CHAPTER 201

Ruth began to hit Ryan as he continued driving. This made him to almost loose control since he had not yet healed from the bruises he got in Olam town after Evelyn decided to destroy him using his spell.  

" What are you doing Ruth? Are you really not scared of death?" Asked Ryan filled with lots of anger.

" We cannot die of our time is not yet up Ryan. Still, I am not scared of death. I will rather die than watch you ruin my life how you want to" said Ruth in a pellucid voice.

With all the destructions, what Ryan feared the most finally happened. The car suddenly lost control which made to get into an accident including little Jackson. 

Faith and the rest of the family spotted where the accident had taken place.  As soon as they arrived, Purist was astonished to find out that little Jackson was already dead. This made her to wail screams of sadness.

" Didn't Faith and I tell you people to trust in my mama?Look what has happened to my son. You have killed my son. My mama and Ryan are fighting for their lives now. Only fate knows whether she will survive or live" shouted Purist at both Evelyn and Naomi as tears welled down her eyes.

The police and the ambulance arrived at that instant. Alot of people had converged at the scene of accident. This was after they heard that the person who was involved in am accident was the mambo town leader Ryan.

Both Ryan and Ruth were taken out of the car. Ryan seemed to have lost alot of blood whereas Ruth seemed to be unconscious.

" Jack...ja... Jackson" said Ruth as she was taken into the ambulance which drove off immediately.

This made the rest of the entire family to follow the ambulance closely till the ambulance arrived at the hospital. 

Jackson was taken to the morgue whereas Ruth and Ryan were taken to the emergency room. The rest of the family was requested to wait at the waiting room and prepare for the worse.

After more than four hours of waiting, the doctors finally came out of the operation room. They seemed sad as if someone was already dead. 

" Ryan is in a better condition but he has suddenly gone into a comma. Ruth is Ina good state too but the whole incident has greatly affected her legs. She might not be able to walk again" said the doctor who suddenly left. 

The sad news devastated both families. Naomi on the other hand decided to follow the doctor to his office. She was determined to leave mambo town before dusk the exact same  way that they had planned before this fatal accident. 

As soon as Naomi entered the doctor's office, a sudden feeling of fear gripped her heart. She was scared that the doctor might not allow her to take Ruth out of town and back to her  hometown.

" Doctor! I am aware that my daughter Ruth is in a terrible condition but then I cannot stay in this town for a longer period of time. I am begging you please" said Naomi who folded her arms but the doctor signalled her to stop.

" I really do not like it when an old woman who pleads in such a manner. All I want is for you to try and understand me. Your daughter's condition is still worse. She had a head injury which we need to examine within the next two days. Give me two days please. I can truly understand the pain of a mother but then I am a doctor. There is really nothing that I can do about it" said the doctor in a pellucid voice.

Naomi felt that no matter how much she pleaded with the doctor, there was no way that the doctor was going to allow her to leave accompanied by the doctor. Therefore, she felt that the better option was Evelyn.

Purist on the other hand could not stop crying after the loss of her son. She blamed Evelyn and Naomi and could not stop thinking about it. She immediately went towards Naomi as soon as she entered the waiting room coming from the doctor's office.

" Are you happy now? Look at my mama's condition, she might not be able to walk anymore. Jackson my son. What wrong did ever to you grandma?" Shouted Purist at Naomi.

" His role as your son made my daughter to save him. Now my own mama is paralysed and there is no way we can do anything about it" said Purist.

" Purist is right Aunt Naomi. Your own daughter's life and future is in danger just because of your mistakes. Your foolish mistakes. I don't think I can ever forgive you for this. Ruth is my sister and I care about her as much as all of us do" shouted Faith at Naomi.

" Enough! Enough with the both of you trying to blame for what has happened to my daughter. Is it wrong to try and be a mother? I understand that it is only right for a mother to do anything for the sake her daughter. How was I supposed to know that little Jackson would have died in the middle of this mess?" Asked Naomi as tears welled down her eyes.

" What are you saying aunt? I know that you love Ruth above everything else. That is why you didn't care at all about little Jackson's life" said Faith. 

Evelyn looked at them a little bit tired of their arguments. She felt that what had happened had already happened and there was no way in which they were going to change destiny. Destiny was bound to follow them anyway whether good or bad.

" Why are you people shouting and trying to fight against each other like cats and dogs. You are all a family, aren't you? So why all this? All of you are at fault. Why can't you all understand the fact that no one is good at all? Everybody is at fault. I am at fault. Faith is at fault. Purist is at fault. Naomi is at fault. Jackson is at fault. Ryan is at fault. Apsalutely everybody in such a way that no one has the right to blame the other person" shouted Evelyn at everyone.

This made everyone to become silent. Evelyn truly knew how to make everyone smile, cry and not to feel guilty. 

" I am very sorry. I won't try to do this again. I don't want anybody to feel guilty. I am your mother faith and I am your grandmother Purist. I know that I really don't have to blame all of you" said Naomi.

"Aunt! The fact that your consider yourself my mother is enough for me. I am your daughter and you are my mother so I don't understand why we should seek forgiveness from one another. We should just always be happy" said Faith smiling in a pellucid voice.

" I am sorry too grandma. I shouldn't have treated you the way I did. I should've have blamed you for Jackson's death. It's Ryan , he is the one to be blamed for all this and his undying love for Ruth. Grandma! Can I go and see my mama?" Asked Purist.

" Yes my darling. Go in and see your mother" said Naomi as she nodded her head in agreement.

Purist immediately left and went to her mother's ward. As soon as she entered, she found her mother sleeping calmly which made Purist to cry loudly. She had never been so heartbroken. It was her first time to see her mother in such kind of state. 

" Mama! When you first came into my life, you were only sixteen years old yet I knew the fact that you were perfect for me. You were indeed the perfect person for me. I hate it so much to see you in such kind of state. I also hate the fact that  I actually had to plead with you to go and save my son Jackson" said Purist who suddenly felt regretful and wanted to leave.

" Please don't go Purist. Please don't leave me alone in such kind of state. You know that I love you so much with all of my life. You are my only daughter in this earth and there can never be anyone like. So, I will always sacrifice anything for your sake" said Ruth.

Purist immediately went back to Ruth and embraced her with mixed emotions. That bond of mother to child was meant never to end. Purist never ceased to call Ruth her mother while Ruth never ceased to call Purist her daughter. It was just a matter of time for Ruth to be well again. Jackson's family also needed to be informed about Jackson's sudden demise. 

All this took a little bit of time since Ruth was declared paralysed. She suddenly went into depression. She did not want to fight for anything in this life. She just wanted to die.
