CHAPTER 148
All Ryan's anger and fears dissapeared at that instant. Although Ryan felt happy about Ruth's words, he still felt bad that he had not yet gotten married to Ruth. He felt that the marriage needed to take place as soon as possible.
Ryan kept staring at Ruth still smiling which made everyone at the living room to be amazed except for Lawrence. He was still sad by the fact that Vivian was still at the mambo cell.
" We understand that you have missed her too much and that is the main reason why you can't stop staring at her. What about Vivian?" Asked Lawrence pretending to smile who could not stop wondering the main reason why Ryan did not bother to get Vivian out of Mambo cell.
" The new case manager has not been officially appointed. How then can Vivian get out of mambo cell? I feel bad for her too but that does not mean that I have to justify her actions by getting worried about her. She will have to pay for her past since her past actions towards everyone was very painful" said Ryan filled with lots of sadness.
Lawrence angrily left the mansion. He found it hard to believe that people were still against Vivian and yet he felt that anybody else could have done such kind of a wrong thing towards someone and taken to Mambo cell. Everybody could have sympathized with the person.
Lawrence decided to go to mambo cell to visit Vivian. As soon as he arrived, he was astonished to find Vivian eating her meal. He wondered who could have brought the meal to Vivian yet it was against the rules of the land. This was simply because anybody who was arrested at Mambo cell was not allowed to eat till the day that person was released. That is the main reason why most people faced their untimely death.
" Who is brave enough to go against the rules of our town? Who brought you food?" Asked Lawrence filled with lots of hapiness but curiosity at the same time.
" Ruth and Faith are the ones who brought this meal to me. They have always brought a meal to me ever since I got arrested and taken to here at Mambo cell. I don't understand why they have to do this to their greatest enemy or whatever thing they are trying to prove but what is fact is that they have risked their lives by going against the law of the land" said Vivian in mixed emotions.
" Then we can use this against them. Haven't they gone against the laws of the land as well? Give me those bowls. They will serve as an evidence for them to be arrested and join you here at Mambo cell till Nelly is appointed as the new case manager" Said Lawrence laughing annoyingly.
" No Lawrence. You cannot do such a thing to Faith and Ruth. If you do that then no one will be brave enough to bring food to me here at Mambo cell the way they risks their lives and do it. I am not doing this for them, I am doing this for myself because I cannot tolerate hunger" said Vivian.
Lawrence silently left the mambo cell. He went back to the mansion and found out that the whole family were still seated at the living room.
" Thank you. I appreciate the fact that all of you are my family" said Lawrence who went to his room.
" What is the problem with Lawrence?" Asked Nelly.
" I know that Lawrence is being affected by the fact that Vivian is at Mambo cell. The bond between two soulmates is very strong and I can understand this because I once loved someone and now am in love with another. That is the main reason why I perfectly understand Lawrence because people in such kind of state tend to be confused. No husband who is madly in love can spend more than a day without his wife on his side" said Ruth as everybody nodded their heads in agreement.
" Please go and check my mama in her room Ruth. She was feeling a little bit unwell today" said Naomi all of a sudden as tears welled down her eyes.
It was finally clear to Ruth that Naomi had not yet accepted the fact that Magdalene was dead. This made Ruth to go towards Naomi filled with lots of tears.
" Mama! Grandma is dead and you have to accept the fact that she is no more. Why do you keep reminding me her memories over and over again? We should let her go mama. We should let her soul rest in peace. If not, then she will keep getting worried about us. We should learn to cope without her mama" said Ruth as her tears fell on Naomi's feet.
" What are you talking about? My mama can never and will never be dead. It's like you don't even understand me and yet you are supposed to be my daughter. You are supposed to be the one who understands me more than anything else in this world. I am tired and I need to go and rest" shouted Naomi angrily at Ruth who left.
Ruth fell on the floor filled with a lot of bitterness. She kept wondering how she was going to convince Naomi that Magdalene was already dead. Faith went beside Ruth and tried to comfort her but Ruth resisted.
" No Faith. No one understands how I feel now. How will I be able to convince my mama that my grandma is dead? I think the only way out is to take my mama back to the closer gates. She is hurting inside day by day Faith. This is hard for anyone to understand" said Ruth filled with lots of sadness.
" What is hard for anyone to understand Ruth? My mother did not have the full right to burry grandma. I felt pity for her but did not do anything because I know that you were good enough to allow her pay her last respects to grandma which was such a small thing. Why do you want to go to the closer gates because of such a small thing too? You and I have always defeated everything in this earth ever since we met each other at the closer gates. That is why both you and I will be able to recover Aunt Naomi from this kind of death trauma" shouted Faith at Ruth filled with lots of tears.
Ruth silently went towards Faith and hugged her filled with lots of emotions. Ruth therefore wiped Faith's tears on her cheeks as Faith wiped Ruth's. They both looked at each other and smiled.
" My beautiful sister. Till now you still stand by me in every decision that I make in my life. Your love for me is unconditional and my love for you is unconditional too. We will be able to overcome this challenge that we are passing through right now someday" said Ruth as everyone at the living room smiled.
" That's how it should be dear sister. Before we think about the war, we need to make Aunt Naomi realize that grandma is dead and there are many other tragedies that are going to sorround us in future which needs her to be strong" said Faith.
Both Ruth and Faith left the living room. They went to Naomi's room and were astonished to find out that Naomi was no longer there. They decided to go and look for her at former Magdalene's room. As soon as they arrived, they found Naomi seated on top of the bed as tears welled down her eyes. They both went and sat beside her.
" Mama! You have to accept the fact that grandma is gone. She was killed and instead of mourning her death, we should be investigating the main cause of her death. You were there mama. Aren't you aware of everything that happened that day?" Asked Ruth.
" I know everything that happened that day but I decided to be silent because somebody threatened me to be silent. As much as I want you to know, I am sorry but I cannot tell you anything" said Naomi as she kept looking at the room door filled with lots of fear.
This made Ruth to turn towards the door filled with lots of suspicions. She was astonished to find out that both Ryan and Lawrence were standing there. She wondered the main reason why Naomi became scared all of a sudden as soon as she saw both Naomi and Ryan.
" I am glad that you are you improving mama. I know that very soon you will be able to accept the whole situation about grandma" said Ruth who stood and went towards Ryan and Lawrence.
" Why are you both here? My mama is going to be fine only if I look after her. You can both go now " said Ruth who signalled to both Ryan and Lawrence to leave and therefore locked the door.
" Who is threatening you Aunt Naomi?" Asked Faith.
" To protect my two beautiful ladies is the most important thing in my life right now. That is the main reason why I will never tell the both of you the truth of what happened that day" said Naomi who went to the closet and started parking all of Magdalene's clothes that remain behind in the closet.
She had planned to burn them afterwards. Naomi felt that that was the only way to erase Magdalene's memory from her mind.
