CHAPTER 97
Faith started suspecting Ruth and Ryan at that instant. They immediately left and went to the to the chemist. They were astonished to find that all the chemists had been closed.
" What we should we do Ryan? If we do not get those drugs then Faith's condition will worsen" said Ruth who was worried.
" We will go and buy the drugs in your community. I know you are from the Olam community of Olam town where there is a famous place know as the closer gates. I head it many years back that the owner of that famous closer gates married a young girl at the age of sixteen many years ago" said Ryan smiling.
" Oh! But I do not want to go back to Olam yet till I find my daughter. I have to find my daughter first. I do not want anyone to find me yet especially her father" said Ruth.
" Do not worry since no one will suspect you. My car window is tilted so no one will see you from the outside and you do not have to worry since I am the leader of Mambo community. All the towns fear me except for your because of the closer gates. They say that that town is full of witches who come from the closer gates and live around Olam town" said Ryan.
Ryan immediately ordered Ruth to keep silent. He immediately drive out of Mambo town to Olam town. Ruth immediately slept in the middle of journey. She was tired after having a sleepless night because of the care that she had for Faith. As soon as they arrived Olam town, Ruth immediately woke since she noticed that there was a change of climate. Olam town was extremely hot but mambo town was extremely cold and rainy.
" You drive too fast. It took a long time to arrive at Mambo time especially the fact that I did not know where it was" said Ruth smiling.
" Have you forgotten that people of Mambo town are good drivers more than the people of Olam town? Just keep silent till we reach the chemist" said Ryan.
Ruth obidiently kept silent. She did not want to annoy Ryan simply because Ryan had been of much help to her. They arrived at the chemist. Ryan ordered Ruth to accompany him to the chemist. Ruth agreed to accompany him since there we no people outside the chemist and inside the chemist as well. They gave the pharmacist the lists of the medicines . On checking the list, the pharmacist insisted that the drugs could only be found at the closer gates.
" The drugs can only be found at the closer gates? How can this happen? Did Martin take all of them away from here? I have a sick patient who needs to take the drugs right away?" said Ruth desperately.
" Then go to the closer gates and order. After all, are you not the wife of the current owner of the closer gates" said the pharmacist.
Ruth immediately left to the car accompanied by Ryan. She noticed Ryan was angry and thought of defending herself.
" Sir! ......I ....." Said Ruth but Ryan suddenly interrupted.
" Don't Sir me. My real name is Ryan Mambo. You will enter the closer gates with me and you will get those drugs for Faith. I do not know the closer gates too well" said Ryan angrily.
It took Ryan five minutes to drive to the closer gates since the chemist was near the closer gates. Ryan drive inside the closer gates and parked his car inside. He got out of the car and opened for Ruth the glinding door of the car.
Ruth immediately got out. She held Ryan's arm and led him to the chemist. They entered the chemist and Ruth was surprised to find out that Tere was the pharmacist.
" What are you doing here Tere? Have you been stocking me and Faith all this while?" Asked Ruth filled with lots of curiosity.
" Yes! I told you both not to search for Purist or else serious consequences would come into you. Purist is my daughter and I know what is best for her. You do not have the right to control her life or say what is best for her again" said Tere angrily .
" Give us the medicines or you will see my wrath" said Ryan.
" And who are you? Who are you to command me as if you are the owner of the closer gates?" said Tere in a commanding manner.
" I am the owner and ruler of mambo community from which you have married your daughter. I can subject you into mob justice in my own town for getting your daughter married at the age of sixteen" said Ryan.
Tere immediately went to the shelves and took out the medicines. He handed the medicines over to Ryan.
" You have threatened me in my own community the closer gates. Ruth has three enemies here and that is Martin, Lady Akeshia and I. Let's see if you will be able to get out the closer gates. You both will go to the cell of hell" said Tere.
Ruth and Ryan immediately left the chemist without utrering a word. They entered the car and wanted to leave but were astonished to find out that the closer gates gates were closed.
Ryan immediately got out of the car angrily. He turned behind me and was astonished to find out that it was Martin. Ruth widened her eyes in disbelief since she did not expect Martin to be there.
" What are you doing with my wife?" Asked Martin angrily.
On hearing this, Ruth went and stood close to Ryan.
" He is my new fiancee. We just came here to buy drugs for his mother who is ailing from pneumonia. You need to let us go because his mother's life is in danger" said Ruth.
" He can go and take care of his mother but I will not allow him to leave a long with my wife. My wife stays here" said Martin.
" What are you talking about? Ruth and I got married two days ago. Why do you call him your wife yet he is my wife? Are you blind? You better open the closer gates a let me go back to my community with my wife. Unless.....you wanna pick out a fight with me" said Ryan.
Martin agreed to Ryan's terms. They immediately went to closer gates meeting square and Martin immediately rang the gate for the closer gates meeting. Everybody converged at the meeting square ready to listen to Martin.
" You are here today to witness the fight between the leaders two of different communities. If I win then we will get our wife Ruth back and if I loose this fight then he will take Ruth a long with him to be the female leader of his town" said Martin.
They fight finally began. Ryan might had been slim in body and and Martin slender but Ryan was a skilled fighter which Martin had no idea about. Ryan hit Martin till he fell on the ground. He therefore carried Martin and threw him on the people of the closer gates. Everybody at the closer gates were astonished by the kind of strength that Ryan had. On seeing this, Martin immediately allowed Ryan and Ruth to leave.
Ryan carried Ruth to the car since Ruth was astonished to see what happened to an extent that she did not want to leave Martin all by himself. They left the closer gates and headed towards mambi town but Ruth begged Ryan that they should pass by her home.
She knew that Naomi and Magdalene would get angry at her for not going to see them once they heard that she was sent around town.
" Mama! Mama! Grandma" said Ruth as she hugged both of them.
" Welcome back home Ruth. You have just gone for a little and we already missed you a lot" said Naomi.
" Mama! Grandma! I will not come inside today. Something happened to Faith while in Mambo town and I needed to rush her to the hospital. She has been admitted and the doctor claims that she suffers from pneumonia. It's all because we got rained on while still at Mambo town" said Ruth as tears welled down her eyes.
" It's alright! I think you should go back to Mambo town and take care her. I know that my daughter Naomi will take care of me very well. And who is this stranger?" Asked Magdalene smiling.
" His name is Ryan. He is the one who has been helping me and Faith at Mambo town. He the known ruler of that town" said Ruth smiling.
" Ryan! You are such a young boy with a cute smile, nice short hair and a pretty face. Take good care of my daughter" said Naomi in a commanding voice.
" Yes Mama Ruth. I will take good care of your daughter" said Ryan.
Both Ruth and Ryan went back to the car and left. Ryan drive faster since her was afraid that something bad would happen to Faith since she was waiting for the drugs and yet they had taken a long period of time.
