CHAPTER 181

Unluckily, they did not find any taxi outside the closer gates. They kept waiting for a taxi till they got tired. This was such a unique thing which had never happened before.

Fortunately, a black ranger rover KDB 166 9 stopped infront of them who were already feeling weak. The sun had already gone down. The glinding door of the car was opened and the sight of the slender heavily built driver made both Ruth and Purist to be scared.

" Where are the both of you going?" Asked the man smiling as he got out of his car.

" We are going to Mambo town. I am the supposed wife of Ryan Marianna, the ruler of the land" said Ruth in a serious tone.

" Nice! Do you both mind if I give a lift?" Asked the strange man smiling.

" We do mi...." Said Ruth but Purist suddenly interrupted.

" We actually don't mind sir. We have been standing here the whole day but no presence of any taxi. Please help us sir. We really need to go back home. Our family is waiting for us" said Purist folding her arms.

Ruth pushed Purist aside filled with lots of anger.

" What is the problem? I would rather die outside my own home in this dark rather than accept a lift from a total stranger" Ruth shouted at Purist.

" Why mama? Why should we die here where nobody wants us? " Said Purist as tears welled down her eyes.

" Because it's the best thing for us to do right now. Purist! You have to trust your mother above everything else in this world. I know what is best for us. If you want, I can give you my sweater and my scarf so that you wouldn't feel cold but there is no way that I would allow us to go with a stranger" said Ruth who removed her sweater and scarf then handed it over to Purist.

They therefore went and sat near the gates of the closer gates as Purist lay on Ruth's thighs. He went back into his car and drove off. It was then that it dawned on Purist that the man was indeed there to harm them. There was a mark at the back of the car written ' YOU GET A FREE LIFT WITHOUT KNOWING YOU MUST DONATE BLOOD BEFORE YOU LEAVE'. A lot of blood sachets were also hanged at the back of the car. This made Purist to sit upright and stop lying on Ruth's thighs filled with lots of sadness.

" I am sorry. I am deeply sorry for pursuading you to let us accept to enter the car. Now I have a mother's word is important to be followed. I will forever listen to you mama. You are my world" said Purist as she hugged Ruth but were interrupted by the noises of a car which was suddenly coming out of the closer gates as the gates were opened.

Firm arms which seemed like Martin's arms signalled to both Purist and Ruth to entered the car.

" Mama! I don't want to make the same mistake again. It's also dark and we are not sure who is in the car" said Purist.

" Do you see that star up there? It's the star of wish which has just fulfilled our wish. Let us go. I don't think the person in the car is going to harm us" said Ruth as she stood and assisted Purist to stand.

Ruth therefore help Purist's arm and led her towards the car. Ruth opened the glinding door of the car as they both entered but were astonished to see that the driver was Martin. Purist looked at Ruth filled with lots of hapiness as they smiled at each other.

" Papa! How did you know that we were out there?" Asked Purist.

" I actually wanted to save the both of you from a big tragedy that I felt had befallen you . Today , you both could have been killed and you blood brought to Tere. I just thank my ears for overhearing speak on the phone at the study while I was with mama. Mama is the one who asked me to take you both to the nearest hotel and make sure that I give you enough money to go by boat to Mambo town. There is a problem with the taxi's and therefore they won't be working for the next two days" said Martin who drove them off and made them to highlight the car as soon as he arrived at the nearest hotel.

" Aren't you coming with us?" Asked Ruth smiling.

" No! Just take this money and use it to purchase food and a comfortable room for the both of you. Somebody will bring for you both clothes and a hat to hide your faces till you reach the lake. That man has been given huge ammount of money and he will make sure that he hunts both of you till he finds. You are both still my family. You are my daughter Purist and you are the woman I have ever loved Ruth. Therefore, it is my greatest priority to protect you both" said Martin who drove off immediately.

Purist and Ruth entered the hotel and tried to book for a room but they were devastated as soon as they found out that all the rooms had been booked. The receptionist informed them to atleast try and wait since there was a group coming who had booked the book earlier from a lawyers conference the depart the next day in the morning. They might be lucky to find an empty room if maybe one person fauils to come.

They both sat at the couch that was near the reception waiting till they group that they had been told about suddenly entered. They were both given accomadation to their respective rooms and left. Ruth used the chance to ask the receptionist if the was any vacant but the receptionist shook her head filled with lots if sadness.

" Thank you. You have atleast tried for us. We have no choice than to leave" said Ruth as Purist tears dropped on her arm which she had placed on Purist's shoulders.

Ruth immediately wiped Purist's tears but stopped immediately she felt someone grabbing her hair which astonished her. She turned behind her and was astonished to find out that it was her former law classmate back in the Olam university where they both studied law.

" Ruth! I can still recognize you even without seeing your face. What are you doing in this hotel dressed up like a common Olam town lady? Are you not here for the law conference?" Asked Martha smiling.

" No Martha. I resigned from being a lawyer. I am just a commoner now" said Ruth a bit sad.

" Why? What has happened to you my humbled classmate?" Asked Martha a bit worried.

" A lot of things which are unspeakable. I really want to find a place but we have been told all the room in this hotel are occupied. I guess it means that tonight we will have to sleep on the streets. My daughter and I have no other choice" said Ruth in a pellucid voice.

" Daughter? Is she your daughter? Now I can understand the rumours that you were married at the age of sixteen. It's amazing to know that it brought forth a woman like her. And again! How can I allow you to sleep on the streets. Please follow me to my rooms. I have two beautiful beds but I can only sleep in one" said Martha smiling who led the way to her room.

As soon as they arrived, Martha immediately went and lay on the bigger smartly spread bed.

" Sorry Ruth. I have a problem with my backbone that's why I cannot sleep on that small bed. I hope that that bed will fit you and your daughter" Said Martha as she turned on the other side of the bed.

" Please go and sleep Purist. I know that you are tired and need to rest. I will join you later. I still want to go to the restaurant and purchase our food" said Ruth.

" Mama! I think bad things are still going to happen to us. There is something wrong somewhere. I think it has to do with the ancestral vase of flowers" Said Purist who seemed to be a little bit worried.

" My darling. There is no challenge that you and I cannot pass over and become successful. Whatever the problem is we are going to pass over it. Nothing bad will happen to us because I am going back to the closer gates. The three of us are going to perform the spell that we should have performed" said Ruth who left the room.

Purist who was still worried about Ruth and felt that something bad might happen to her decided to follow her till she reached the restaurant which was not far from the room that Martha was sleeping. Ruth immediately ordered for food but was astonished as she decided to go and sit but had a vision.

She saw her name written on the chair. It was as if her name was calling her somewhere where she was needed the most. This made Ruth to suddenly feel weak and collapse which made Purist to run towards her.

MARRIED AT SIXTEEN.
