Martin felt pity for his daughter and therefore approached her who could not stop knocking on the doorm . He led her to her room. He did not want to lash out all his anger on his daughters . He laid her to rest.
Purist could not sleep which continued to make him angry.
" Sleep daughter. You know how much I hate being annoyed and I am currently annoyed at this state. I do plead with you to forgive me. I did not really mean for it to happen. Goodnight daughter" said Martin.
But as much as he tried to sooth her, she could not agree to him. This time she was on Ruth's side and she was determined by the fact that nothing would change her mind. She really wanted to prove to Ruth of how much she was apologetic to her.
" I did it all Dad. I really did it all and I was sure that nothing bad would happen to you or mama. But why ? I was the one who asked mama to welcome the servants to have our tasty delicious meal. Mama have really done nothing wrong Dad. Please do not punish her like that. I need to really go and apologize to her as soon as I can" said Purist who seemed to be a little bit alpologetic.
Martin tried as much as he could to control himself. He felt to slap her but he could hear the waves of the wind from inside of the house. He looked at her for one more time and realized that she was already already asleep. He slowly tiptoed to the door and locked the door for her.
He went back to his room and found out that his wife was already asleep too. He slowly changed into the sleeping gown and joined Ruth who with a minute who fell deep asleep too.
That night they slept calmly till the next morning.
Ruth woke up a little bit early. She decided to do all the house chores by herself. She took all their dirty clothes and passed them through the washing machine. It was much easier as even though she had come from a poor family, she really knew how to use the washing machine.
She decided to clean both the kitchen and the parlour . After she had finished , she decided to go to the study inorder to have some solely time. She was already tired of everything.
She felt as if all Martin ever wanted was to make her life miserable.
She sat on the floor by the window for a while as she watched what the servant do at the servant quarters.
Martin woke up and was surprised to find out that Ruth was not sleeping beside him like she always did . He quickly went downstairs to look for her . Unluckily, it was indeed true that she was nowhere to be found.
MARTIN'S POV.
Where could she be?
I thought she was just sleeping beside me.
Did she get mad at me and decided to leave me?
But all her clothes are still on the wardrobe. Could she have decided to leave them there?
No! I must go and seek answers from Haggai.
I told him to never allow anybody to leave the closer gates without my permission.
He found Haggai awake and seated Infront of the gate. The gate was picked in such a way that nonobe had really left.
" Have you seen my wife? Did you allow her to leave without permission?" Asked Martin filled with lots of anger.
" I have not seen your wife. Besides, your wife is known in this closer gates as no early riser. She always do things the way she likes. I am not a man to lie to you mt dear, but that is the whole truth, I have not seen your wife. She must be somewhere at the closer gates" said Haggai.
Haggai offered to help him search for Ruth. When they arrived at the cell of hell in the middle of the searching, they were surprised that the lights had lit red.
They saw an image of Ruth who did nothing more but kept on smiling. Martin decided to enter but Haggai suddenly stopped him.
Haggai remembered that the last time he had entered here. Maybe there is nothing like the cell of hell.
" Just let me go Haggai. This is time to protect my wife and I do see her image. I do believe that she is in there. I wonder why she decided to go back in there even after the many times that I had warned her not to. I am really dissapointed in my wife. And yet I am amazed by her. She will just change her moods like the way it happened last time while she was at the closer gates" said Martin who was in total deep confusion.
" Let us wait for her. I am sure that she will indeed be back. She has wanted to confirm something. After all, she would never be hurt by the ghosts of her own people. She us not the worst kind of a person than us. Her parents have been done total harm. Her clan were killed like rodents. She must never know that. She must never know that her grandmother Magdalene was not a witch. It will put us all in a horrible position" said Haggai a bit worried.
" My wife loves me unconditionally and I am sure that she will do anything for my sake. I am no longer afraid of the cell of hell. That subject with the clan.is what I have been trying to do. They had been trying to.mskd the two clana become good friends once again but the elders had refused. They were still haunted by the clans spirits which was believed in history that his clan killed their clan" said Haggai angrily .
Martin stood there aghast for a while. He was in mixed emotions but still Haggai managed to convince him to wait for Ruth at the matrimonial room.
