Chapter 38

I was lying in my bed, trying to piece together everything that had happened the day before. I kept reasoning to see if anyone else was aware of my secret, but I'm sure Josh was trying to figure it out. Could he have been it?

My phone started ringing. I couldn't bring myself to get out of bed. I stretched out my body and yawned as I rested my leg on the tiles. I was completely exhausted.

I trudged over to the table where I had left my phone, before I arrived at the table, the phone had stopped ringing, I picked it up then unlocked it. It was Jack's miss calls.

Jack calling me several times felt strange. He might be in big trouble, allow me to rush and return his FaceTime call. It rang for a few seconds before indicating that he had answered it.

"Hey Jack, I hope you're good man," I said. "Yeah, I'm fine," he said. "I thought you were in trouble because I kept getting missed calls from you," I explained.

"Ohh thanks, I'd like to tell you something about what happened last night," he cooed. What did he know about yesterday's occurrence, and why it he telling me about it? Could he possibly be aware of my supernatural abilities?

"What is it that you know?" I inquired. "Let's meet in the garden," he said, "right now." "Yes," he said when I asked. I hung up the phone. I slid the phone back onto the table.

I walked to the bathroom to go and take a bath. I finished in a matter of minutes. I emerged from the bathroom, using my tower to gently dry my hair. Then, all of a sudden, Lydia bumped into my room.

She caught a glimpse of my Packer Boxer before I could cover it with the tower. I yelled while she was looking away, "What the hell do you want in my room? That you couldn’t knock before you enter," "I'm sorry, I thought you weren't here, "She murmured, her face hidden behind her hands. I pushed her away from my room and said, "You know what, just go out and come back later to take whatever you want to take." I slammed the door shut and locked it with my key before returning to get dressed.

I approached Jack, who was sitting in the garden. He could see me coming. "What's up, man?" As we exchanged handshakes. "What took you so long to arrive?" he queried.

“I had to take my bath before coming,” “Are you coming to meet a girl, fool,” he said, we both burst out laughing.

"You told me over the phone you wanted to tell me something about what happened yesterday," I said as I sat down beside him. "What exactly do you know?" I inquired.

He shifted his gaze to me. I was intrigued by the way he was looking at me. "Are you now gay?" I laughed. "I just know why you're keeping your secret," he said with a smile. “I saw you the night, you were fighting against the beast.”
