BREAKING THE NEWS TO EVERYONE (2)

CHAPTER 125

"Be careful not to fall from the stairs" Charlie said holding Eve's hand.

"I am not a little kid that is so clumsy to the extent of falling down the stairs!" Eve shouted towards Charlie.

"Okay! Okay! Sorry ma'am" Charlie said sarcastically and both of them laughed at the Charlie's statement. Charlie and Eve settled down in the dinning and Charlie signaled the servants to serve the food. Eve did not wait for Charlie and started devouring the food.

"Wow, your appetite sure has increased" Charlie teased Eve.

"It's because of the pregnancy!" Eve shouted, she glared at Charlie and continued eating.

"I want to invite my father and my friends over for dinner and tell them the news, is that fine by you?" Charlie asked.

"Sure why not? It's fine and also I will invite Sue and Nars even though they already know. They helped me with the decorations yesterday and I am sure your father will be very happy with the news and..." Eve said.

"... And he would stop pestering and ignoring me because of a grandchild" Charlie completed the sentence for her and both of them laughed. The atmosphere in the dinning room was very harmonious.

Charlie and Eve were resting in the living room after breakfast and Charlie used the opportunity to inform his father and friends about the dinner.

Eve and her friends were texting each other in a group Sue created when her, Eve and Nars became friends.

Sue: [hey girl! How was the surprise?]

Nars: [what was his reaction to your surprise?] They bombarded her with questions at once.

Eve: [calm down one question at a time]

Sue: [did he like the surprise?]

Eve: [yes, infact he loved it.  He said he was annoyed throughout yesterday because of work and because of my surprise his mood was lifted]

Nars: [how does he treat you now that you are pregnant?]

Eve: [he literally doesn't want me to do anything! Can you imagine he told me to walk slowly on the stairs likes of I am a child who is being taught how to walk]

Sue: [hahaha]

Nars: [hahaha... He really cares about you]

Eve: [Ah... I almost forgot! I and Charlie are having a gathering later in the evening and you both are invited]

Nars: [sure! We would definitely be there! We won't miss it for anything]

Eve: [Okay, thanks]

Sue: [you are welcome]

They chatted for a while before Eve became tired of chatting and greet her friends goodbye and laid her head on top of Charlie's laps.

"You tired?" Charlie asked.

"Yes" Eve said.

"I have informed everyone about the dinner" Charlie said.

"Hmm... I have also told Sue and Nars about it and they would be there" Eve hummed softly.

"Okay" Charlie said and pecked her on her lips.

"Hun, can you massage my legs? They hurt" Eve asked Charlie pouting.

"You know once you ask me something with that face I can't resist to grant your request" Charlie said.

"You are my husband, you are supposed to help me because you are the one who put me in this condition!" Eve said.

"Hahaha... That is true. I surrender" Charlie raised his two hands up to show he has surrendered.

"Good you know, now please massage my legs! They are killing meeee!"

"Yes ma'am!" Charlie said and he started massaging her legs.

"That feels nice" Eve said and closed her eyes. Eve soon fall asleep on Charlie's laps and Charlie carries her princess style to their bedroom.

Evening ~~~~~

Everyone has started arriving and Eve is un the kitchen fighting with Charlie. Apparently Charlie wanted her not to do anything in fear she would stress herself but Eve thought differently, she insisted on assisting in the kitchen even if it's just to order the maids around. The maids tried not to laugh at their bosses childish and funny arguement.

After some minutes of arguing Charlie gave up and agreed to her staying in the kitchen on the condition that she wouldn't touch anything in the kitchen. Eve was not satisfied but had no other choice than to accept it. After Eve agreed with him he went out to greet the guests.

Charlie got to the living room and saw everyone has arrived. He went and sat down beside his father and his father asked him where his wife is.

"Where is your beautiful wife?" Mark asked smiling.

"No one except me is allowed to call my wife beautiful" Charlie said coldly.

"Hey! Calm down boy! I am your father for goodness sake!" Mark shouted.

"I am serious" Charlie said still using his cold voice.

"Whatever! Where is she anyway?" Mark asked.

"She is in the kitchen, why do you ask?" Charlie looked at his father suspiciously.

"Nothing, just asking... What news is so important that you called all of us here for dinner?" Mark asked.

"Be patient. I am sure when you hear it you would be very very happy" Charlie said laughing. He was already imagining his father reaction when he tells him he is going to be a grandfather soon.

'what news that will make me very happy?' mark thought and was about to ask Charlie again but was interrupted by a voice. He looked up and saw Eve facing them.

"Dinner is ready! Everyone let's proceed to the dinning room" Eve said.

"What is so important you want to tell us that you invited us to dine at your house? You rearly invite us over?" Victor shouted his question while raising his hand. Eve was about to answer but Charlie beat her to it.

"We would announce it after we eat dinner, probably over desserts and drinks" Charlie said and stood up and went to the dinning room with Eve. Everybody gave up and followed Eve and Charlie to the dinning room.

Dinner was served and everyone started eating. Everyone was acknowledging the food and was complimenting Eve.

Living room ~~~~~

After dinner everyone went to the living room for desserts and drinks. The desserts and drinks were served to everyone.

"You can now tell us why you called us here, right?" Mark spoke up first.

"Yes tell us! We are dying to know what would make you of all people invite us to your house for dinner" Michael said chuckling.

Charlie cleared his throat and said "yes. I am happy to inform you all here that I am becoming a father...."

Everyone "..." The whole living room was quite with only the sound from the wall clock can be heard. The news was very shocking that it made everyone speechless!.
