CHAPTER 218

As soon as she arrived at the house, Naomi stood for a while looking at the garage. She was indeed starting to regret what she had done to Ruth. 

SHE HAD JUST LOCKED HER ONLY DAUGHTER IN THE GARAGE WHERE THERE WAS ALOT OF COLD.

There was a chance that Ruth was going to freeze since this is what happened to witches when they breathe too much cold. 

Seeing the pain and grieve in Naomi's face, Nelly decided to come towards her and assisted her to move away from the door. As soon as Nelly was close to Naomi, Nelly locked the door and embraced Naomi.

" I have just locked my only daughter outside in the garage. She will freeze and if it becomes worse, then she can freeze to death. No! I am going to get her out of the garage right now" said Naomi who suddenly opened the door once again and left the house.

She went towards the garage door and opened the door. She was astonished to see Ruth lying helplessly in one corner of the room.

Naomi went close to Ruth and carried her outside the garage to the house. She therefore rushed Ruth to her room and placed her on top of her bed. She tried to wake up Ruth but Ruth could not wake up which made her to begin to cry.

" When a witch especially leaders like us goes unconscious, it is not said when they will wake up. It can take even years and centuries or the witch might die. What then will I say? That I killed my own daughter? I am such a bad mother" said Naomi.

" I know the cure to her illness Aunt Naomi. I am going to help her to get healed. My mother was a witch doctor who kept it hidden from people for a long time but I knew about it since she always taught me what to do. She wanted me to someday become her and I think that this is the right time to use all the skills that she had taught me in the past before she met her untimely death" said Nelly who left the room.

She immediately went outside the house and began searching for fresh grass which had not withered. As soon as she had picked one handful of the grass, she entered the house and webt to the kitchen. She put the grass in an oven and the put two glasses of water. She therefore heat them in a glass cooker till the water suddenly turned to green.

She therefore put the water in a bowl and hurried to Ruth's room.

" Aunt Naomi, we need to take her to the bathtub and undress her right away" said Nelly.

" What are you talking about Nelly? In this town, we are only allowed to see our children's nakedness only before they are married. After they are married, if becomes hard to do so no matter how sick they get" said Naomi a bit tensed. 

" Should we then let her die because her mother cannot see her nakedness? Aunt Naomi, it's time to do our with this traditions. They will always be there to see our downfall. Take her to the bathtub and undress her. Only you can be able to do that because at this point, I am just a witch doctor. I give you instructions and you follow them without a word" said Nelly in a commanding voice.

" But it a taboo" said Naomi a little bit worried.

" To hell with all these taboos. What do you think? That you will die when you see your daughter's nakedness. Everybody is afraid of dying Aunt Naomi but we can never be afraid of saving one's life. You won't die and I think you should listen for me this once " said Nelly as Ruth began to breath heavily. 

This made Naomi to hurriedly carry Ruth to the bathtub and undressed her. She therefore went back to the room and tried to find out where Ruth had hidden the ancestral vase since the ancestral vase was also needed for curing Ruth. 

Luckily, she had the right guess. The ancestral vase was made invisible under her bed. Naomi immediately performed a spell to make it visible and took it to Nelly. 

She therefore started spilling the heated grass water on Ruth as she closed her eyes while Naomi kept prayed using the ancestral vase till they finally heard Ruth coughing.

The cough made Ruth to suddenly wake up. As soon as she woke up, she was astonished to see herself naked.

" What on the earth is going on? Why am I naked?" Asked Ruth as she widened her eyes in disbelief.

" Stop asking too much questions. I think you need a warm bath. Let me go and get you a towel" Nelly immediately went to the kitchen and brought a towel for Ruth. 

Both Nelly and Naomi then left Ruth's shower and room as well. They both went to the living room to wait for Ruth.

As soon as they sat on the couch, Nelly looked at Naomi's face and realized that she was a little bit worried. Nelly immediately took the initiative of going to sit beside her. 

" What is it Aunt? Why do you look so tensed?" Asked Nelly a bit curious. 

" I can't stop wondering why my daughter suddenly freezed like that. Ever since she was young, staying all the night in the garage sss the largest punishment that I used to give her whenever she annoyed me yet she never freezed like that. Do you think that this might mean something?" Naomi asked Nelly a little bit worried. 

" I don't know Aunt. It maybe shows that Evelyn is still around this compound and she is not willing to rest till she gets the ancestral vase at the palm of her hands" said Nelly. 

" I will need to do something to drive her out of my compound. All I want is to live in peace with my daughter Nelly. I don't want any of this wars or anything but as for the ancestral vase, I will never let anyone else have it. It belongs to my family" said Naomi who reassured Nelly that she was not going to give up the ancestral vase.

" I understand how you feel Aunt Naomi. Living a peaceful kind of life is the best thing ever. No one dares to disturb you. No one dares to control you. You find it extremely easy to smile. Extremely easy to eat. Extremely easy to keep physically fit " said Naomi smiling.

" You are right mama. But I think that we need to rest. Aren't you all tired? Can we please not let the wee hours of the night find us awake?" Said Ruth as she went and sat in between Nelly and Naomi.

" Yes dear. I might wake up late tomorrow because of a few things. I really hope that you will have helped Nelly. I need to be deep asleep inorder to find out how I can get rid of Evelyn" said Ruth.

" Yes mama, I will do exactly what you are going to do. I am going to be deep asleep. I might not wake up exactly at sunruse but all I know is that by the time I wake up, we will have already find the solution to our problem" said Ruth smiling.

" I know and understand very well that I am not a witch but I can help you both perform that spell and fall deep asleep" said Nelly smiling.

" Why not Nelly? That spell is for everyone regardless of whether the person is human or a witch like us. Shall we? We are going to do this in my room where I have the ancestral vase. The ancestral vase will term as our priest" said Ruth.

The three of them left the living room to Ruth's room. They all slept on top of the bed and began telling each other funny stories.

" The only memories that I have left of my mother is the memories that she usually song for me. Still! I don't understand how they died. My parents could not have possibly been killed. Somebody took them away. I am yet to know who the person is" said Nelly.

" Did your parents have enemies? If so, regardless of the answer, please explain to me about what happened the day your parents died" asked Ruth a boy worried bit hesitant.

" My parents did not have any enemies. The only thing that they had was their town and their children" said Nelly.

" What if everything you are saying is not correct Nelly? You parents were not witches. Therefore, there is no possible ways that they could have been kidnapped or are being tortured by someone" said Ruth.

" Ruth is absolutely correct. Only witches can ressurect if someone choose to ressurect them" said Naomi.

This made Ruth to be a little bit emotional. It therefore dawned on her, that it was Faith's choice to ressurect Evelyn.
