CHAPTER 205
" I accept your help Ruth. You are still a good person. You always don't care about the number of things that people do to hurt you. You always care about other no matter what" said Faith as she moved away from the window.
Ruth gave Nelly other clothes to wear. She also gave Nelly one of her cape from her suitcase which was inside the ward closet. Nelly wore and they both left the ward. They went to the hospital cashier and Ruth wanted to help settle the debt. Thid was after she had wrote the cheque of the down payment from her bank account.
They gave the cheque to the cashier and were immediately given the receipt. They decided to take the receipt to the doctor who finally gave them the authorization to take Ryan to the ward. Ryan was immediately taken to the ward next to Ruth.
Ruth finally felt that she had done what she wanted to do. She decided to go back to her ward and left Nelly arranging Ryan's clothes in Ryan's ward closet.
As soon as Ruth arrived at her ward, she was astonished to see Vivian and Lawrence standing there.
" You two? What are you doing here?" Asked Ruth a bit tensed.
She knew that Ryan's ward was beside her and did not want either Lawrence or Vivian to know anything about it.
" Where is Nelly? Where is Ryan? We thought that Ryan was in the intensive care unit. Where have you hidden them?" Asked Lawrence filled with lots of anger.
" Where have I hidden them? Why are you asking me? I should be asking the both of you about their whereabouts. Can't you see my state? I am living with a disability and have no idea of when I will be able to recover" said Ruth as she pointed at her legs a bit sad.
" So you have no legs at all? It's better if your hands stopped working too. I could be the happiest woman in this entire world. It's pointless talking to this woman Lawrence. It is really clear that this vagabond has no idea about anything. Let's leave this hospital. We must find Nelly " said Vivian as she left the ward accompanied by Lawrence.
Ruth heaved a sigh of relief and kept wishing that Vivian and Lawrence did not find Nelly and Ryan until Ryan fully recovered. Ruth therefore remained at her ward seated on a wheelchair until Evelyn suddenly came in to help her rest her body on the ward bed.
" Thank you Evelyn but please stop using all your witches powers on me. Have you forgotten that it backfired when Lawrence kidnapped me? That is the main reason why I cannot walk till now" said Ruth a bit sad.
" Are you saying that I am incompetent when it comes to my powers? Why do you really say that? It was just a bad omen that Jackson died, Ryan went into a comma and I am now suffering from a disability. I really feel like I hate myself. Anyway, since the doctor has refused to treat from my illness, Nelly is going to treat me" said Ruth smiling.
" If you want to have the disability that you have now for the rest of your life, then allow Nelly to treat you. You are a witch Ruth. Such disability can only be cured using your witches power. You are not really the same as Jackson and Ryan who heal naturally. I can heal but that will happen only if you give me a chance" said Evelyn as she folded her arms pleading with Ruth to give her a chance.
Ruth immediately turned on the other side of the bed. She did not want to support Evelyn's idea. She felt sad that something was going would turn bad around somewhere. Maybe it would affect her to the situation that she would never be able to walk again.
" Ruth! Please turn around if you really mean it when you call me your sister" said Nelly who entered the ward.
She had overhead everything that Evelyn and Ruth were talking about.
" Why are you saying this Nelly? " Said Ruth as she turned around towards Nelly.
" You have to accept what grandma Evelyn is telling you. It's written in the Mariana constitutions book. Didn't I tell you that she was a witch before she was considered as an outcast in our town? I have always wished to see that grandma of mine Magdalene Mariana .Even if it was just for a little while" said Nelly smiling.
" Fine! I will let grandma Evelyn heal me. Then I will make it my mission to know where Magdalene Mariana dissapeared to" said Ruth smiling.
Nelly therefore left the ward and locked the door from the outside as instructed by Evelyn. She then stood outside the ward in order not to allow anyone to come inside till Evelyn had finished her spell.
After a few minutes, Evelyn had already finished narrating her spell. She ordered Ruth to stand and start walking. Ruth obidiently stood and slowly began walk towards the door.
As soon as she reached the door, she was as happy as a lark that Evelyn's spell really worked out. Unluckily, she was still limping and it was due to the numbness on her leg. She really assured herself that she would heal soon.
Evelyn decided to leave at that instant but Ruth suddenly stopped her by holding her arm.
" Grandma Evelyn! I am asking you for the last time. You have lived for so many years and you know alot more than I do. Who is Magdalene Mariana?" Asked Ruth filled with lots of curiosity.
" Are you really sure you want to know the truth? What if I tell you that Magdalene Mariana has always been with you all this while?" Asked Evelyn smiling.
" Is it you?" Asked Ruth.
" No! Magdalene Mariana is your grandmother Magdalene. She is not as old as Nelly and the rest of the family have always thought she is. She was my sister and not only my best friend. Ryan, Nelly and Lawrence have always been your cousin. Your mother Naomi is there Auntie. She is the youngest sister to their father. Naomi had never told you that, that is because she had no knowledge of it" said Evelyn which astonished Ruth.
" But grandma never told us that. Does this mean that Ryan killed his own grandma? Why then did my grandma allow me to get married to Ryan?" Asked Ruth a little bit astonished.
" She knew it from the beginning that the only person you loved was Martin. She could have never allowed you to get married to Ryan but then she was killed before even she completed her mission here and she will be back for vengeance. She wants her grandson to pay for killing her" said Evelyn.
" You know what? Get out of my ward right now. I don't believe what you are saying. My life was a mess before I met you. So don't you dare try to make it more complicated grandma Evelyn" Said Ruth who signalled Evelyn to leave who immediately knocked the door and Nelly opened from the outside.
Evelyn left filled with lots of anger .Nelly on the other hand entered the ward filled with lots of hapiness. She had overheard everything and was happy by the fact that Ruth was her cousin.
" Cousin! Please sit. I am glad that you can walk again" said Nelly who was as happy as a lark.
" I don't believe a word of what Evelyn has said. It's clear that you've overheard everything. I will have to find out the truth and the main purpose as to why Evelyn has come back into my life. I always see the past but her past can't get to stock into my head. I don't know how to go about it. I will have to summon my grandma Magdalene" said Ruth.
Nelly looked at Ruth filled with sadness as all her hapiness suddenly faded away with all the doubts that Ruth had towards the matter. This made Nelly to leave Ruth's ward. She felt that she needed sometime to think about everything that was going in her life.
Nelly decided to go to the hospital washrooms. She felt that that was the best place to go in the hospital if she really wanted to be alone .
As soon as she entered, she saw Evelyn standing by the mirror.
" You are heartbroken? I knew that Ruth would never want your family as her relatives. What about Magdalene? She did not have any guts to tell you she was her grandma. What a wasted time? The only thing she cared about at that time was Ruth and her great granddaughter Purist. You don't hsvevto waste your time on that family" said Evelyn.
" But I love Ruth and I am much happier that she is my cousin" said Nelly who smiled as she left the washrooms.
She also began to doubt Evelyn's mission inher life. She seemed to have a hidden agenda. Nelly felt that that mission was going to tear everybody apart.
