CHAPTER 35

Ruth ate her breakfast hesitantly since Martin kept looking at her angrily. She tried to please him by helping her Purist to clean herself after every spoonful of the meal. 

" Please eat as much as you can. You shall see how beautiful you will be. You are a nice person and I do really cherish you so much. You are my only daughter" said Ruth smiling. 

Martin did not smile even for a moment. He kept looking at Ruth still his heart filled with fury. Purist intentionally left the table. 

" Why have you left the table? Don't you want to take this sumptous meal. Lady Nana made it for you and I am sure that she really meant it for you. I am never mistaken about such things. Please do not go Purist" Ruth pleaded but Ruth still left the table. 

" I am so sorry Martin. I haven't any idea of what really came over me. Please do forgive me for everything that has happened. I wish I had the power to bring things back" said Ruth who was filled with uncertainties. 

" Let us take this chance. Eat your sumptuous breakfast. You still have to go to the mall to buy your uniform. I do not want to get into any other trouble with the chief. It's a really good thing that I know what I must do from now on" said Martin who left the dining. 

Ruth stayed there seated wondering what had really happened. 

She kept bending her head crying. 

" Is he still angry with me Lady Akeshia?" Asked Ruth out of curiosity. 

" Yes. I can feel from the tone of his voice that he is still angry with you. What he is trying to show you is that life should move on despite all that . He feels he has forgiven you but still does not want anything to do with you"

" How do you know him soon much. It's like you are his father. Did you really raise Martin or you are his mother?" Said Ruth who was still full of curiosity. 

" Nothing of that sort. I just know him the same way a mother would know his son. Don't make this a complicated thing. Run away with me. Have you ever been to the servant quarters. Would you feel at home of you went there. I have been practicing on how to make this scene perfect. We have a short play in our church ( Out of state of confusion) I should really stop thinking about such things. I should think of things which seem to be pleasy. I wish I had taken the longest time possible . You are the one of a kind" said Lady Akeshia as she cleared the table. 

Ruth wanted to help her but Lady Akeshia suddenly stopped her. 

" You are from higher rank. You must leave some work like this for the unfortunate people like us. You must so that ma" Said Lady Akeshia smiling. 

" But I am a wife. I do hear that such things are duties. Just like the simple task of cooking. Am I not supposed to cook for my husband?"

" There are strict rules at the closer gates especially with your husband. We do not cook for anyone unless Martin has authorized you to do som Every orders comes from your husband. If so he wants you. Then you will definetly do it ma"

" Thank you so much for helping me understand how things work here Lady Akeshia" said Ruth who left.

She remembered that Martin asked her to prepare herself to go to the mall.
