CHAPTER 226
Ruth was indeed afraid for her mother. She knew that if Naomi went to have a conversation with the doctor, the same incident would happen again. Evelyn would lock her up and take her life.
As soon as Ruth arrived at the doctor's office, she wanted to open the door but stopped as soon as she heard Evelyn's voice from the office.
" You are such an illetrate and a weak ally. Why did you tell Ruth that her mother was in one of the washrooms? She was beginning to trust the fact that I was her mama Naomi but you fool ruined everything. I will now have to form a spirit of comparison using you. I guess that the only way to do that is when you are considered dead. Therefore, I must kill you and dump you by burrying you" said Evelyn in an angry tone.
This made Ruth to enter the office. She felt that there was no way she was going to allow Evelyn to ruin another person's life. Evelyn turned towards her as Ruth locked the door behind her.
" Why don't you start by killing me first Evelyn? I should be the first one to die. I will not allow you to kill this innocent doctor unless you kill me first" said Ruth who went and stood in front of the doctor who out of fear had got out of her office chair and went to lean at the corner of the wall.
" Fine! Then I want to kill me. You know very well that it is hard to kill a special witch. A special witch is choose by the people and given alot of powers as soon as she becomes the protector of the ancestral vase. That is what I was born to do and I will always to" said Ruth in a confident manner which made the doctor to be amazed by her.
" I guess that this is a challenge. Today we will know the most powerful witch, an evil witch or a special witch. Are you ready?" Asked Evelyn.
" I am ready and I know that I will never loose to you. I know that my ancestors and the ancestral vase will protect me" said Ruth in a pellucid voice.
At that instant, Ruth breathed a blue fire from her mouth which made Evelyn to began to scratch her skin all over. This made her whole skin to turn to blue and her face to become pale. Evelyn suddenly immediately raised her hand and disappeared from the office. The doctor who was watching what was happening immediately embraced Ruth as soon as he saw that Evelyn disappeared.
The fear that had gripped in the doctor's heart immediately faded away. He released himself from Ruth and went to sit at his office chair filled with lots of shame. The shame that he felt was as a result of the fear that he had felt. Ruth went and sat on the guest chair too.
" I am sorry about your mother and the fact that I conspired with Evelyn for her to be tied up in the washrooms and left there. I fail to wonder why you have decided to help me even after what I did to your mama" said the doctor filled with lots of regrets.
" You should stop wondering doctor but there is something that you must do for me. We want Nelly to be discharged and treated from my family hone which is grandma's house. I also want my to hire a doctor and two nurses" said Ruth in a pellucid voice.
" Why don't you want her to be treated in my hospital? Do you now feel insecure?" Asked the doctor a little bit worried.
" I now feel insecure doctor. I feel that what has happened to my mama can happen again. Any of us can get kidnapped as well as I fear for Nelly's life. You can do us a favour by preparing a discharge papers for her. We need to leave immediately " said Ruth.
The doctor angrily took some papers from one of his table drawers. He signed then and threw them at Ruth. Ruth silently took the papers and left. She couldn't believe that the doctor had signed the divorce papers and threw them at her after the much that she tried to help the doctor puting her life in danger. Therefore, Ruth signed the papers as well claiming that she had the right to calm down her mother.
After signing, Ruth returned the papers to the doctor in a respectful manner which astonished the doctor. He had seen someone go against him but he had no idea that soneone would remove a patient from his hospital someday rendering his hospital as a uselessness hospital.
" As you leave the hospital, please don't let the world know that you are leaving because you are feeling insecure in my own hospital. That will make the image of my hospital to die down and it is not really what I want. I want people to always come to the hospital" said the doctor a little bit worried.
" Will you be able to pay me for my silence?" Asked Ruth smiling.
" What about me telling the whole world that you are a witch? Do you like that?" Asked the doctor laughing annoyingly.
" Yes I like it. If you dare try to open your stupid mouth to the whole world, then I won't hesitate to make you deaf and dumb. The only thing that I will make you hear is the calling of your name. That is what happens to snitches like you. As for me, I will never a snitch unless you become one. So, I will keep my silence at my best" said Ruth who suddenly left the office.
Ruth was already tired of having a conversation with the doctor. The doctor was really annoying and thought that he had too much power after being saved from the claws of Evelyn. He had no idea that Evelyn was just gone and could come back anytine.
Ruth arrived at Nelly's ward as happy as a lark. He immediately webt towards Nelly and grabbed her arm pecking her arm from her fingers to he head's forehead.
" Sister! Today I am taking you to my grandma's home. That is the safest place where we can take care of you. I cannot really dare to take any risk after the doctor and Evelyn kidnapped my mama and locked her up in the washrooms. I fail to understand why people are always too desperate. Just a smile will make me happy girl" said Ruth as Nelly struggled to smile till she began to cough.
" It's alright Nelly. We can see that you have trued to smile. I can't wait to take you back to our home sweet home. I can't wait for you to recover and go back to your feet then dance and insult people like you have always. Model in various competitions like the model that you are. You have to get well soon. Don't let Ruth's decision to make you feel better go into vain" said Naomi smiling.
" Just you both scolding.....I want to smile" said Nelly which startled Naomi.
She liked the energy that Nelly had but hated the fact that Nelly was struggling to speak. She preffered for Nelly to be silent till the day that she had fully recovered because she's felt all the energy that Nelly heard as per that instant was for getting well soon.
" Listen Nelly. I don't want you struggling to speak. Please write down anything that you want on the new notebook that I will give to you. This has to start as soon as we arrive at home" said Naomi without sharing her main reason why and her thoughts as well.
The prideful doctor immediately arrived at that instant. He brought an already paid receipt that shows I have already paid and settled all your bills. The ambulance will be ready in a short while. The doctor and the two nurses that will take care of Nelly....." Said The doctor but Ruth suddenly interrupted.
" Will not come from this hospital. The doctor and the nurses will not come from this town either. Next time please make sure that you consult your patients before making any decisions for them in their lives. You can have the green vegetables for lunch. We have our own car, we do not really require an ambulance. Please leave" said Ruth who signalled to the doctor to leave.
The doctor immediately left Nelly's ward seeming disappointed. Everybody looked at Ruth astonished. She had refused for an ambulance and yet the money that she had was not enough to to hire for another ambulance from another hospital. Magdalene's car was also too small to accommodate them.
" So cruel Ruth. Has the doctor done anything wrong?" Asked Purist who recently found it hard to understand Ruth and the decisions that she made. Yet she felt that all the decisions that Ruth made had to be right.
