CHAPTER 83

Purist kept wondering if Ruth would go ahead and save her. Those were just unknown hopes. Purist changed into her beautiful gowns and joined Tere and her younger sister Vela in the car. They were also accompanied by Akeshia whom Tere claimed that she was good in choosing the best designs.
" You said that you would face me in this challenge. What happened? It's actually happening. You are going to get married at the age of sixteen" said Tere laughing annoyingly as she drove off.
" Will I also get married at the age of sixteen like Purist?" Asked Vela filled with lots of curiosity.
" Not really Vela .How would I let my own Vela get married at the age of sixteen? I would never let that happen. Your mama loves you too much to subject to to that kind of punishment" said Tere.
" And do you love me that much? Did you not use to love me that much before?" Asked Purist.
Tere turned towards Purist and signalled he to be silent. As Purist turned to the other side of the road, she saw the same type of car that she saw six years ago. She tried to check the inside the car and was surprised to find out that it was Ruth. She wondered if Ruth was really going to the closer gates.
" I forgot something in the closer gates Tere. Can we go back so that I can pick it?" Asked Purist in a pellucid voice.
" No! You cannot go back and pick whatever you are talking about. We have to shop for your wedding dress right way as planned. Do you get what am trying to say?" Said Tere but Purist was silent .
Purist seemed dissapointed since she really wanted to find out if Ruth was indeed going to the close gates. They arrived at the bridal shop and Akeshia started looking for the best dress for Purist. Purist kept looking around and was astonished to see Ruth in the bridal shop too.
" Grandma! I think that is Ruth. She is standing over there and looking at us as if she wants to help us. We also passed by her car as we were coming to the bridal shop and that was the main reason that I wanted to go back to the closer gates" Purist whispered at Akeshia.
" You do not have to think much about her Purist. That woman standing there looking at us is your mother Tere and not Ruth. Stop imagining your own things. I know that you are thinking about Ruth because of the unconditional love that you have for her but I cannot really blame you about that since it is not really your fault" said Akeshia as she hugged Purist.
This seemed to anger Tere who came and decided to look for the best design by herself. She paid for the dress and ordered them to leave the bridal shop. They went back to the closer gates.
Purist decided to look for Lady Nana who was still at the servant quarters. She entered the servant quarters and went straight to Lady Nana' s room.
" Hey Lady Nana . Has Ruth been here? We happened to pass by her car earlier" said Purist smiling.
" No! Ruth has not been here and I am apsalutely sure about that. Why are you asking ? I don't think that you passed by her car earlier. I had been cleaning at the balcony and I hadn't seen anything like that while still at the balcony" Purist left the servant quarters disappointed.
Maybe it was true what Lady Akeshia had told her earlier. It was indeed true that Purist had an unconditional love for Ruth which made her to imagine her own things. She went back to the mansion but was surprised when she saw Haggai sitting on her grandmother Magdalene's chair.
" What are you doing there? That chair belongs to my grandma Magdalene" said Purist angrily.
" What do you mean? This chair became mine when I became the owner of the closer gates. Who told you that Magdalene was your grandmother?" Said Haggai.
" I told her. Magdalene is her grandmother since I am her mother and Magdalene is my grandmother. Do you know who I am?" Asked Ruth as she entered the mansion.
Haggai turned behind him and was surprised to find out that it was Ruth. Ruth had no idea that Martin was taken into the cell of hell.
" Where is Martin? I need to have a proper conversation with Martin. I cannot believe that Martin is allowing Ruth to get married the age of sixteen" said Ruth .
" Papa is at the cell of hell mama. He was framed for shooting grandma Naomi. Grandma Akeshia was forced to be a servant like she used to be before" said Purist crying.
" Do you want to see Martin? " Asked Ruth as Purist nodded her head in agreement.
Ruth went to the cell of hell accompanied by Purist. Magdalene and Naomi had no idea that Ruth had gone to the closer gates. They also had no idea that she was planning to go to the cell of hell. Tere went to the living room not knowing what had transpired.
Everybody at the closer gates began to converge at the cell of hell. They all had already heard the news that Ruth had returned and had entered the cell of hell accompanied by Purist . This shocked them as it was not what they had truly expected.
" Why did you allow Ruth to go to the cell of hell accompanied by Purist? Now we do not even know when they would be back . People are now rioting at the cell of hell claiming that Martin might had been innocent" Said Tere angrily.
" Do not blame me for your misfortunes. I did not ask you to get your daughter married at Sixteen. Ruth might had heard about that issue and that was the main reason why she came back. She came to prevent her daughter Purist from getting married at the age of sixteen just like her" said Haggai angrily.
Tere wanted to slap Haggai but Haggai stopped her and slapped her instead. He led Tere to their matrimonial room and locked the door.
" You will stay there till you come back to your senses. If you do not stop the wedding then it will simply mean that Ruth will never stop coming here to fight for Purist's rights" said Haggai who left .
He went back to the living room and sat on the couch. He did not want anything that would trigger Ruth to come back to the closer gates with her family. The riot outside the closer gates did not stop. This continued till the lights in the closer gates turned green three times. This truly meant that someone had been released from the close gates .
On hearing this, Haggai went outside the mansion to check and was astonished to find out that it was Martin. He immediately went upstairs to his matrimonial room and slapped Tere once again.
" Go downstairs and fix the mess you created. Martin has been proven innocent over the accusations of attempted murder. Did you not provide sufficient evidence to prove this matter?" Asked Haggai angrily.
" I did it Haggai. I provided sufficient evidence to prove the matter. I am just astonished by the fact that Martin has been proven innocent . Please forgive me Haggai"
" You are totally weak Tere. You are weak as a mother, as a wife and as a leader" said Haggai who went and peeped through the window.
" Relax Haggai . He just left the cell of hell to go to jail. I always had plan B if plan A failed. The police will be here to pick up Martin in a short while . I cannot let him win this case so easily" said Tere laughing annoyingly.
I was indeed true. Within a short while, the police came into the closer gates and arrested Martin who was taken to cell. Purist kept crying since she was astonished by the situation.
" You have to stay at the closer gates Purist. I will have to follow them and find out the main reason why Martin is being arrested. I do not believe that he was the one who shot my mama . The person who tried to frame him up truly had a plan. B. I cannot believe that Tere can still do all this after killing my whole family back in my hometown" said Ruth who enter her car and left.
What!
' Tere killed Ruth's family back in her home ton. I cannot really understand why Tere had to do all this' Purist thought as she entered the mansion.
She finally understood the main reason why Ruth was so hostile to them when they came to look for her. It was simply because she felt that her family's life would be threatened once again. She immediately went to her room and locked the door since she didn't want to be confronted by Haggai and Tere.
