CHAPTER 85

It was amusing how Ruth and Faith had become best of friends till Ruth had forgotten that Faith had attempted to kill her in the past. 

They were good drivers which made them to quickly highlight at their destination. Faith got out of her car and held Ruth's arm as she led Ruth to a Pub. 

" You want us to have a talk in a pub? What do you think you are doing Faith?" Asked Ruth filled with lots of curiosity. 

" This is my pub sister-in-law. This is where I found out that Tere had ordered for all members of your family to be murdered. I am so sorry that you arrived when the entire incident had already happened" said Faith as she led Ruth to the office pub. 

Faith ordered for an alcohol drink but Ruth nodded her head in disagreement. She had never taken alcohol before. She ordered for tea but she was informed that tea was not served in the pub. 

" Why did you forgive me Ruth? I tried to kill you before" Faith had suddenly remembered and decided to ask Ruth the main reason why. 

" I know you didn't mean to do it Faith. I had overheard your conversation with Tere before and she was the one who pushed you to do so. She is the reason for your mental illness. I investigated and found out that she used to order Lady Ruby to put sedatives in your tea. You are not to be blamed for everything. I am just glad that you decided to go to the hospital and got healed" said Ruth smiling. 

" I couldn't have done so without your help Ruth. I cannot rest knowing that my brother is going to spend a night in a cell" said Faith a bit worried. 

Ruth held Faith's arm as an assurance that everything would be sorted out. 

They suddenly remembered how they became best friends. 

This all happened when Ruth adviced Faith to leave the closer gates. She had indeed threatened Faith that she would arrest her for attemted murder but she did not really mean that she would do so. Ruth had known the whole truth and the fact that Tere used to seedate Faith. 

After Faith left the closer gates, Faith found out that her scholarship had been renewed and that was how she left to futher her studies. She earned a lot of schorlarships and awards which enabled her to open various businesses like her pub and assist Ruth to go back to school. This had all transpired only because of the friendship that they had. 

" Lawyer Ruth. I know you deal with teenagers when it comes to law but I am pleading with you to help my brother" said Faith smiling. 

" I will indeed help you scientist. Together we will be able to come out of this issue just like we have come out of others. I just can't believe that my mother is a servant. I want to see her Ruth. I want to go to the closer gates and see my mother" said Faith crying. 

Ruth decided to help Faith. They went into a nearer boutique and bought the cheapest tracksuits. They waited till night in order to enter the closer gates where nobody would be able to recognize them. 

They entered the closer gates and ran into the servant quarters. They went straight to Lady Akeshia's room and hid under her bed. Lady Akeshia entered accompanied by Tere. 

" I want you to sleep so that I can switch off my lights. I do not want anybody to waste my resources here at the closer gates" said Tere who switched of the light and left. 

Faith and Ruth who had still hidden under the bed switched on the lights of their phones. Lady Akeshia was astonished and decided to peep under her bed. She was surprised when she saw Ruth and Faith coming out of the bed .

" Is this how she talks to you and every servant in the closer gates? She treats you servants like dogs" said Ruth angrily who wanted to leave and approach Tere but Faith and Akeshia immediately stopped her .

" You can't do anything Ruth. You will worsen the situation here at the closer gates" said Lady Akeshia in a pellucid voice. 

" But she should be taught a lesson in order for her to know how to treat people who are older than her. I will never forgive her for everything she has done in my life" said Ruth. 

Faith immediately hugged Akeshia tightly and did want to let go till Ruth finally stopped her. 

" I am so sorry mama. I am so sorry for having left you behind to suffer like this. I just hope that you will be able to forgive me someday. I love you mama" said Faith. 

" It's enough faith we have to go before they close the gate of the closer gates. It might be too late to find a taxi that would take us back to the pub. Let's go please" said Ruth who held Faith's arm and pushed her outside since Faith did not really want to leave. 

Akeshia sat on her bed astonished. She kept wondering how the relationship between Ruth and Faith had bonded all of sudden. She was a happy as a lark by the bond. She entered her bed and slept. 

Faith and Ruth quickly got out of the closer gates but they were surprised when they saw Haggai outside the closer gates who was looking at them smiling. 

" Two rats just came out of the cave without the cat knowing. I hope you both do not have to worry since Tere will not know about this. The cat is in the house and now I will close the closer gates gate otherwise I could have closed it earlier and the rats wouldn't have known where exactly to escape from" said Haggai laughing annoyingly. 

" An the rats are glad that they got out. If you may excuse us" said Ruth as they boardered a matatu and left. 

They arrived at the pub at midnight. Ruth immediately took her car keys and drove off. She knew that Naomi and Magdalene would be worried about her whereabouts since she did not tell them of her plans. 

She arrived at her home and was surprised to find out that Naomi and Magdalene had not yet slept. She seemed apologetic when she went and sat between them. 

" I am sorry to the both of you. I am sorry for not informing the both of you that I would come back home late at night" said Ruth in a pellucid voice. 

" It's okay Ruth. We are not really blaming you for anything" said Magdalene as she stroke Ruth's hair. 

" We can go and sleep now that you have arrived home. I am too tired now after working for a long at the boutique" said Naomi smiling. 

Magdalene was the only one who did not go to work. Naomi and Ruth had resoluted that she should rest since she was getting old. They felt that it was better that they often deposit money into Magdalene's account and bought a car for her as well. It was fair according to Ruth and Naomi since everybody in the house had owned their own car. Ruth went to her room and decided to shower. 

Ruth began to remember all the memories that she had with Martin before she left the closer gates. 

' I cannot still be inlove with you Martin. Why am I just thinking about you? I have to forget about you' thought Ruth as she kept slapping herself in the shower .

All the the good memories that Ruth could remember was when she showered with Martin and nothing more than that. 

She immediately got out of shower and wore her sleeping gown. She went to bed and slept as she covered herself with the duvet. 

She finally remembered how she had spoken badly to Purist and Akeshia when they came to seek for her help. She regretted telling Purist that she was not her mother. 

She woke up and threw a glass of water on the floor. This finally woke up Naomi who went to her room. 

" Haven't you slept Ruth? What's going on in your mind?" Asked Naomi filled with lots of curiosity. 

" As much as I try to forget about Martin, I really can't because deep in my heart I still love him. I love Martin mama. And now I am full of regrets at how bad I spoke to Purist and Akeshia when they came to seek for my help. I feel that I am Purist's mother and I should be her mother but I am not. I don't know what to do to be just Ruth Bora" said Ruth crying. 

That was the main reason why she helped Martin to get out of the cell of hell. She really wanted so badly to stop Purist's wedding but it was a bit difficult. 

Naomi held Ruth till Ruth finally slept on her arms like a little child who had just been breastfed to sleep.
