CHAPTER 124

"You mean you are pregnant?" Charlie asked very happy. He has been moody all day because his employees did not impress him with their presentation.

"Yes" Eve said laughing at Charlie's reaction.

"Thank you" Charlie said suddenly.

"For what?" Eve asked confused.

"For everything, for having my baby, for granting me the wish of being a father and of course rescuing me from father's nagging self" Charlie said the last word laughing and Eve joined in laughing with him.

"You are right about that and you know we need to tell him about him becoming a grandfather" Eve said.

"Yes I know that and we would go straight to the old mansion and tell him first thing tomorrow morning" Charlie said. He is extremely happy because of the news.

"You did all these just to surprise me. I was really surprised when the director of the hospital told me that you said he should not disclose the results of the test" Charlie said pointing at the whole decorations.

"Yes.... Don't you like it?" Eve asked looking wronged.

"Of course! I love it, and I would have rewarded you if you were not pregnant" Charlie said.

"Okay, I am tired. You go freshen up so we can go to bed" Eve said pushing Charlie towards the bathroom.

"Okay! Okay, I will... You wait for me so we can hug you and my baby" Charlie said pulling Eve closer to him.

"Okay sir! Go on now, you stink of sweat" Charlie kissed her on her forehead and went into the bathroom. Charlie came out thirty minutes later and joined Eve on the bed and the both of them slept with a smile on their face.

The next morning~~~~~

The next day was Saturday, so Charlie and Eve does not need to go to work.

"I am hungryyyy" Eve mumbled that in her half asleep state. Charlie was woken up by Eve voice and chuckled at hoe she said she is hungry but she makes no effort to get up and tell the servants.

"You are hungry?" Charlie asked laughing.

"Yes" Eve said immediately.

"What do you want to eat?" Charlie decided to get her what she wants to eat.

"Roasted chicken, braised fish, rice and don't forget to buy me snacks... Lots and lots of delicious snacks" Eve said.

"Okay" Charlie kissed her forehead and went downstairs to instruct the servants.

"I want you to prepare roasted chicken, braised fish, rice" Charlie told Evelyn.

"Yes sir, right away sir" Evelyn said and turned to leave the living room to the kitchen.

"Wait..." Charlie said.

"Do you need anything else sir?" Evelyn asked.

"Yes. Get someone to go buy some snacks" Charlie said.

"Snacks? Sir I thought you don't eat junk foods" Evelyn asked surprised because this is the first time their boss is asking for snacks.

"I am not the one eating it, it is for my wife" the maid still kept a confused face until Charlie spoke up again to explain more, "she is pregnant" Charlie said.

"Wow! That is great news! So we will have a little master of miss in the house" just the three words brought a smile on the face of Evelyn. She became really and genuinely happy for her lady boss.

"I will do that right away, what kind of snacks does she want, sir?" Evelyn asked.

"She did not specify any so buy anyone and make sure it's in large quantity and also it should be delicious" Charlie repeated what Eve said.

"Okay sir" Evelyn said and signaled for one of the junior maids to rush to the convenience store in the estate and buy snacks for the lady boss.

After giving the orders, Charlie went back to their room. He saw Eve still sleeping peacefully on the bed.

"Hey wifey!" Charlie called.

"Hmm...." Eve hummed.

"Get up, it's morning already, rise and shine" Charlie said.

"I want to sleep a little longer" Eve said turning on the bed.

"You need to eat something" Charlie said. After Eve heard the word 'eat' she was high on alert. She stood up immediately.

"I want to eat roasted chicken, braised fish, rice and lots and lots of delicious snacks" Eve repeated what she said in her sleep.

Charlie began to laugh hard, clutching onto his stomach and Eve was confused why Charlie was laughing. "Is he laughing at her or because of what I said?" Eve thought.

"What is funny? Why are you laughing? Are you laughing at me!" Eve shouted.

"No! No! Why would I laugh at you" Charlie said.

"Then why were you laughing?" Eve asked.

"I was laughing because you said the same exact thing when I asked you what you want to eat" Charlie said.

"When did you ask me what I want to eat?" Eve os confused because she did not remember Charlie asking her something like that.

"When you were asleep" Eve still gave him a questioning look and Charlie continued talking, "a while ago you were mumbling in your sleep that you were hungry, so I asked you what you wanted to eat and surprisingly you said the same food you just said now" Charlie said.

"Really😲? Then I must have been very hungry to the extent I was talking in my sleep" Eve said nodded her head.

"Okay enough with the questions and go freshen up so we can go down and eat breakfast" Charlie said.

"Okay, give me five minutes" Eve said and speeds into the bathroom. Eve came out of the bathroom five minutes later as she said. She was wearing a simple off shoulder lose gown which stop at just above her knees.

"You look enchanting" Charlie said looking at Eve like a love struck fool.

"Thanks ☺️" blood rushed to Eve face, making her blush profusely.

"Hmm..." Charlie hummed his answer still staring at Eve.

"Let's go before the breakfast becomes cold" Eve shouted and Charlie came out of his reverie.

"Yes... Yes, we should go" Charlie said. He opened the door for Eve to pass through and closes the door behind them.

"Be careful not to fall from the stairs" Charlie said holding Eve's hand.

"I am not a little kid that is so clumsy to the extent of falling down the stairs!" Eve shouted towards Charlie.

"Okay! Okay! Sorry ma'am" Charlie said sarcastically and both of them laughed at the Charlie's statement. Charlie and Eve settled down in the dinning and Charlie signaled the servants to serve the food. Eve did not wait for Charlie and started devouring the food.

"Wow, your appetite has increased" Charlie teased Eve.

"It's because of the pregnancy!" Eve shouted.

"I want to invite my father and my friends over for dinner and tell them the news, is that fine by you?" Charlie asked.

"Sure why not? It's fine and I am sure your father will be very happy with the news" Eve said.

"... And he would stop pestering and ignoring me because of a grandchild" Charlie said and both of them laughed. The atmosphere was very harmonious.
