A CLUE
CHAPTER 112
"Eve! Eve! Wake up! We are here" Charlie said.
"Umm" Eve hummed while taking note of where they were. They got down from the car and Eve is surprised by what she was seeing.
"The place you wanted to bring me to is a forest?" Eve asked Charlie.
"Yes. Is there any problem?" Charlie asked but he saw Eve's confused reaction and continued, "ah... We actually have to go through the forest to get to the place I told you" Charlie said.
"Okay then let us go" Eve said and Charlie lead the way and they entered the forest which landed them on a narrow pathway. They walked for about 30 minutes before the house which looked like those houses in an Asian historical drama. They walked further more and they reached the gate of the house and Charlie opened the gate and they went in.
"Wow!😯" Eve is marvelled at the delicate details of the building.
"Do you like it?" Charlie asked.
"When did you buy this house?" Eve asked.
"When I was just appointed CEO but I did not just buy the house alone" Charlie said.
"What else is there to buy apart from this house?" Eve asked confused because the house seem to be the only building in the forest.
"I bought the whole forest" Charlie said and Eve jaw dropped.
"How rich are you?!" Eve asked and Charlie laughed.
"We have been married for almost a year and you still don't know how rich your husband is. Let's go inside" Charlie said and held Eve's hand and both of them went into the house.
Eve and Charlie spent two days at the vacation home. Charlie showed her round the house and Eve the forest.

Secretary Dan came into Charlie's office to report his schedule for the day. While doing that Charlie interrupted him.
"Go and get me the CCTV footage of Devan corporation and make sure to get the one for the day my wife's car was almost tampered with and also especially the CCTV footage on the CEO's floor. I will call my wife to inform her about your coming" Charlie said.
"Okay sir" secretary Dan said and leaves the office. Immediately secretary Dan left the office Charlie called Eve.
"Hello dear" Charlie said.
"Hello Hun, how is your day going?" Eve asked.
"It is fine and yours?" Charlie answered and also asked Eve how her day is going.
"Fine. Why did you call?" Eve asked.
"I just called to tell you I need the CCTV footage of your company, especially the one from the floor your office is at in other to find out who the spy is in your company or among your secretaries" Charlie said.
"Okay I have no problem with that. I will just get someone to send it to you" Eve said.
"Don't worry I have already sent secretary Dan to your company. You just need to get it ready before he reaches there" Charlie said.
"Okay will do so. Have a great day ahead... Love you... Muah 😘!" Eve said.
"Okay... Love you too" Charlie said chuckling.
40 minutes later~~~~~
Charlie's office~~~~~
Charlie is listening to his secretary reporting to him about his findings on the CCTV footage of Devan corporation.
"Sir... Here is the CCTV footage of Devan corporation you asked for" secretary Dan said handing over the tablet to Charlie. As Charlie was accessing the CCTV footages, secretary Dan spoke up diverting Charlie's attention from the tablet to him.
"A particular young lady who happens to be one of ma'am's secretaries is quite suspicious" secretary Dan said.
"What do you mean suspicious?" Charlie asked.
"She was eavesdropping on I and ma'am's conversationns and snooping outside ma'am's office while I was there to get the CCTV footage from ma'am" secretary Dan said.
"What is her name?" Charlie asked curiousity and anger were starting to brew up in him.
"Her name is Candice Lee, sir" secretary Dan said.
"Okay you may go now" Charlie said. Charlie picked up his phone and called Eve again.
Devan corporation~~~~~
Eve's office~~~~~
"Hello Hun! Isn't the CCTV footage useful?" Eve asked.
"Ah... It was I just need you to be careful and not to divulge any information to your secretaries especially the one named Candice Lee" Charlie said.
"Ah... Is she the spy?" Eve asked curiously.
"It is not confirmed yet. We are still checking the remaining footages and judging by the suspicious calls she has been making, she seems to be the spy" Charlie said.
"Have you been able to find out who she was calling?" Eve asked.
"Not yet. The audio quality of the CCTV footage is poor so I sent them to a audio expert to investigate it" Charlie said.
"Oh okay" Eve said. Eve after a while continued, "no wonder I have been feeling uncomfortable with her since when she started working here" Eve murmured but Charlie heard her.
"You should be careful because we don't know who sent her and what they are planning yet" Charlie said.
"Okay I will" Eve said. There was a knock on the door and Eve said to Charlie "need to go now, duty calls."
"Hmm..." Charlie hummed his answer and they both ends the call at the same time.
"Come in" Eve said. Sue and Nars came into the office.
"Morning babe" Sue and Nars greeted Eve.
"Morning" Eve said tidying up her table.
"So how is the investigation going?" Sue asked.
"Apparently Charlie found a clue to who the spy might be among the secretaries" Eve said.
"Who is it?" Nars asked. Sue and Nars looked at Eve waiting for her response.
"Charlie thinks it is Candice,the new secretary" Eve said.
"I knew it!" Nars shouted.
"Keep it down! Do you want to attract the attention of everyone outside" Sue chided Nars.
"Oh sorry" Nars said using his hands to close his mouth.
"How did Charles find out?" Sue turns her attention back to Eve.
"Charlie asked for the CCTV footage of the company and there he saw her making suspicious calls but the audio was not clear enough for them to hear and know who she was calling" Eve said.
"So how will they find out who she called?" Nars asked.
"He said he sent the CCTV footages to an audio specialist to find out who she called" Eve said.
"That is a good idea" Nars said.
"Yes and I hope the results comes out good and positive so we can know who she has been calling" Sue said.
"I hope so too" Eve said and sighs. "Okay let us go back to work because some certain someone might be snooping around the door like when secretary Dan was here" Eve said.
"Okay. See you later" Sue said.
"Hmm... Okay" Eve said. Sue and Nars gets up from their seats and leaves the office.
