CHAPTER 153
The doctor looked at Naomi and smiled. The doctor felt that he had a tight task in front of him. He needed to teach them about blood transfusion and bone marrow transfusion. He therefore invited them to his office for a few lessons needed.
They all went to the doctors office and sat silently as they wanted to listen to him.
" Blood transfusion is all about transferring blood from one another to another. This only happens when the person transferring blood matches with the other person who needs blood. That is what all of you are going to do as a family. You are going to go for a check up then from there we will see which blood matches with our humbled Ruth. I have heard much about her and therefore I believe that she is a good person. I will explain on the leukemia thing later. Can we please do what is important right now?" said the doctor who signalled to them to follow him to the laboratory.
As soon as they arrived at the laboratory, they were all done tests and their blood type detected. Unluckily, none of them were a match to Ruth. This made Naomi to be filled with so much worries.
She immediately went to Ruth's ward and found out that Ruth was already awake. Ruth was curious to know what the doctor said was the problem with her.
" Am I suffering from any disease mama?" Asked Ruth in a hoarse voice since she was still weak.
" The discuss you are suffering from is not the main important thing right now Ruth. You need a blood transfusion and I believe someone like you knows what it means because you went to school. None of us is a match your blood type" said Naomi as tears welled down her eyes.
" What do you mean that I need blood transfusion mama? When did I loose a lot of blood? I agree that both Haggai and Tere were sent by Martin to beat me up but I did not blesd too much. I don't understand why the doctor is saying this. I am sure that this is one of my enemies plans" said Ruth angrily.
" Ruth! You really need to listen to me because this is not one of my enemies plans. This is something that the doctor himself has confirmed. How then can it be wrong?" said Naomi.
" They can always be wrong mama. This is not the times that we used to live when I was a little child. Doctors tend to be paid money to lie about someone's condition. That is exactly what this doctor is doing and I cannot believe anything because if none of you is a match then I only know one person who is a match. That person is none other than Martin" said Ruth which astonished Naomi.
" I will be the one to find out what is the truth. You stay here and rest because I am the one who is going to face Martin" said Naomi who left the hospital.
Out of worries, Ruth removed the syringe that had been placed on her left arm and decided to follow Naomi even though she was still feeling. She knew that Naomi was going to cause a commotion which would bring a great danger to her. Unluckily, Faith saw and went towards her then stopped her from leaving. Faith thought that Ruth was trying to sneak from the hospital. Faith held Faith's arm and took Faith back to her ward.
" I want to go out please" said Ruth in a horsse voice as she entered her ward.
" Where do you want to go Ruth? You are in a delicate condition right now" shouted Faith at Ruth.
" Why should you care? I have to go right now. I cannot really let my mother go there by herself. I have to go please" said Ruth.
" Why should I care? I care because when I was sick, you risked your life and went to the closer gates to get me medicines simply because Tere had bought all the medicines that I needed and took them to the closer gates. Why should I not do the same? I will be the one to follow Naomi to the closer gates. I will send Ryan and Nelly to look after you" said Faith who left the ward.
Faith immediately contacted the doctor to come and check on Ruth and therefore inject her another Syringe if there was any need to. She therefore went outside the hospital and found Nelly and Ryan standing outside who seemed worried. She decided to go towards them.
" We have seen Naomi leaving in a hurry? Where has she gone to?" Asked Nelly.
" Aunt Naomi has gone to the closer gates. She has gone to confront Martin about Ruth's issue and I know that it won't be good for her. That's why I am leaving right now. You both should go to Ruth ward and take care of her before she makes any hasty decisions" said Faith who left.
She arrived at the closer gates after a few hours. This was after she requested the taxi driver that she should be the one to drive. She was lucky that the taxi driver agreed for her to drive. This made her to pay the taxi driver half the salary that she was supposed to pay him.
Faith immediately entered the closer gates after she highlighted the taxi. She was astonished to find out that the Naomi had been taken to the meeting square and all the people of the closer gates had already converged there. They all wanted to witness what Martin was planning to do to Naomi since martin had tied Naomi at the meeting square using his both hands.
Faith went towards the meeting square and as soon as she arrived, she slapped Martin and released Naomi which astonished everyone.
" Today you have proved that you can never be a son to anyone who is not your mother. Didn't you ever ask yourself where you could be if grandma Magdalene did not choose to adopt mama? What could have happened if Naomim had died when she was still young? Then the closer gates could not have been present right now since everything that was done, was done for the sake of Naomi. This is her territory. This is her home" shouted Faith at Martin angrily.
" What then should I do? Should I humble myself before Naomi and kiss her feet? Were you not there when Ruth decided to cut her ties with me? I really wonder the person whose side you are on" shouted Martin back at Ruth.
" Are you the one speaking about relationships right now? Ruth cut ties with you because she had a reason to. I am going to cuties with you as well because I really believe that I have a reason to. I cannot be a sister to a brother who does not even value relationships. How does such a person expect me to treat him like a brother? He even lost respect to a woman. A woman whom I have always considered as my mother" said Faith as she began to cry.
Naomi stopped leaning on Faith and stood upright as she wiped her tears. This made Faith to stop feeling guilty after everything that she had told Martin.
" It was an accident that I agreed Ruth to get married to Martin a few years ago. Now I have learnt my lesson. You can keep the closer gates and all of my properties the way you want to but you cannot keep my daughter away from me. I want you to stay away from my daughter. Leave her alone because she is going to get married soon" shouted Naomi at Ryan.
" And I will do everything to make that wedding sucessful. Ruth now loves Ryan with all her heart and I believe it's a high time for Ruth to be happy" said Faith who left the closer gates accompanied by Naomi.
Martin felt hurt by everything that Naomi and Faith had said to him. He looked at everyone angrily who left immediately. They were still afraid of him since Martin was the kind of a person who would never let things slide easily.
Akeshia decided to approach Martin accompanied by lady Nana and Lady Ruby.
" Relax! You don't always have to be defeated all the time. You need to prove to them that you are not Martin Tupfer for nothing. You need to prove to them that you always get what you want" said Akeshia as she comforted Martin.
" Do you promise Mama? This is a good chance for you to prove to me that you are not my mother for nothing" said Martin who left the meeting square.
Akeshia leaned on Lady Nana's shoulder and therefore began to cry. She felt as if Ruth had bewitched Martin. Yet she felt there was something she could do about, that was to make sure that Ruth got married to Ryan. That was the only way that Martin would stop thinking about Ruth and focus on himself.
