CHAPTER 142

Was it a token of appreciation or love?

As soon as Faith finished arranging the clothes at the closet, she immediately left the room leaving both Nelly and Ruth behind. Ruth knew that Faith was going to visit Vivian at Mambo cell but decided not to follow her since she did not want to bother herself on her affairs. Ruth and Nelly decided to go  to the kitchen to prepare a meal. A lot of commotions had happened ever since they entered Mambo town which made them not to be able to find out time to prepare any meal.

" What kind of meal are we going to prepare Ruth? Please don't you dare tell me ugali because I am not even in a position to prepare one. I am still feeling a little bit weak" said Nelly in a pellucid voice smiling.

" Don't worry dear sister. Today I have decided that we are going to prepare Faith's favourite dish. We are going to prepare rice and beans. It's going to take a long period of time but I know that we will finish cooking it on time and make it tasty and delicious by adding spices" said Ruth smiling.

Ruth therefore took the spices and started crushing them using a pestle and a mortar. As soon as she finished, she ordered Nelly to cut the onions and tomatoes. After that, they began to cook together.

" You know what Ruth. My mama and I used to do this together when I was three years old before she met her untimely death. I don't really understand myself but at first I felt like being with grandma Magdalene was like being with mama and now you have brought to me all the memories of my mama back by cooking together with me in the kitchen. I don't really understand myself. I just miss my parents too much" said Nelly as tears welled down her eyes.

" Nelly! I can understand how you feel. I know that you know a part of me and you as well understand the fact that I lost my father and siblings because of a woman who loved my ex husband and daughter entirely. I have lost my grandma too because of that woman. I feel like of if I let any of you go out of your own, then I would loose any of you at any particular point" said Ruth who hugged Nelly.

They felt emotional and kept crying for a long period of time till they forgot the food that they were cooking which almost got burnt in the process. This made them.to prepare them ingridridients once more and began cooking another type of dish. This time, they decided that cook fish and ugali. The kind of food that Ruth was preventing herself to cook before. They did not want to care about how long it would but they knew they had to prepare a meal.

Akeshia and Martin on the other hand felt lonely since it was like they were living alone in the mansion except for the loyal maidens; Lady Nana and Lady Ruby. The loyal maidens were the only ones giving them company. They were both seated at the balcony taking glasses of juices which had been ordered to them by Lady Nana.

It was then that they saw Mr. Ones car and his guards standing outside the gates of the closer gates.

"  What is the meaning of this Martin? Does it mean that Mr. One has not left the closer gates ever since we begged him to get out? We have to let him in Martin. He is a leader of another town too and it's a shame to belittle himself like that " said Akeshia who felt pity for Mr. One.

" No mama. There is no way that I am going to let Mr. One in and let him leave with you. Can't you see that what happened between me and Purist a few years ago will happen again? Till now I know that Purist does not want anything to do with me and Tere as well. She only adores Ruth as if Ruth is her only mother and father. I understood this when she ran to Ruth during the times of troubles in her life. Do you want to loose your children the same way too?" Asked Martin feeling a little bit sad.

" You are right Martin but on the other hand you have to understand that Mr. One is Faith's....." Said Akeshia but Martin suddenly interrupted.

" I don't have to understand anything mama. If you want then you can go ahead and follow what makes you happy" shouted Martin at Akeshia who left to  his room.

As soon as he arrived in his room, Martin began to cry. Tere arrived at the mansion at that time and went straight to Martin's room. She wanted to steal some bracelets thinking that he was not in his room but felt pity after she saw him seated on the floor crying.

She immediately went towards Martin and wiped his tears as she hugged him.

" What are you doing here Tere? What are you doing here? I don't want you to be here especially right now that I am going to  be left alone. My mama is going to leave me too. Please don't wipe my tears because I want to cry" said Martin.

" You are not alone Martin. You and I have both made mistakes in our lives, but we cannot pay for them. Other people will always have to pay for the mistakes that we have made. You don't need to cry Martin. You need to regain more force and energy to maintain your territory" said Tere.

" So! You are the one who has been poisoning my son to make the mistakes that he has always made in his life. Why? Why have you suceeded in ruining everybody's life? Now I want you to understand that I can never leave my son. Get out of this room and the closer gates as well" shouted Akeshia at Tere who signalled to her to leave.

" Why would a woman who does not know what she wants in life control me? You wanted Ruth so much to come back from Mambo town and live at the close gates but later on you convinced me to come back and play my role as Martin's wife. Now you have Mr. One who is supposedly Faith's father and he wants you back. I don't have to listen to this confused nation. I just have to go my own way" said Tere who immediately left the mansion and the closer gates as well.

Tere was astonished to see Mr. One standing outside the gates of the closer gates because she did not come through that way. She sneaked through the way of the beggars corner.

" What are you doing outside the gates of the closer gates? I think that you are the so-called Mr. One that is causing a rift between Akeshia and her son Martin. I must recommend the fact that you are doing a good job" said Tere who kept laughing at Mr. One.

" You might laugh at me thinking that what I am doing is useless but you are mistaken. What I am doing is not useless. I know that Akeshia will definetly come here and take me in. She loves me too much to pity me" said Mr. One laughing annoyingly.

" Perfect! This seems like an interesting drama. Allow me to sit in your car as I wait to watch this unfaithful drama. I am sure that Akeshia is not coming outside to take you inside" said Tere who went and sat on the seat inside Mr .One's car.

Tere was sure that Akeshia would not come outside the closer gates for defending Martin. It was clear to Tere that Akeshia was not ready to leave Martin at any instant.

Eight hours passed but there was no trace of Akeshia outside the closer gates.

" Mr. One! Please listen to the fact that you have to go back to town one. Akeshia is from this town and from the closer gates. There is no way that she can leave this town all for your sake. You have to understand that true love died the moment that Ruth decided to fight for young girls who got married at the age of sixteen. That girl is the main obstacle and the only reason why you cannot be with Akeshia and Faith" said Tere.

Tere wanted Mr. One to exact the revenge Ruth since she was not able to exact revenge on her. Tere wanted to look good on her side especially the fact that she wanted to get Martin back in her life. She knew that if she did that then Mr. One's family would never be complete as he wanted to. Faith would never get a chance to be happy.

" I think I know what to do. I must first try out and exact my revenge on Ruth for making Faith not to accept me back into her life. If I kill Ruth, then Faith will come back to me and that will make Akeshia to come back as well" said Mr. One smiling.

" I will help you" said Tere as she shook hands with Mr. One.

That was another bond of revenge formed. Both Tere and Mr. One left the closer gates since they needed to discuss more about the issue formed.
