Chapter 40

I rode my motorcycle down a deserted street. In the street, there were only a few houses. "I guess it's just werewolves who live here," I remarked. Some of the wolves outside were staring at me, while others were peering through the window. I assumed they were aware that I was a visitor to their park.

At the end of the street was a large historic mansion. I suppose that's where her family lives. I turned off the motorcycle's engine in front of the historic mansion.

She took off her helmet, stepped off the motorcycle, and handed it to me; I, too, stepped off the motorcycle and removedthe helmet.

"Let's go inside," she suggested.  "All right," I replied, she led the way into the historic mansion. Wow, the entrance hall is enormous and breathtaking. I imagine the family had passed down the mansion from generation to generation.

The interior design of the entrance hall is appealing, with a cloakroom close to the entrance. When we came across a man, I stopped looking around.

He appeared to be there to protect the house, he was on a nice expensive suit. "Hi," she said to him as she came to a halt. "It's been a while, Ellie," he replied. "And who is he?" he inquired.

"I've been busy lately," she explained. "He's my friend," she added, looking back at me. "Okay," he said. "Come with me, Sir Edward is waiting for you." he added.

He turned to leave, leading us to the visitors' living room near the entrance hall. The living room was just down a passage, carpeted in red carpet, as we walked behind him, there were photo frames hang on the wall, I looked at them as we walked down the passage.

"Wait over here, he'll join you soon," he said as he exited the living room through the other door. I noticed a large picture frame. I took a step towards it. A name was boldly written on the frame.

"Are you looking for me in the photo frame?" she cooed, peering into the frame alongside me. "I'm not from this generation," she mumbled.

"Ellie, it's been a while," a thick voice said as I looked down at her. We turned around to face him, and she said, "Sorry, I haven't been coming around to great grandpa," before walking up to him and hugging him.

She has a great grandfather who is still alive. While I was walking to a couch, she sat down and took my seat beside her.

"Adam, meet Sir Edward Herbert, my great grandfather," she said softly. "Sir, it's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Adam Stones "I said it cheerfully. "You're welcome," he said. We talked, and I learned more about her family. She comes from a large werewolf family.

After about an hour, we were finally coming to the end of our discussion. "Adam, as one of us, you are always welcome here," he said. "Thank you, sir," I replied, "And make sure you protect my little angel," he added with a smile, his love for Ellie being more than just that of a great grandfather, but also that of a father.
