CHAPTER 187

Ryan became devastated since even borrowing some money from others was what he did not want. Therefore, he decided to enter the house too and went to the kitchen. He took the sharpest knife and went to the living roof. Ryan aimed the wife to stab Ruth's neck but it did not happen all of sudden because the neck missed Ruth's neck and hit the wall then fell on the ground.

" I think a desperate man is ready to do anything to get what he or she wants. Thus property might belong to you but it was also my property. I was the owner of this property for so many years. This is our ancestral home and there is no way I was planning to ever sell it to someone like you" shouted Ryan filled with lots of anger. 

" How about the fact that I wanted to save this house from being sold to other people? Don't you know the consequences of selling an ancestral home? A lot of  bad memories would have followed you. Please consult your ancestral advicer next time before making such a decision" said Ruth.

" What else is remaining? Have I not given you the title deed to this ancestral home? Please allow me to go and rest in my own room" said Ryan.

" No Ryan. You cannot go and rest till it's night. Now that this house is mine. You have no choice than to live by my terms. From today, no one is allowed to sleep during the day. We shall all be sleeping at night after midnight except for my daughter Purist and my mother Naomi because my mother is aging and can't wait till midnight and Purist is a young girl who needs to have enough sleep and not lack any sleep at all" said Ruth.

Ryan became more devastated. It seemed that she underestimated Faith and what she was really capable of. Yet he saw the good in Ruth. This made him to understand the fact that Ruth could never hurt anyone. She only taught lessons to someone the best way she knew how to.

" Fine! I will go and rest in the balcony" said Ryan who wanted to leave but Ruth suddenly stopped him by holding his arm. 

" You cannot rest in a place in a place where Ruth is incharge. Ruth always believed that idleness is the devil's workshop. Please go to the kitchen and clean up all the utensils. What? Why are you looking at us like that? Is it because we are women and the work of women is to wash utensils and clean up the whole house? My love! Not in this house because as soon as Lawrence and Vivian come here, they will have no choice than to join you at the kitchen" said Ruth which made Ryan to go to the kitchen as read sparkles shone in eyes and traces of the sparkles were seen on his cheeks.

Ruth decided to sit on the couch as tears welled down her eyes. All her life, she never thought that she would hurt someone in such a way in order to get away with her revenge. All in all, Ruth felt that maybe it's what her grandmother would have wanted as long as she did not commit ant crime as murder in the process. 

The closer gates on the other hand was at a verge of collapsing. This was after Martin had coverged everyone at the meeting square and announced to everyone that he was going to get married to Tere soon. They people of the closer gates felt that the alliance between Martin and Tere's family happened once again, Tere would have equal rights to rule the land as Martin the same way that it happened in the past which made everyone's life miserable. 

Tere used to kill without Mercy and forced everyone to follow her rules which were out of the ordinary. 

This made everyone to start leaving the meeting square even before they were signalled to do so till there was no presence of anyone.

" Why Martin? Why did you let them go? Don't they fear you anymore?" Asked Tere as soon as she realized that there was no one any longer.

" It's you they don't like and not me. You cannot punish people simply because you think that they don't live you. They have the right to express their own feelings. You used to hurt them in the past when you were a ruler. How then do you think that they would ever live this alliance?" Martin asked Tere.

This made Tere to leave the case square filled with lots of anger. She went to  Martin's room and locked the door. It was then that Tere saw the ancestral vase on top of the bed which she did not have any idea of how it mended itself according to Akeshia's claims. This time the flowers in the vase had withered which was indeed a sign of bad omen. Tere understood that something bad was going to Martin and her before the wedding which she had waited for a long time to happen once again. 

This made her to leave her matrimonial room and go to ask Akeshia why she saw the ancestral flower in such state of condition.

As soon as she arrived at Akeshia's room, she found Akeshia praying. It was then that it dawned on Tere that Akeshia had seen the same ancestral vase on top of her bed. The only thing that astonished her was the fact that Akeshia was praying for the alliance between Ruth and Martin but not Tere and Martin. This made Tere to look at her filled with lots of anger as tears welled down her eyes. 

It was then that Akeshia realized Tere was standing in front of her. This made Akeshia to stop praying and go towards Tere.

" Tere! I- I did not know that you were standing. How long have you been here? I was....." said Akeshia but Tere suddenly interrupted.

" You were praying for the alliance between Martin and Ruth. Is that not right? Why? You have seen the same vision too and you think that I am the main reason why. Is that not right? Why did you allow me to stay here in this mansion if you knew that you weren't even going to value me even for a single? What about my values as a woman? Don't you care about those?" Asked Tere as tears welled down her eyes.

" I am a woman too and I do care about every women's value .i wouldn't dare stand and watch a woman humiliated unless she has humiliated herself. Tere! Why did you leave Haggai?" Asked Akeshia.

" I can't believe that you are asking this question. What has it got to do with me wanting to get married to Martin? You know that I was his wife and I could have been his wife till now" said Tere.

" That was only if you did not mess up your life in the past but you did. You chose to get married to Haggai and sent my own son to the cell of hell. You therefore forced me to live in my own home like a servant. You made my granddaughter to get married at the age of sixteen. How could you? Did it not occur to you that Purist was also your daughter? Listen Tere! I will keep praying dor Ruth because she has my granddaughter with her but not for your alliance with my son. I cannot bear to see my son humiliated once again. It will hurt me so much as a mother" said Akeshia.

This made Akeshia to remember that Tere had been arrested sometime back due to killing a lot of men at the abandoned house but the evidence suddenly dissapeared. She also remembered the fact that she overheard Ruth's conversation with Faith in the part. It was then that Akeshia realized the fact that Ruth's family did not suddenly disappear but Tere was the one who sent her people to go and kill Ruth's entire family. 

It was then that she promised herself to help Ruth find the evidence that claimed the fact that Tere was a murderer. 

" Mama! I still have little respect left for you. Now listen to me. You better start getting used to the fact that I am going to be your daughter-in-law soon and nothing will change that" said Tere holding Akeshia arm tightly.

" What will you do if I don't? Will you shoot me the same way that you shot Naomi some years back? Will you kill my father and siblings the same way that you killed Ruth's Father and siblings? Do you think I am scared of you?" Asked Akeshia angrily. 

" What if I killed them? After all, everyone had a reason as to why they killed someone. I might had shot Naomi in the past and killed Ruth's father and siblings but that was all because of Ruth's stubbornness. She did not want to leave my family alone" said Tere as she held Akeshia's arm more tightly.

Akeshia widened her eyes in disbelief. It was scary to hear those words coming from Tere. It was as if her mouth was yearning to kill and taste blood once again.
