CHAPTER 215

That sudden emotional hug made Ruth to be astonished. She decided to make the first move by pushing Nelly away from her.

" What's with this emotional new act of yours? Why have you come here and how have you remembered this place?" Ruth asked Nelly smiling.

" Can't you at least invite me for a cup of coffee before we say anything to each other?" Said Nelly who still seemed to be a little bit emotional.

" Yes! Sure! Let's go inside and have a talk first. I hope our conversation has nothing to do with Mambo town" said Ruth as they both went inside the house.

Ruth held Nelly's arm as soon as they entered the house and led to the study room. Ruth felt that the study room was the only calm place which they would have their conversation. 

As soon as they entered the study room, Ruth signalled to Nelly to sit on one of the chairs at the study room as she sat on the other that was near the study window.

" What is too hot that brings you to my grandmother's house?" Asked Ruth filled with lots of curiosity.

" It's Vivian and Lawrence" said Nelly as tears welled down her eyes who could not hide their tears.

" Well! What about them?" Asked Ruth. 

" Ryan hasn't recovered yet to take over Mambo town and Vivian and Lawrence are doing their best to make everybody's life miserable" said Nelly as tears welled down her eyes.

" Why don't you stay here with us for a while to calm your mind then go back to Mambo town?" Asked Ruth smiling.

" Are you even listening to what I am trying to tell you? Mambo town is on fire and people are suffering because of Lawrence and Vivian. Mambo town really needs you Ruth and Magdalene Mariana, no matter how hard you think about it, I think it's your grandma Magdalene. So I think that literally, Mambo town is your town too" shouted Nelly at Ruth.

A sudden feeling of tension made Ruth to stand from her chair and peep through the window. She therefore turned towards Nelly after a few minutes who seemed very serious. 

" My grandma Magdalene comes from Olam town. Your idea that she might be your grandma Magdalene Mariana is not and will never be. Currently, I have decided to focus on me and my mama. I have fought for many people and got betrayed by alot of people ever since Purist came back into my life. I really think that it is time for me to live a normal life. I am afraid but I can't help you this time Nelly. I choose to listen to my mama and the decision she makes for me, but if you decide to stay here, I am sure that my mama and I will have no problem with it" Ruth replied in a pellucid voice.

" Why the sudden change Ruth? I thought that I shared that I shared the same bond with you that you shared with Faith. We are like sisters. Aren't we?" Asked Nelly a little bit tensed about the fact that she was not going to get any help from Ruth. 

" I am well aware of that Nelly which will never change. I just want take a few months off from everything and be with my mother. Mama has never recovered ever since grandma's death and she needs me more than my fighting to win from earthly things. Forgive me please but I promise to come help if things won't change in a months time" said Ruth who turned on the other side of the room as she did not want to see Nelly simply because she would pity her and decide to go back with her in Mambo town. 

" Please Ruth! I am begging you to come with me and save our town" said Nelly who decided to kneel down as she came towards Ruth and bowed at her feet.

" It's no use begging my daughter too much. She wants to make it up to me for the pain of loosing my mama. I don't think that you should interfere with that because it is simply a family matter" said Naomi who suddenly entered the study room. 

" But Aunt Naomi....." Said Nelly who stood and went towards Naomi bit Naomi suddenly interrupted her.

" Please don't waste your tears my daughter. I am not against Ruth helping you and your town but then she has her own life. She is a lawyer , a very great lawyer of this town and she...." Said Naomi in a commanding voice but Nelly suddenly interrupted her.

" She Magdalene Mariana's granddaughter. She is the great lawyer of Mambo town. Are you still going to hide the fact that you are Magdalene Mariana's daughter? Who knows? Maybe I am a witch too" said Nelly who seemed to be filled with lots of anger.

" Will you leave us alone Nelly? Let me help you boarder a taxi that will take you to Mambo town" said Naomi in a commanding voice.

"  You cannot do this to me. I am family. I am the one who should feel hurt because grandma Magdalene left my father all by his own back at Mambo town only with the Mariana a booklet that held the rules of Mambo town. You need to help family. You need to" said Nelly. 

" Shut up Nelly! Why are you letting yourself get confused by what Evelyn said sometime back? Can't you understand that Evelyn was out there to ruin our lives and nothing else? Please stop this issue and let my grandma rest in peace. If we were related, grandma Magdalene could have never allowed Ryan to make advances at me to a point that we were about to get married. Just leave this house. I can't help you for now " said Ruth who signalled to Nelly to leave.

Nelly decided to leave but before she left, she made sure that she had caused some damage all over the house. She we t to the kitchen and threw all the glasses down which broke into pieces and Ruth and Naomi watched her filled with lots of anger. She therefore we t to the living room and threw all the family pictures which were indeed the memories left of Magdalene which made Ruth to be filled with lots of anger. She went towards Nelly and turned her towards her then slapped her.

" How dare you ruin my family picture? How dare you be so ungreatful after the sacrifices that I made for your family? Get out. Get out of my house right now and you will never see me in that Mambo town" shouted Ruth who pushed Nelly away from the house and locked the door. 

This left Nelly with no choice than to leave the premises.

Ruth decided to pick the pictures which had not yet been destroyed. Only the glasses of the frames were the only ones which were broken. She therefore went towards Naomi and handed the pictures over to her while embracing her filled with lots of emotions. 

" Mama! I have always helped Nelly but there was no single tine that I thought she would disrespect me and my family like this. Am I really a bad person?" Ruth asked Naomi filled with lots of sadness. 

" Because you are too blind and have always been to see the other side of people. Not everybody we care about loves us as much as we love them. I have told you that a thousand times Ruth. We have been filled with do many sorrows but now I think that it is time to put a smile on our faces. Let's clean up the mess that Nelly has created in our home" said Naomi smiling.

" Indeed mama. Let's clean up the mess and forget about everything that Nelly has told us, all of Evelyn's plot to take over the closer gates abd grandma's death. Let's pretend as if nothing has happened. As if we are living happy lives" said Ruth smiling. 

" You are right my daughter. Let's do so" said said Naomi smiling. 

Ruth and Naomi decided to clean up the whole us. In the process, they threw away alot of broken glasses that had been destroyed by Nelly. They therefore decided to clean up Magdalene's room in a respect way that they used to do when she was alive. 

After they were done, they went to the kitchen and decided to cook a meal for the two of them to eat. Being good chefs, their meals were done and they were seated at the dining room having their meal. 

" Mama! Do you remember when I was young? The song that you used to sing for me" asked Ruth smiling.

" Yes I do but I was not a good singer as I was before" said Naomi.

" Come on ma....." Said Ruth but she was suddenly interrupted by a knock on the door. 

Although she was tired of opening the door, Ruth still  decided to open the door. 

As soon as she entered, she was astonished to find out that it was Nelly yet this time she was dressed in a totally different piece of cloth.
