Chapter 56

"No, he didn't tell me, he has locked me up here after waking me up from my sleep by removing the dagger from my heart," he replied, I guess he had been dagger for years, I don't think an old vampire would be so foolish to answer my question straight up.

"Nikolas, I think I have to go," I said to him, remembering that Jack and Josh were outside the house and that they might come down here if they didn't see me in time. 

"Could you bring me a witch and make sure no one hears my name before you leave?" he asked, moving closer to the gate but not close enough for his hand to reach me. 

I know you're trying to take advantage of me, as all vampires do, but I can only save up if you answer my questions correctly ""I told him." 

He gave a small smile "Do you think I turned into a vampire yesterday? I awoke from a five-hundred-year slumber. The boundary spell would be broken soon. I'm guessing you'll be the first. I'm going to haunt you first before I go after Robert and the others.

He transformed into a vampire and attempted to grab me through the gate. I backed away from him and jolted upstairs. I ran into Mr. Fred, who was still sitting. I was wondering if the woman was still alive. I'm at a loss for what to do with her. 

"Does she still exist?" I inquired of him. "She is, in fact, still alive. She'll wake up soon, I'm sure "He responded. I approached him and made eye contact with him. "Forget I was here after I leave, and don't return to this basement until I give you permission," I said softly. 

He assisted me in loosening the rope that he had used to bind her. I lifted her from the bed and hopped her onto my back. Mr. Fred walked us out of the basement. I carried her upstairs to Mr. Fred's room and placed her on the king-size bed. 

Mr. Fred dashed up the stairs. Something had to be wrong downstairs, I reasoned. "Someone is attempting to enter downstairs," he panted. "How are we going to proceed?" he inquired. I'm guessing it'll be Josh and Jack. 

"To put her to sleep, you must inject more of the drug. Take her back into your car after I've left, drive her to a location, and drop her off ""I told him." "All right," he said, "you'll act like you're chasing me out of your house," I told him. 

I opened the door, pretending he'd caught me sneaking into his house. I ran into both of them, Josh and Jack. We all dashed back to the spot where we had parked the car. We were all out of breath by the time we got to the car. 

"What did you discover?" Josh inquired. I'm not sure how to respond to Josh. That will prevent him from being interested in the house. I'll have no trouble convincing Jack, but Josh will be difficult because he always has a verbena plant on him.
