Although Martin had told the doctor and instructed Haggai that he should not leave the closed gates, he still changed his mind and decided to let him go. What Ruth was suffering from was just something minor. She was just suffering from shock but the doctor was able to revive her back to life. She only needed to rest bit health was safer. Martin requested Lady Akeshia to watch her all the time till she got well no matter how much Ruth insisted that she was fine. As soon as he left, Purist decided to visit Ruth . She did not want her father to see her there. Her father had warned her of going to their matrimonial room.
" Are you okay Mama? I was so worried about both of you but Lady Nana told me that you would be alright . That at least lessened my worries. Tell me Mama, how do you feel? Do you want me to sing for you?" Said Purist smiling.
" Not really Purist. I am a bit tired and I do not want any noise right now. I have gone through a lot and the last thing I would want to listen to is your song. Please go back to your room" said Ruth who turned to the other side of the bed.
Purist left the room dissapointed. Lady Nana who was listening by the door decided to accompany her to her room.
" Does she hate? Why was she hostile to me?Did I do anything wrong to her? I just asked her how her health was and nothing more. I wanted to teach the kind of song that we were taught in school but she seemed not to me interested. Does she hate me now? What wrong could I have done to her? " Asked Purist crying.
She did not really expect Ruth to speak to her like that. She went to her bed and finally fell asleep.
Lady Nana felt pity for her and decided to speak to Ruth on her behalf who was already awake and kept smiling as she made stories about the closed gates with Lady Akeshia.
" She was hurt. She feel that you despise her so much and that is the main reason why she keeps asking for the wrongs that she has done. You should not have spoken to her with such hostility ma. It breaks the girls heart. I might not be her mother but I am the woman who assisted in raising her up. Please consider the child's feelings next time" said Nana a bit devastated and hesitantly.
This was a place where fear was the main priority and comfort was only found at the cell of hell when one was considered dead.
" I am a bit stressed up. I did not really mean to speak to her like that. I have never been a mother before and maybe this was not going to be my first or last time. I just need to be alone both of you get out of the room. If you find it hard then escort me to the study and be a guard at the door. To trust someone I to throw oneself in an expected fire" said Ruth as she signalled them to leave.
Lady Nana left but Lady Akeshis did not leave. She was just following orders from Martin. Martin instructed her not to leave the room till Ruth had fully recovered.
" I am sorry ma but I have orders from Martin not to leave till your health becomes better. Although things do better, it doesn't necessarily mean that I will leave you a lone. It meant that I would gladly look after you" said Lady Akeshia smiling.
She was already fond of Ruth and wanted Ruth to trust her but she did not really understand why Ruth found it hard to trust her.
