?" I look up at Ije when she placed a hand on my shoulder.

We stood there for a long time. So long I was really worried about the safety of my mates.

"Aside from how old the place is, there's nothing dangerous in there.

We checked the secret way in there, and it led to the river at the other end of Makoha."

" This isn't a cave. It's a secret passage way which might have been built before or during the war if the pathway is any indication."

Blondie and Reddy brought in small woods, and we made a little fire in case someone was to come close too our camp site this instant.

We ate what we were given by the villagers, and took a much needed rest. After walking all day, we need to rest our aching muscles.

Blondie made my bed for me, and together we laid down on the blanket makeshift bed while the girls made their bed from the blanket one of the villagers made for me.

It's being two days since we've come to this cave, and we've heard nothing. No sound of anything, not even animal sounds were heard.

"Do you think the vampires have gone back to the mountains after searching for us in the village?" I asked Ije when she and Elit came in to sit with me.

" I think they've searched the village by now, but there's no way for us to know if they returned or not."

I turn to her " are you trying to insinuate they might not go back? they will continue their search?"

I don't want to think on yeh possibility of them doing exactly that.

If they don't tell to the mountains like we thought they will do after listening to the villagers, it will only take them a little time before they find us.

"I don't think they will find us here Buch," Elit smiled at me. "Don't worry your pregnant self of things related to them. They won't find us."

" Talking of being pregnant," Ije raised a brow " why haven't your stomach start growing? why is it still at the size we saw it those weeks ago?"

This have been a constant question in my mind, one I've not voiced out to anyone.

" I guess she's trying to grow up at her pace."
