CHAPTER 98

They both entered the car and left. Ryan drove faster since he was afraid that something bad could happen to Faith if they took a long period of time. As they were driving on, Ruth turned towards the window and was astonished to see her car pass past them. She urged Ryan to stop the car but Ryan continued driving. 

" You have to Ryan. We have to follow the car that has passed us because it's my car" said Ruth. 

Ryan immediately stopped the car and looked at Ruth angrily. He therefore opened the glinding door of his car and got out. He angrily went towards Ruth and opened the glinding door of the car. He pushed Ruth out of the car and locked the door. 

" You can follow the car as much as you like. As for me I need to get back to the hospital and give this drugs to faith. Why do you value wealth than life? So what if it's you car. If Faith dies right now, will the car bring back her life? No wonder you got married to Martin at the age of sixteen" said Ryan angrily who went back to the car. 

Ryan immediately started the engine but Ruth ran and stood infront of the car. This made Ryan to stop driving since if he could have driven off then the car would have hit Ruth and caused an accident. Ryan got out of the car angrily. 

" What is the problem with you?" Asked Ryan angrily. 

" Do you think there is anything wrong with me? Were you just going to leave me here? You made a promise to my mama and grandma that you would take care of me. Why? You think I care about the car more than I care about Faith's life. Why then did I want to sell my own car so as to pay her hospital bills? I am a lawyer and my office needs me right now but I have choosen to be here with Faith knowing very well that I can be sacked from my job. Now you listen to me! Both of us are going to that hospital and will deliver this drugs to Faith" said Ruth who went towards the car and entered the car but this time she sat at the back seat of the car.

Ryan entered the car as well and drove off angrily. They both arrived at the hospital and silently went to Faith's ward. They found that there was a nurse checking on her. They gave the drugs to the nurse. The nurse immediately left. Ruth strangely looked at Ryan and held his arm. She felt that she should apologize to Ryan about what had happened. Faith immediately woke up at that time and was astonished to see both Ryan and Ruth holdig arms .

" You both are here?" Asked Faith in a pellucid voice. 

" Yes! We have just delivered your drugs and the syringe that the doctor asked us to deliver to him as well" said Ruth as she went towards Faith and hugged her. 

" Thanks for going to any extent to find the drugs for me Ruth. The nurse informed me that those drugs are not available in mambo town and therefore I knew that you both went out of Mambo town to find the drugs for me" said Faith smiling. 

" No! We should both be thankful to Ryan because without him then I couldn't have got the drugs" said Ruth as she went towards Ryan and hugged him. 

Ryan hugged back so emotionally which astonished Faith. She felt that both Ryan and Ruth were behaving strangely in front of her.

" You both go home and rest. I know it has been a long journey and do not worry because I will be fine. The doctors and the nurses are taking good care of me. No more word from you Ruth. Just relax and go home. Everything will be fine" said Faith smiling. 

Ryan and Ruth left for home. When they arrived at home, Ruth was astonished to find out that all the servants were waiting for them outside the house. They immediately bowed before them as they  entered the house. This astonished Ruth and reminded her the first time that she entered the closer gates.

" I think you should go and shower then rest. I will buy food for the both of us later" said Ryan. 

" Why do you want to buy food when I can cook? Buying food is wastage of money. Don't you want to taste my food Martin?" said Ruth smiling. 

Ryan silently looked at her as she was astonished by the fact that Ruth still remembered Martin. 

" I am sorry Sir Ryan. Everything here seems so common as to the first time that I went to the closer gates. But I meant it when I said that I can cook. I don't want us to buy food since I know buying food is very expensive" said Ruth smiling. 

" And who are you to order my brother? Ryan and I have always bought food ever since our parents died and he became the leader of our community. He just gave you shelter and not a chance to state your own opinions. Learn to stick to your lane" said Lawrence angrily. 

Ruth was astonished by Lawrence's behavior. It was her first time to see Lawrence since she had no idea that Lawrence had a younger brother. 

" And if there is anyone who can cook, then that person is me" said Vivian as she entered the living room.

Ruth remained silent since she did not want to argue with them and did not know them. She felt that she had no right to question anyone since it was not her household. Ruth wanted to leave but Ryan held her arm and signalled her not to leave. 

" Listen to me Vivian. You should not think too high of yourself. You are here because my younger brother chose to get married to you but then you should not disrespect my visitor. Has it not occurred to you that I can marry her and later on and give her the rights to make decisions in this community and this house? Ruth is my visitor and I urge all of you to respect her. I am giving her permission to cook in the kitchen. Go and freshen up then you will tell me all the Ingredients you need. I will send Nelly to buy them in the market " said Ryan. 

" No .....Sir....." Said Ruth but Ryan suddenly interrupted. 

" Say no more. Let me take you to the guest room. You and your sister do not deserve to stay in the guest cell anymore" said Ryan. 

Ryan and Ruth both left to the guest room. Ruth was astonished since the room looked like a hotel. There was a television which was places on top of the cupboard in a room. There was a closet which did not have any clothes. There was also a picture frame that was placed on the wall. The picture contained Ryan's picture. 

" I can't take a shower right now. I passed by my house and forgot to pick extra clothes" said Ruth.

" Then I will buy you extra clothes for you. Just go ahead and take a shower. I will be back in a short while" said Ryan who left. 

Ruth sat on her bed wondering why Ryan had suddenly changed and become too good to her. She decided to change into the towel that was on top of her bed and go to shower. 

Before she could go, she felt someone held her arm. She was astonished to find out that it was Vivian.

" You have no right to use our shower. You are just a guest on probation and yet Ryan has given you all these? You need to be taken back to the guest cell" said Vivian angrily. 

Ruth removed Vivian's arm from her and slapped her then pushed her away. Vivian was astonished by all these since nobody had treated her like that before. 

" You really think too high of yourself. I am not those little girls in this community that you order around and get whatever you want from them. I am Ruth Bora, the most courageous lady in Olam community. No one messes with me" said Ruth. 

Vivian was filled with lots of fear as Ruth spoke to her in a threatening way. 

" Your days are numbered" said Vivian who left. 

Ruth went towards her room door and locked the door. She kept breathing heavily after confronting Vivian like that. She decided to go to the shower and showered. 

As soon as she finished, she heard someone knock on her door. She dressed herself with her towel very well and went to open the door She was astonished to find out that it was Ryan.

" I 've brought you your clothes " said Ryan in a calm voice. 

" Thank you for the clothes that you have brought me but it's too many. Why did you have to buy a whole suitcase?"

" Because you are my most important guest" said Ryan who left. 

" Thank you" said Ruth as she hugged Ryan and took the suitcase.

She therefore locked the door and decided to arrange the clothes at the closet.
