CHAPTER 127

Martin placed the divorce papers on his heart and smiled. Haggai who felt frustruated went and peeped through the window which made him astonished as soon as he saw Martin still holding the divorce papers smiling which made him feel agitated. He decided to go to the backyard where Martin was and began to throttle him which astonished all the warriors who were helping him arrange the weapons. 

They immediately went towards Haggai and Martin since they wanted to save Martin from Haggai but Martin warned them not to do anything.  Martin knew that Haggai was throttling him since he was filled with lots of anger. Tere and Akeshia who wanted to find out how things were going on at the backyard went to the backyard and were astonished to see Haggai throttling Martin. Tere ran towards them then  tried to stop them but Martin pushed her away which made the divorce document to fall on the ground. 

Tere picked the document and was astonished to see that it was the divorce papers which were already signed. 

" Is this the main reason why you want to kill him Haggai? Martin is not the reason why I have seeked for this divorce. You are revenging on the wrong line. You better park your things and go to the abandoned house if you really know what's best for you" shouted Tere at Haggai angrily. 

" You choose him simply because he has given you half of the closer gates. What makes think that his decision is valid? Did you sign a contract? This is not the other kind of world in the past where reconciliations used to be made by word of mouth. I wonder why you trust this man too much and yet he hasn't even gone through the legal process. I might be a warrior but I know some things and how they run in this world" said Haggai. 

" Nothing you say will make me feel bad Haggai. This is closer gates and the culture of closer gates haven't changed even for a single bit. If you have nothing more to say then you can walk your way out" said Tere angrily. 

" Fine! I wish you a happy married life with Martin. May both live to fulfill the desires of your heart. Let's see each other on the day we will end up in jail. After all, we were the ones who killed those people who we guarding us at the abandoned house. You are the one who killed Ruth's father and siblings. So! Let's see how long a murderer and a saint are willing to keep their relationship" said Haggai who left. 

Tere stood aghast for a while not knowing how to defend herself yet she felt that she had to if she wanted to maintain the good relationship she was beginning to have with Akeshia.

" He is probably doing this because he feels bad I have divorced him mama. I know that I have never been a good person but I am not capable of killing anyone. I am begging the both of you to believe me" said Tere who knelt down as tears welled down her eyes. 

Akeshia and Martin looked at each other in deep state of confusion. They heard news from people that Ruth's father and siblings were killed but had no idea that they could have been killed by anybody near them. This was because Tere made it look like it was robbery with violence case which made Ruth's father and siblings to be killed. The culprits were caught later and sentenced to many years in prison. 

" I believe you Tere because I am the one who has made Haggai to divorce you. Don't shed those tears which Haggai want you to shed anymore. Let's go inside" said Akeshia who held Tere's arm and led her to the house. 

Martin was astonished by Akeshia's change of behaviour. He wondered how Akeshia decided to forgive Tere so easily after all the harm that she caused them. This made him to follow them and requested to have a private conversation with Akeshia. Both Akeshia and Martin went to the study and left the door open to prevent anyone from ears dropping. 

" Why are you defending Tere all of a sudden mama? Have you forgotten everything she did to us? She is the main reason why Papa is in the cell of hell till now" said Martin a bit sad.

" Tere is the right woman for you. It does not really matter the past mistakes that she made for everyone makes mistakes. Can't you find it in your heat to forgive her? This is the right thing to do in order to get Purist back into our lives. A plan must always be settled in a trickster way only if the devil is happy. Don't look at me like that son! You don't need to understand this and how I make my decisions. I know you want this war in order to prove to Ruth that you can always get what you want but that is not what I want. I want...." Said Akeshia but Martin suddenly interrupted.

" Enough! I don't want and will never accept Tere back into my life. She made a mistake by divorcing Haggai. Get out of my study because you and I have nothing more to talk about. What are you waiting for? Get out of my study right now" said Martin who went towards Akeshia who still seated. 

Martin helped Akeshia to stand from the chair and therefore kicked her out of the study. He locked his study and went to his drawer then took Ruth's picture. He kissed the picture as he smiled and cried at the same time. It was as if he knew that Ruth was going to be beside him someday. 

At that instant, somebody knocked at the study door. Martin immediately hid the picture in his drawer and went to open the door. He was astonished to find out that it was Haggai. 

" What do you want now? Are you here to kill me?" Asked Martin who seemed tired.

" I have already packed my things. I am finally going to leave the closer gates and I will never come back no matter what happens. The only thing that I will come back for is my Tere because I will never stop loving that woman unconditionally. I cannot forget all the vows that we took when I got married to her. She is my life and I will only die when she dies" said Haggai in a calm voice. 

" All you do is to say this and that but you never add an impact in anybody's life. You always waste your energy talking nothing. Just go and never come back. I don't need your influence here at the closer gates" shouted Martin at Haggai. 

" You seem too confident of yourself but by the time I come back, I will make you understand that you are weak" said Haggai who bowed before Martin as he left. 

This proved that he still honoured Martin as the owner of the closer gates. He boardered a taxi and ordered the taxi driver to take him out of Olam town to another town which was neither near Olam town nor Mambo town. He did not want to remember all the bad memories that happened to him in both towns.

Ruth was glad by the fact that every volunteered warrior of Mambo town knew how to make weapons. She urged each one of them to go back to their homes and assigned them remidial for making two new weapons by themselves.

Ryan was amazed by everything who also came to escort everyone out of the house till only him, Ruth and Nelly were left. 

" Where's Faith?" Asked Rith who noticed  that Faith was not there who could have helped her to teach the people of Mambo town on how to make the weapons.

" I haven't seen her either. Maybe she went to visit her brother at the closer gates" said Nelly smiling.

" No! I know Faith and she knew that the last time I was angry when she left without informing me. I felt as if a part of our sisterhood ended. Where is she? She cannot easily disappear from us unless she has been......." Said Ruth but Faith suddenly interrupted who entered the house at that moment.

" Kidnapped! I only went to find out if I could visit Purist of which I did not suceed. He co-wives claimed that she went for the white market. Now I am back here as depressed as usual" said Faith.

" Why? You shouldn't be sad about that since you have tried your best. I am just sad that till now you don't initiate me in your plans. Is that how much you see me useless?" Asked Ruth as she went towards Faith. 

" I did not want to interfere with your plans of teaching the people of Mambo town on how to make weapons" said Faith smiling.

" I understand you perfectly well" said Ruth who left. 

Ruth still felt that Faith found it hard to trust her and that was why she was doing things on her own.
