CHAPTER 206

Nelly decided to go to Ruth's ward. She wanted to inform Ruth about her feelings towards Ruth but before she could reach her ward, she felt someone grab her by her neck. The person therefore took her to the emergency door of the hospital and led her outside the hospital. 

As soon as they reached outside, Nelly was astonished to find out that it was Evelyn. She widened her eyes in disbelief  this clearly proved that the presence of Evelyn in their lives would cause alot of problems to them.

" Why have you prevented me from going to Ruth's room?" Asked Nelly filled with lots of anger.

" I had to. You were going to tell her about your doubts and I will not allow you to do that at any cost. You will never get the chance to speak to Ruth about what you feel. That foolish girl always listens to people she trusts most and take their opinion into consideration. I will not allow you to do that" said Evelyn in a commanding manner.

" You will not do that to me Evelyn. Destiny will always allow me to do whatever it wants to do ylfor the good of everyone. Ruth will someday know about all your intentions and she will apit you out of her life. She is the reason for your excistence in this family" said Nelly who wanted to leave but Nelly suddenly stopped her.

She cast a spell on Nelly at that instant that made her to be dumb. Nelly tried to speak as tears welled down her eyes but was unable to speak. 

" Now you will not have to speak anything. I don't know why you behave as if you know everything. You know nothing and you can never understand anything. The sooner you know your place , then I will return your freedom of speech back to you" said Evelyn who entered the hospital. 

Nelly stood aghast for a while not believing what had just happened to her. She now felt that the story Evelyn gave about Magdalene Mariana was not really the truth. She therefore thought of another way to tell Ruth about how she felt. 

Nelly decided to go to the hospital cashier and borrowed a paper and a pen. She hid in one of the hospital's ward and decided to write a letter to Ruth. As soon as she finished, she went to Ruth's ward. 

Nelly found Evelyn and the rest of the family seated there at the ward. They were all filled with lots of hapiness since Ruth was walking once again. 

Nelly went towards Ruth as fear gripped her heart. She hugged Ruth and smiled as she handed over the letter to Ruth without anyone realizing it. Nelly therefore hurriedly left the room and Evelyn looked at her filled with lots of suscpiscion. 

" You all are happy by my state but I really need sometime alone. I need to think about a few things over" said Ruth who signalled everybody to leave. Everybody immediately left the ward which gave Ruth a chance to read the letter. 

Dear Ruth,

Our life began to be a mess the moment you entered my brother's life. I really loved you but I found it hard to despise you the same way Lawrence and Vivian did. You gave me the courage to become the case manager and trusted me that I would secure that post and rule with lots of fairness. 

But now. Do you still trust me? Do you still trust in what I say? Now listen to me. Our lives are in danger because of the presence of Evelyn. She is really out there to ruin us. I am dumb sister. I cannot talk anymore because she was afraid that I would tell you about my doubts towards her. 

Please be careful dear sister and help me. I really need my speech back.

Ruth felt frustruated as she finished reading the letter. She found it hard to believe that the person she had trusted the most had now made her life to be a terrible nightmare.

Ruth got out of a ward. She decided to go and search for Nelly and knew that the only place she would be was at Ryan's ward. Her doubts were right. Nelly was at Ryan's ward but was still unable to speak.

Ruth immediately went towards her and hugged her filled with lots of sadness .

" Nelly! It's true that I am the one who has made your lives a living hell ever since I entered Ryan's life. It's good and nice that you have also pointed out the good in me. I want to help you speak again only under one condition" said Ruth as Nelly nodded her head in agreement. 

" You will pretend that you are still dumb. We will let Evelyn carry on with her plans and then catch her if we can. After that, we will throw her out of our lives for good" said Ruth as Nelly nodded her head in agreement. 

Ruth immediately kissed Nelly on her lips for a few second. This made Nelly's lips to turn to black and then to it's original colour once again. 

" Call my name Nelly" Ruth commanded Nelly smiling.

" Your name is Ruth Baraka and you come from Olam town. You are the daughter of Aunt Naomi and the granddaughter of the late Magdalene" said Nelly who was as happy as a lark. 

" Now all you need to do is to stick to our plan. Do everything as I have told you to do. Pretend to be dumb" said Ruth who turned behind her and wanted to leave but was astonished to see Evelyn standing at ward door.

" I was looking for you everywhere Ruth. What are you doing here with Ryan? Have you forgotten his obsession for you? Since you can walk again, we need to seek for your discharge. You are supposed to continue your work at the law firm soon. I really do not want you to loose your chance this time" said Evelyn smiling. 

" Thank you grandma Evelyn. I just want to tell Ryan something then I will be with you shortly" said Ruth in mixed emotions. 

As soon as Evelyn left, Ruth leaned on the wall and began to cry. She blamed herself for people who easily came to her life. 

" Please don't cry Ruth. I do understand how you feel. I have an idea. Why don't we do a blood test in order to be able to confirm whether what grandma Evelyn said is correct or not" said Ruth smiling.

" What about the fact that she was Magdalene's best friend?" Asked Nelly. 

" We will have to do an investigation to find out whether that is correct or not" replied Ruth. 

" What about the fact that you saw Magdalene's grave at backyard of her house?" Asked Nelly. 

" We will have to investigate and find out whether my thinking...." replied Ruth but Nelly suddenly interrupted.

" is correct or not" said Nelly as Ruth, Nelly and Ryan both laughed.

" Today you have made me smile Nelly. You've made me forget all of my problems. That is exactly what I needed. Today I have cured you and you have cured me. Ryan is really improving and I know that he will soon be taken home. Now I really think that I have the strength to go to Jackson's family and give out my condolences" said Ruth smiling.

" Please go girl. Face the world and get whatever you want to get. Do not allow anyone to ruin you at all" said Nelly who signalled to Ruth to leave.

Ruth left Ryan's ward as she had been ordered by Nelly. She therefore went to the hospital receptionist and took the discharged forms. She filled in the forms and took them to the doctor.

The doctor still refused to give Ruth the discharge approval which made Ruth to be filled with lots of anger. 

" What is wrong with you doctor? Why are you like this? Who is paying you? Oh! Do you still think that I am that lady who is still suffering from disability? Now you will see my true colours. You will discharge me whether you like it or not because you do not know who I am. I am a lawyer and I am a witch as an added advantage. I can make people think that you ate metslly I'll and I can take you to jail. Start speaking. Who is the person that does not want me to be discharged or get proper treatment in this hospital? " Asked Ruth as her eyes suddenly turned to red.

" Mrs. Eve.....Mrs. Eve.... Evelyn" said the doctor which astonished Ruth. 

" Eve...Evelyn. How can she do this to me? Anyway, I do not really care about that. What I want right now is my discharged approval? Give it to me right away or I will cut of your toungue" said Ruth as the doctor gave the discharge approval to Ruth filled with lots of fear.
