Chapter 82

We were all in the locker room, preparing for the game. While I waited for us to be called down to the football field, I put on my boots and was fully prepared for the game.

I leaned back and looked around the locker room. The majority of the players were prepared, and the remainder were on their way to being prepared. ******flashback*** I was sitting beside my locker, looking very sad, because I had blown the team's only chance to take the game to extra time and continue fighting for who would win the cup.

While I was busy remaining silent, the others appeared to be in a bad mood as well. Only a few people had gone to take a bath; everyone else was just going about their business. The normal mood after a game had vanished, and the locker room was unusually quiet, as if no one was inside, all because of the mistake I had made outside.

Even if they couldn't say it to my face, I knew deep down that they weren't happy with the chance I had missed out there.

I stood up and made my way to the coach room. I extended my hand towards the door handle, passed it down, and pushed it inside.

When I entered the room, I saw the coach sitting down, his head resting on the wall. When he noticed my presence, he raised his head. He didn't appear to be in a good mood either.

I approached the table. I looked down at my hand, which held my captain's band. I folded my hand and extended it forward, intending to place it on the table in front of him.

He remained silent after I placed the captain's band on the table. I turned to leave the room. After what I had done, I suppose I didn't regret leaving the team. ******** When we were about to walk onto the field for the match, I snapped out of my reverie. We were all ready and prepared for the match by this point.

"Hey guys, it's time to move to the field," he said as he entered the locker room.

They began standing up from where they had sat, one after the other, heading towards the locker room entrance, as soon as he made the announcement.

The coach and his assistant were standing at the door, greeting the players as they exited the locker room. I was walking closely behind Josh.

I couldn't help but wonder how the students in the pavilion, who had come to support the school football team, would react.

After a few words with Josh, he walked out the door, and I had to step forward because I was next. I came to a complete stop in front of them.

"The team is glad to have you back, boy," the assistant coach said as he tapped my right shoulder.

"I'm also glad to be welcomed back," I said calmly.

"See you out there," the coach said quietly as he excused himself. which his assistant followed him. I also walked behind them.
