CHAPTER 94

" I want my daughter right in my arms" said Akeshia as she knelt down. 

Ruth widened her eyes in disbelief. She was astonished to see Akeshia helpeless begging her in such kind of a manner. 

" What are you talking about Mama Akeshia? I am not the one who has kidnapped Purist . I don't even know where they have taken her" said Ruth astonished. 

" What do you mean you don't know? Are you not the one who said that you were going to take Haggai and Tere to their destination where they lived? Now I am starting to believe that you have become evil. It's all because of you that my Purist has got married and I will never forgive you. I will never accept you as my daughter-in-law even if Martin decides in future to get married to you" said Akeshia who stood up and left. 

Ruth entered the house as tears welled down her eyes. She decided to contact Tere once more. She wanted to have a conversation with Tere for one last time. Tere agreed to meet with her in an enclosed garden near Ruth's home since she did not want to be seen by anyone especially Martin at all cost. 

" What is the reason for this meeting Ruth? I thought we were clear since I told you that  you will never have to look for Purist because you will never have to find her" said Tere. 

" Why not? Why should I not look for Purist? Why will I never be able to find her?" Asked Ruth filled with lots of curiosity. 

" Because if you try to find her, then I will make sure that you and Faith spend the rest of your lives behind bars. I will make sure that I produce the evidence proving that you and Faith killed those men in that abandoned house and not me and Haggai"

" Why will you do that? You and I both know that I did not kill those me. You know that I have to find Purist and free her from that forsaken marriage. I cannot let her spend the rest of her life with that old man"

" Then prepare to face my wrath miss Ruth. You must remember that every step you make will be the route to your downfall" said Tere who left. 

Ruth was astonished by everything that Tere had said. She got into her car and immediately left to her  house. She found that Faith had already arrived. She was carrying pictures of Purist's wedding as tears welled down her eyes. Ruth went close to her and tried to console her. 

" It's all our fault and the worst decisions that we had made. Martin blames me for everything and my mama does not want to see me anymore. I don't know what to do anymore. I feel like my whole life is shattered" said Faith. 

" Why do you say that you feel like your whole life is shattered? What do you think I feel Faith? I have failed to protect my own daughter and now she is already married and will suffer the same way that I do. I promise you and I swear to you that I will bring her back from the claws of her husband. I also don't know how she is surviving in the arms of her husband" said Ruth as tears welled down her eyes. 

"You both should go to your rooms and rest. Naomi will take Faith whereas I will take Ruth to her room" said Magdalene. 

They were both taken to their rooms. Magdalene decided to put Ruth to sleep but Ruth still found it hard to sleep. Faith found it hard to sleep too. They both decided to converge at the garden. 

" Since you both find it hard to sleep, why don't we take this moment and say that good memories that we have had in our lives? Let's go ahead and do it. I want to see the smile in everyone's faces. Why don't we speak about the happy memories in our lives?" Said Magdalene smiling. 

" My memory was when I gave birth to Ruth. I became respected in the community because she was the most beautiful girl that's why I resoluted into calling her Ruth. That's my wonderful memory" said Naomi smiling as everyone laughed. 

" My best memory was when I left the closer gates because no one was there to control me anymore. I lived my life the way I wanted till I met the live of my life. We got married behind everyone's back but one day he left without coming back. That was when I came to the closer gates and was surprised to find out that Ruth was married to Martin and  Martin had divorced Tere. That was how I became friends with a great lady like Ruth" said Faith smiling as Ruth hugged her. 

" My happy moments was when I got married to Martin and showered with him in the same room. It was the best moment of my life. I was able to understand what it meant to get married to the love of my life. That's the best moment" said Ruth smiling . 

Everybody remained silent. They knew that it was not good to comment on Ruth's matter. They therefore decided to go back into the house since Ruth's and Faith's mood had changed. 

Days passed but yet they had not heard anything from Purist. Ruth still feared to search for her since she was still scared of Tere's threats. This made Faith to realize that there was something wrong with Ruth. Fauth decided to have a private conversation with Ruth in her room at the mansion. 

" Ruth! We promised that we would such for Purist but you have been silent ever since. What is the problem? " Asked Faith. 

" There is no problem Faith. I have just been trying to figure out on where Purist might have gotten married to. It's rather strange that the old man got married to Purist after everything that had happened at the closer gates and we have no idea of who the old man is" said Ruth a bit worried. 

Ruth did not want to tell Faith about the truth of what she had discussed with Tere. 

" I do not believe. I need you to tell me what Tere told you to threaten that made you to stop searching for Purist. I know you love Purist with all your heart which would make you to not stop searching for her that easily. Purist is like your daughter. What did Tere tell you to threaten you?" said Faith. 

Faith was not convinced by everything. 

" Alright! I met with Tere after I dropped you at the closer gates that day and she threatened me. She has the video of us burrying those men in that abandoned house. She said that if I tried to search for Purist then she would release that video and put me and you both to jail. I cannot do this because I cannot leave my mama and grandma alone" said Ruth as tears welled down her eyes. 

Faith was astonished after she had everything that Tere told Ruth. 

" This must not be the end of everything Ruth. Tere is smiling wherever she is just because she has win this fight. Why should we give up Ruth? We even have no idea what is happening to Purist right now. That is the main reason why we must do everything to find her" said Faith as Ruth nodded her head in disagreement. 

Ruth immediately left her room. She did not want to be convinced by Faith to search for Purist. She decided that she should go and work at the office instead of working at home. 

As soon as she opened the door, she was astonished to find Martin seated outside the door. 

" What is it Martin? What do you want in my house?" Asked Ruth angrily. 

Ruth had not yet forgotten how Martin threw her out of the closer gates. She still held the anger in her heart. 

" I have come to apologize. I have to cone to beg you to help me search for my daughter Purist. You are the only one who can do this for me Ruth" said Martin as tears welled down his eyes. 

" I am sorry Martin but I cannot do this. I cannot go to jail because I know that once this happens then nobody will be able to take care of my mama and grandma. Ruth is a grown up lady and I do believe that she can take care of herself. Leave my house" Saud Ruth as she signalled to  Martin to leave. 

Martin immediate left feeling hopeless. He did not understand the main reason as to why Ruth feared that she would go to jail. He still decided not to involve himself in Ruth's problems. 

Naomi on the other hand had spotted Purist on the town where she went to trade the clothes that she made in her business. She tried to follow Purist but she suddenly disappeared.
