CHAPTER 135

After few hours of mourning, Ruth went towards Akeshia and Martin then requested them to leave. She remembered that she  had just given them few hours to mourn.

" I want to see my mama get burried in her own grave. Why don't we forget our differences and make this straight? I don't have anything to do with what happened regarding Mr.One" said Akeshia in a pellucid voice as tears welled down her eyes.

" Why are you lying to me Akeshia? I know that you were planning to steal my grandma's body and hold  a burial ceremony there at the closer gates. Did you think for a fact that this was what my grandma could have wanted? She is my grandma She is the mother to my mama. We are the ones who are her blood" said Ruth.

" Please forgive my mama. It was love for Grandma that made her to do that. Grandma was the one who took my mama in when she was a little child and raised her as her own daughter? Were you not the one who told me that you do not have to become a mother by birth in order to have a child? Therefore, grandma did not have to give birth to mama in order to become her mother" said Martin.

" Papa! I know that my mama said that but this time it does not necessarily mean the way you put. Grandma Akeshia never tried to do anything to bring our family back together. Our families had always loved each other. We were a perfect family; my mama Tere, my Papa Martin and me then my mother ruined everything. I convinced my Papa to bring Ruth into our lives and marry her but all this were ruined too when Tere came out of the closer gates. The same people who claimed to treasure family never really treasured family at all. Ruth is very right. Both of you deserve to leave here right now" said Purist as she went towards Ruth and hugged her.

Akeshia and Martin immediately left. They had no idea that Purist would come since they never saw Purist as soon as they arrived at the burial ceremony. This was simply because Ruth had sent one of the guards to bring Purist a long with him since she remembered that Purist had told her that an umarried woman was not supposed to enter her daughter-in-laws house. This was  simply because she was not married and that was one of the community rules.

 " I might not remember everything properly Ruth but I know that my grandma Magdalene was a good person" said Purist as she embraced Ruth more tightly.

" Thank you so much Purist and everyone for always standing by me. I will always treasure all of you for the rest of my life. But I still think that Akeshia and Martin should be here. Will you be alright mama?" Asked Ruth who knew that Naomi wouldn't like it at all. 

" I think so too. They were as important to my mama as I was. Mama gave Akeshia the exact everything that she gave me. She loved me the exact way that she loved her. She dressed me the exact way that she dressed her. She never thought of doing the good things to her daughter and the worst things to the person that she thought was knew was not  her real daughter" said Naomi as tears welled down her eyes.

Purist and Ruth went towards her then embraced her. They knew that it was a hard decision for Naomi to make.

" I will go and inform my mama and brother about the news" said Faith.

" I am coming with you Faith. The people of the closer gates cannot be trusted. Tere might end up taking you to the cell of hell" said Ruth who left accompanied by Faith.

As soon as they arrived out of the church, they were atonished to find out that Akeshia and Martin were seated outside there. They immediately went towards them. 

" You are allowed to entered but you will not stay in my grandma's house as soon as she is burried. That will definetly be this evening. Where is Lady Nana and Lady Ruby? I just thought that they could have been here too. Are they at the closer gates? They knew Grandma too. Didn't they" asked Ruth filled with lots of curiosity.

Ruth did not really ask that question to find out where Lady Ruby and Lady Nana was. She asked the question to find out where Tere was.

" They are at the closer gates with Tere. Tere wouldn't dare allow them to leave and attend to this ceremony because they always attend to her" said Martin.

" I knew that right. Tere never stopped and will never stop being the selfish, arrogant and prideful woman she has always been. Let's go inside and get this thing done with. My grandma is really tired and needs to have a restful place" said Ruth who entered the church. 

The priest had finally arrived and was already conducting the ceremony. He finally gave a chance to someone who wanted to say something about Magdalene. Ruth raised her hand and went forward to the stand.

" Ever since I lost my family, that was my father and siblings, I never thought that I would loose someone else whom I treasured so much. It has come to pass once again that I had to loose my grandma because somebody killed her. Why would someone want to do such kind of a thing to her? Was it because she seemed to be too old?  I assure all of you that once the culprit is caught, I will kill that person with my bare hands. I will not spare that person's life as no one has the right to take somebody's life away from him or her. My grandma was a good person. She was the sole founder of closer gates and now that she is dead, I will fight for what she has always wanted me to do. I will go back to the closer gates someday and get back what is rightfully mine" said Ruth as tears welled down her eyes filled with lots of anger.

Ruth immediately left as Naomi stood up and went to the stand. Everybody looked at her filled with lots of emotions. They felt pity for the fact that she was mourning her own mother.

" My mother was a good person. She was the sole owner of the closer gates just like the way my daughter has said. She never wanted to harm anyone as she loved everybody with all her heart but everybody always despised her and called her a witch. Nobody ever wanted to understand that my mama was not a witch. She only created the cell of hell inorder for the people who committed crimes to suffer their sentence there but they instead sent her to the cell of hell for crimes she knew nothing about. They chased me out of the closer gates because they knew that my mama was innocent and that I would have fought for her justice. I will fulfill one of your promises mama. I will get back the closer gates back to me" said Naomi. 

Akeshia looked at Naomi angrily by the statement that she had said. 

AKESHIA'S POV.

I will never give you the right to claim the closer gates. It was mine from the beginning when I became your elder sister Naomi. You and your daughter can fight for it but I will make sure that you will never get that right. You will never get the right to claim the closer gates because the closer gates is just mine.

Akeshia thought as she went towards the stand. She wanted to say her last speech towards the death of Magdalene. Naomi immediately left the stand as soon as she saw Akeshia approaching the stand.

" My mama Magdalene was a good person and that was the main reason why she transferred the ownership of the closer gates to me. I will forever be indebted to her for that. I ...." said Akeshia but Ruth suddenly interrupted.

" You are a liar Akeshia. My grandma never gave you the ownership of the closer gates. Till now she has died not enjoying what she had always wanted most in this earth. She has died without enjoying the ownership of the closer gates. And until now she has died a mysterious. Oh! Would you please stop shedding crocodile tears because you never cared about her for even a single day?" shouted Ruth which astonished evetyone at the burial ceremony.

Everybody looked at Ruth astonished. They were in deep state confusion on whom to believe. Even the priest did not really know what to say. 

" I think Ruth is right. This lady Akeshia is lying over here. Ever since that woman came to Mambo town, all what she ever mentioned was the fact she wanted her family to get their ownership of closer gates back. It's only today that I have realized that this old filthy woman was responsible for all that. The evil will die just like grandma" said Vivian smiling.

Ruth looked at Vivian astonished since she knew that all what Vivian said was all a lie. Vivian signalled to Ruth to look at the front since she couldn't bare to see Ruth's sad face. Vivian had finally found someone to work with. She considered at that instant that she would work with Akeshia in order to bring Ruth down.
