CHAPTER 210

" The only way to defeat them is through the ancestral vase. I have to get it. That is the only way I will get the powers to rule over the closer gates. There is no other way" Ruth said.

" Show them that you are taking the powers of the closer gates first. Forget about the ancestral vase. That will come later" said Evelyn who began to drive her way to the closer gates.

Ruth seemed tensed throughout the journey. It was not in her plan to take over the closer gates. The only thing that she wanted was to seek justice for Magdalene's death. This was no longer possible since was Ruth was out of Mambo town.

As soon as they arrived at the closer gates, Ruth and Evelyn easily entered the closer gates even if there were guards around. Evelyn used the witches powers she had to make her car invisible so that nobody would know anything about it.

Seeing the mansion once again made Ruth to tense. She remembered that the last time she was there all the things she had was nothing but pure bad memories.

Ruth got out of the car as her eyes tilted up to see if there was someone at the balcony. Luckily, Ruth saw Martin and Akeshia seated there. It seemed that they were happy about something. Ruth just smiled as she slowly walked into the mansion accompanied by Evelyn who was holding her arm and leading the way.

Lady Ruby and Lady Nana were busy in the living room washing and cleaning the couch. Everything was lit inside the mansion. It was as if a celebration was going to take place.

On the sides of the walls, there were pictures of Ruth, Faith and Purist. Beside the pictures, there was a tag written ' welcome back home'. 

Ruth widened her eyes in disbelief. She felt that maybe Martin had heard the news that they left Olam town. So he thought that Ruth was going to come back home accompanied by Faith and Purist.

" Call those thieves downstairs immediately. We need to do away with them right away. They need to leave this place this instant" said Evelyn which astonished Lady Ruby and Lady Nana after hearing her voice. 

" Where else do you want them to go grandma Evelyn? You didn't mention this in your plan" said Ruth.

" Alright! Then if you want them to stay here, I will have to stay here too. Your little family that you care about will have to stay here including your grandma Naomi" said Evelyn.

" Fine grandma Evelyn only when I feel defeated but as soon as I gain more strength, you will be very sorry. You will wish that you remained in the graveyard that you cake from. You would now have an idea of who you are speaking about" said Ruth angrily.

" Call them now and let my plans begin" said Evelyn in a commanding manner. 

Ruth decided to go to the balcony instead of calling them by name which angered Evelyn who followed her in silent anger. Evelyn did not want to utter any word. Evelyn wanted to see what Ruth was going to say and do to Akeshia and Martin. 

As soon as they arrived at the balcony, Ruth went and stood in between Akeshia and Martin. She therefore signalled them to be silent.

" I have come to take back what's mine .Do you both have the courage to give it back to me or should I use force?" Asked Ruth in a commanding voice.

" What are you talking about Ruth? How can you come from nowhere and say that you've come to take what's yours? Do you think we are one of the lives that you toy with as if it's your life?" Asked Akeshia filled with lots of anger.

" Are you telling us this after putting in total consideration? I don't really think so. I think there is more to it. Is Ryan making you to do this? " Asked Martin who suddenly went towards Ruth.

Ruth looked at Martin filled with lots of sadness. All of his life, he had lived fighting for the leadership of the closer gates even though he knew that he was not his right to be a leader. Now they were going to take away from Martin the only thing that he cherished the most. 

" There is nothing more to this Ryan. Often, my family has always been looked down upon. Take a look at my grandma, she died a merciless death only because of the war that you had with Ryan. What about Purist? She got married at the age of sixteen. It was as if you did not really learn anything from me and my past young marriage. What about my Aunt Naomi? She was shot right under your watch and in this same closer gates but they have not gotten their justice up until now" shouted Ruth at Martin.

" You are seeking for justice but yet you are the one who is filled with lots of injustice. You are treating me in such a way that maybe I wanted all of this to happen which is not the case. Haven't I tried my best? Purist got married to that old man because I wasn't there. You of all people know of how much I loved grandma Magdalene. Why then would I have wanted to kill her? I am not really as heartless as such. I am someone who's got feelings and someone who cares about my family and have always cared about them" said Martin filled with lots of anger.

" I am the one who is making her to do all this. Come on Akeshia, you of all poeople have always known that the closer gates usually belonged to me and Magdalene but then she died a mysterious death. Now I want what once belonged to me back to me. Is that toouc to ask"  asked Ruth which made Martin to want to slap her but Evelyn stopped him by holding his arm firmly.

" How dare you try to raise your hand in on a woman? Who do you think you are? Is that how you were taught by your parents? That it is really fair to raise your hands on a woman? I am really dissapointed in you Martin. Your upbringing must had been the worst than what I am trying to imagine" said Evelyn.

" His upbringing? Are you trying to blame his upbringing? You....." Said Akeshia but Evelyn suddenly interrupted.

" You do not know anything about upbringing Akeshia. I really think that there are some things you deserve to be taught by the father's of this world i.e you do not have any right to raise your hand on a woman. Do you really understand me?" Asked said Evelyn who left the balcony.

Evelyn never liked quarelling with me. She felt that it was too childish since she never gained anything on quarelling. All what she got was total pain and suffering.

Martin and Akeshia left at that time too.  They were totally dissapointed in Ruth. They felt as if Ruth had betrayed and did not really want anything to do with her. Ruth suddenly remembered her family. This made her to leave the balcony and search for Evelyn in order to find out if she had already released her family from a deep slumber.

Ruth tried to search for her in the whole house but Evelyn was nowhere to be found. She suddenly decided to sit on the dining chair which was on the dinning table. Ruth was already tired and had hardly had any meal. Luckily, lady Nana happened to pass by. Ruth felt that it was a perfect opportunity to ask for food from her before she continued with what she wanted to do. Ruth wanted to go into deep slumber so that she could locate the whereabouts of the ancestral vase .

" Come here lady Nana. It's been long since we set our eyes on each other. I need you to do something for me. Please prepare for dish and ugali. A perfect luo aftican dish. I will be glad if I taste that for now. Don't you think do? You know me and all my likes and dislikes, don't you?" Asked Ruth.

" Well! I used to know your likes and dislikes when you were the Ruth I knew but now that you have sudddnly become leader,  I really do not know what you like and dislike anymore. It's for you to tell me if you really can please. As for me I don't know" said Lady Nana as she folded her arms.

Lady Nana had also become afraid of Ruth. 

" I have told you that I want fish and ugali. Prepare the food and place it for me here on top of the table. I want to eat as if I have nrver eaten before" said Ruth who signalled to Lady Nana to leave who left.

This made Lady Nana to feel that Ruth was still the old Ruth she knew before.
