CHAPTER 147

Tere pretended to be asleep since she did not want anything to do with Haggai at that instant. This made Haggai to go back to the kitchen and came back to the room carrying a glass filled with cold water. He poured the cold water that was in the the glass on Tere's face which made Tere to wake up. 

" What do you think you are doing Haggai? How can you pour cold water on me? I have seen a lot of misunderstandings between married couples but I have never seen one who pours cold water on his wife instead of giving her the warmth that she deserves" Tere shouted at Haggai angrily.

" I have done this since you have been trying to neglect me ever since you came back here at the abandoned house. Maybe I should have surrendered you off to the police that day. Maybe it is true that you just need to learn it the hard way" said Haggai laughing annoyingly.

" No! I am begging you not to take me to the police station because I don't really think that I can spend the rest of my life in that lonely place. I would rather spend the rest of my life making Ruth miserable rather than spending the rest of my life in a lonely police station" said Tere who left the room. 

Tere did not really want to quarrel with Haggai any longer. She was confused at that moment and had no idea of what she really wanted for herself. She decided to go to the kitchen and eat the delicious meal that Haggai was claiming he had cooked for her. 

Mr. One on the other hand arrived at town one and immediately ordered for the presence of all the warriors at the case square. He informed them that there would be a war soon. The warriors agreed to his plea to fight during the war but had no idea of what they were going to fight against.

Town one had never been involved in war with Mambo town before since they considered each other as brothers. This was because of the great bond that they had in trading and sharing of the same type of leadership system. 

This was in such a way that men led and women solved the cases in the society. It was unlike Olam town where anybody who led also solved cases in the community and made verdicts which did not have to pass through the council of elders. 

" We agree to your terms of going into war against Mambo town but we do not understand why we have to break the relationship that we have had with them for so many years. Is it a problem with trading? Is it a problem with change of currency? What is really the problem?" Asked one of the warriors in the multitude filled with lots of curiosity.

" Mambo town has always been a good town since they shared with us all our pains and sorrows. We even celebrated with them and they celebrated with us as well during the happy times of our lives. I now fail to wonder what we will have to do in order to bring back that strong bond of relationship after the war. I feel bad for this but I have to do it for love and the kinds of threats that I have received from a woman for the very first time" Said Mr. One who left to the town one mansion which was his mansion. 

As soon as he entered the house, he went towards the wall pictures and looked at both Ryan's picture and his picture as tears welled down his eyes. He felt bad since he knew that the kind of war that was going to take place would kill a lot of people from Mambo town who were innocent. 

Mr. One immediately took Ryan's picture and threw it on the floor which made it to break into pieces. Unfortunately, he turned behind him and was astonished to find out that Ryan was standing beside him smiling. This made Mr. One to be filled with lots of guilt since he had no idea of the time that Ryan had arrived in Town one. 

" Ryan! Why didn't you inform me that you were coming over to town one? How is your beloved family?" Asked Mr. One smiling. 

" Are you really asking me that? I have overheard everything that is going on in this town as soon as I arrived. I know the fact that you are planning to attack my town with the help of the people of Olam town and the mini town closer gates as well. Why are you doing all these? Have you suddenly forgotten everything...?" Said Ryan but Mr. One suddenly interrupted. 

" Please! Don't you dare question our long term friendship in the past. I really value the past relationships between these two towns. The war that is going to take place has nothing to do with with our friendship rather than selfish gains. I am deeply sorry that you had to hear it from other people and not me. Take good care of my daughter Faith during the war because I know that no matter what I do, she will still choose to fight beside Ruth because she values the relationship that they both have" said Mr. One who knelt on the floor and picked the pieces of glasses that fell when he threw Ryan's picture on the floor. 

He immediately took Ryan's picture that fell out the frame and placed it beside his picture on the wall. 

" I want my picture. I know that you understand too well the fact that broken bonds are never meant to be mend" said Ryan who went towards the wall pictures and took his picture.

Ryan immediately left mansion one and town one as well. He felt that there was nothing to discuss anymore with Mr. One since he had already made his decision to attack Mambo town. 

He boardered a taxi and ordered the taxi driver to take him to Mambo town. The taxi driver immediately took him to Mambo town and Ryan highlighted the car as soon as he arrived at the boarders of Mambo town. The guards immediately opened for him the gates of the boarders of Mambo town to enter. Ryan entered filled with lots of sadness. 

He walked towards the mansion as tears welled down his eyes. Ruth was astonished to see Ryan crying as soon as Ryan arrived at the mansion since she was seated at the balcony. Ryan eyes had already turned to red due to a lot of anger. 

Ruth immediately ran towards Ryan  and hugged him since she felt that hugging Ryan would be able to make him calm down even though she had no idea of what the problem was. She therefore held Ryan's arm and led him to the living room where everybody where seated. 

" What is going on Ryan? Is this not the picture that Mr. One usually keeps in his wall pictures at mansion one? Why have you come back with it? Does it mean that our bond with that town has been broken? What is going to happen now that the bond has been broken? Does it mean that there is going to be a huge war between our towns?" Asked Nelly filled with lots of fear as she took the picture from Ryan. 

" I would like to say that you are wrong by all what you have asked me my sister but I can't. There is going to be a huge war and many of us in Mambo town are going to die innocently since we do not have strong warriors. The people of Olam town and the mini town closer gates together with the people of Town one are planning to attack us. I don't know what to do about the situation" said Ryan who sat on the floor. 

Ruth had never seen Ryan helpless like that before. She decided to think of a way that  would help them to win the war. She knew that the only strongest and skilled warriors were Faith, Naomi, Purist and her yet the four of them would not be able to defeat such strong warriors from powerful towns that made war weapons. They would end up dead or helpless in a pool of blood. She therefore felt that forming an alliance with other bigger towns other than Olam town and Mambo town would make them win the war. 

" Listen to me Ryan. Do you know the main reason why I chose to marry you instead of Martin? Because I had never such a unique man such as you before. You accepted my whole family. Despite buying packed foods, you still knew how to cook and your entire family as well. You proved to me that a man could love me without accepting the obstacles in his life to ruin the love. You were able to fight for love like a true Mambo warrior when you accepted to go into war with Martin. I know what we can do to win this war. Olam town and Town one are only two towns but we have so many other towns sorrounding us with skilled warriors. We can form an alliance with them and surprise our enemies during the war" Said Ruth smiling. 

" You are such a wise lady Ruth" said Ryan as he smiled. 

All his fears and anger dissapeared at that instant. Although Ryan felt happy about Ruth's words, he still felt bad that he had not yet gotten married to Ruth. He felt that the marriage needed to take place as soon as possible.
